    -Shelley-

Hi! I’m Shelley, little sister and occasional travel partner of Adam :) I’m 20 years old, currently living in Arizona, USA. I graduated high school in 2022 and was given the opportunity to travel to, live, and work in Kauai, Hawaii with my wonderful brother for 9 months. My favorite part (besides the adventures, of course) was the hands on, random tasks that taught me useful life skills such as replacing damaged windshields, a few construction projects (unprofessionally but hey, I did it), and learning how to plant and care for native species on the island.
I truly enjoy working hard, obtaining new knowledge, and being open minded towards anything outside my comfort zone. My ultimate goal has always been to travel; I want to go everywhere and see everything. I have a sweet spot for the outdoors and moving my body. You’ll often find me walking, running, hiking, biking, doing yoga, or simply sitting on the porch listening to the birds and wind.
I’ve mainly worked in the restaurant industry, keeping a cleanly space, taking care of guests’ needs with a pleasant and optimistic attitude, and managing money in a responsible manner. I’m currently working full time at Target. I work the 4am shift, unloading the daily truck and stocking the store shelves. I am a hard worker and am up for any task given to me. I love change, I am very flexible in the way I handle life’s day to day obstacles. We come from a large family, so a little chaos can be comforting and it has taught me in the midst of chaotic situations I am able to remain calm and still think logically.
I’m looking forward to new exciting opportunities, meeting different people and growing as an individual!

Hi there, Adam here! I'm looking for another fantastic opportunity to travel. I am originally from Arizona, USA! I have traveled to 47 out of the 50 states in the United States and I figured it was about time to branch out and explore the world! I have had 22 years of wonderful experiences and I have been traveling since the age of 16 all independently! I come from a family of eight children in which my parents instilled a strong, self-motivating work ethic in me. I have learned so much in these last six years and I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had, the people I have met, and how much I have grown, and I am excited to see what is next.

Some background of past jobs and work experiences; I grew up going to my grandpa's ranch every weekend and learned how to drive at the age of eight, take care of farm animals (such as horses, cows, goats, and dogs), and many other things needed to maintain a ranch. I grew up in a Christian-based religion where service projects and volunteering for those in need were a staple in my upbringing. I honorably achieved my Eagle Scout award at 16 before leaving my Christian roots and finding spirituality within nature and myself.

Also, at the age of 16, I started working in the restaurant industry and in total, have worked in four different restaurants as a host, server, cook, and maintained a cleanly environment, and loved it all the while I was doing it. I eventually transitioned into what I knew I always loved, which was taking care of children and specifically children with special needs. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for kids with pure hearts. I worked for three years providing in-home care for a couple of different families (can provide references) and I am familiar with the tasks and requirements of how to best assess and navigate kids with Autism/Asperger’s (high or low on the spectrum), Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, and other neurological disabilities such as ADHD, ADD, OCD, depression, anxiety, and many other disabilities.

When I decided I wanted to explore the world and leave Arizona, I packed a duffel bag and a backpack, sold everything, and moved to Hawaii! Through the WOOFing (Worldwide Organization of Organic Farming) program I have been living off and on the island of Kauai for the past two years. I have loved my experience while being there and I am now ready to explore more of the world. A few of the things I've learned while being here are construction and landscaping. I've worked on cars and I have learned many helpful skills but not nearly enough to be labeled as a mechanic. I have dabbled in being an assistant to the landlord and I helped the renters on the property by being the maintenance man for many problems that came up in addition to tending to those who get hurt or injured and helping them in any way that I can. I have also been labeled as the organization leader of the household as I am very organized and appreciate order (can also provide references).

I enjoy long hikes, reading at the beach, art projects, working out, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, trying new things such as a variety of food, and most importantly, exploring new cultures. Yoga, meditation, cooking, and maintaining a routine are all high on my daily to-do list. Meanwhile, having fun and living life to the absolute fullest!

Lastly, something about me personally is that I am a gay man. I tell you this from a very vulnerable position because I feel as a gay man that I am more open and empathetic towards all humans, especially minority populations and smaller diverse communities of people. I enjoy being myself and I would love to find a family that does not care about my sexuality and sees me for the strong, nurturing, caring, empathetic, and hard-working person I am.
