I can't speak highly enough of my experience housesitting and cat sitting for Julie. She has created a beautiful sanctuary in the woods and is generous with her space and energy. She was very clear about expectations and instructions for the pets, plants and space. She was also very encouraging about enjoying the area and getting to know the true

Lexington took care of my home and my kitties while I was away for a month. He was kind to the cats, took great care of my plants, communicated well with me and left my house nice and clean. Lex is a kind and generous soul and I give him the highest recommendation. Thanks, Lex, for doing such a great job!

Abigail has been with me for more than a month and it has been a marvelous experience. In addition, it has been so fun to work on painting my house with Abigail. She is very skillful and works to a very high standard. I couldn't be happier with Abigail and give her the highest recommendation. I would welcome her back and now feel as if I have made a cherished friend.

-My time at Julies was wonderful. I feel very fortunate to have had this experience w Julie and her kitties: Old man Pepito, Wanderer Lucy, and Super-Chill Sid. Much of the 6 wks I was at Julies involved caring for the cats & watering the gardens, interspersed w other small tasks.
-Julie is a very independent, kind and caring person. She always
… read more has a multitude of projects going on and enjoys taking on new ones, so long as they’ll be fun. She shares her knowledge of any task and approaches things with a “learn as you go“ attitude. She never asked for more than she was willing to do herself and always offered a choice of tasks. While we didn’t spend as much time together as planned, what we did spend working, talking & sharing meals was very enjoyable. I now consider Julie a valued friend.
-The cats are all awesome. I believe pets take on some characteristics of their owners and develop traits based on how they’re treated. Julies cats exemplify this. They’re great and have a special bond with her resulting from the freedom, attention & affection she gives them. They were an absolute joy to be around.
-Julies property is great. It includes her main home and a ‘little house’ on a nearby hill. She built much of the little house herself and you can see the care that went into it. It has all the amenities of a normal house w a huge amount of privacy. Her property is hundreds of feet from other homes, surrounded by trees in a very rural, quiet, serene area. There are hiking & biking trails just across the street and more within a few miles.
-Minor things of note: no cell service on the property and limited internet. There can also be a lot of mosquitoes, bugs, etc.
-If you’re looking to get away from it all, work on fun projects, learn a few things, spend time with some great cats and a wonderful person, this is the place for you.

Bryan spent about 6 weeks at my house and it was a marvelous experience. I have three cats and a big garden, all of which need kind attention. Bryan worked hard to care for my home, my gardens and my pets. One of my kitties is very old and requires tons of encouragement just to eat. Bryan lavished this old guy with so much love and care that he

The original agreement for this workaway was that Bryan would spend about half of his time house sitting for me as I traveled, and the remainder of his time helping me with building and gardening projects. Well, life threw me a curve ball and my 90 year old father got sick. Bryan graciously stepped in and took care of everything at home so that I could attend to my dad's needs. He also took on lots of extra projects and worked far beyond the required number of hours. Bryan became a cherished friend who helped me as I struggled to deal with the emotions of having my dad get sick. I would gladly have Bryan back again and give him the highest recommendation.Feedback

My time with Julie was absolutely amazing. She’s so kind, funny, thoughtful, and full of amazing stories. She continually made sure I had everything to feel welcome and comfortable here. I had a blast being able to work with her on the fence and she taught me so much while doing so, answering any questions I had along the way. Julie’s little house

Esther is an incredible person! She is kind, smart, hardworking and very cheerful. Although Esther had only a little hands on experience with tools and woodworking, she knew so much about building, just from watching youtube videos. We had a wonderful experience with Julie, it has been one of those Workaway experiences that everyone would like to have. First, the space that she offers, which is the tiny house, is very nice and very comfortable, we love it, it is a space in which you want to be. As for work, Julie knows what she wants so it is very easy to work with her, she
… read more is also always open to receiving advice or opinions, she is very clear and has the patience to explain how to use her tools and how she wants the job, we were very entertaining working with wood. On the other hand outside of work she is the best too! we took a great friend in our hearts, we went for walks together, we had dinner together, we laughed a lot and we also opened up to talk about our lives. We were also able to share with her beautiful cats, each of them very special and that many times made us laugh with the "life of cats" hehe. Julie is our favorite gringa and she knows it. We love you Julie💜. Coni & Gonzo. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Coni and Gonzo are beautiful souls. They are extraordinarily kind and I really enjoyed the time they spent with me. We discussed many ideas and issues, laughed over my terrible Spanish, and shared some delicious meals. We worked together on building a fence, putting in water tanks for rainwater, and painting my house. Both Coni and Gonzo worked
