    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

My family is from this island. My mom was born here, and I am 100% filipino. I can teach you the language, local foods and customs.

I can teach you spirituality and learning to be more self-aware, how to reprogram your nervous system, how to meditate, how to write, how to communicate effectively and openly, how to navigate relationships, how to do photography, how to let go and surrender.

I can teach you how to cook, how to record on Ableton using a microphone, how to journal.

IF YOU READ MY PROFILE PLEASE INCLUDE THE WORD 'DISCO' IN YOUR MESSAGE.

    Help

    I would love help with...

    - CARPENTRY! BUILDING! I really need builders and carpenters right now.

    - A custom sound system! And small music venue. Version 1 of the temple might have to be open air at first.
    - If you’re a DJ or music producer you can help me build this island’s first music scene! I really enjoy bass/disco/house/dnb/dubstep/tribal house, as well as math rock/polyrhythmic rock, indie, jazz, classical, ambient instrumental, and high vibe frequencies.
    - Community garden
    - A place for dancing and hanging out!
    - Bonfire area
    - Video editing/social media marketing/posting
    - Permaculture gardening and planning: helping me design, reorganize current garden, plant, etc
    - Green house: build a structure, help me put up mosquito netting, arranging space inside
    - Install two solar panels: I have the solar panels, need help installing them!
    - Build water collection system: I can order the materials needed for this. Would love to get this setup before next rainy season (May 2024).
    - Built a yurt (or two?!): Hexagonal yurt made from bamboo.
    - Apocathery: Helping me plant all these herb seeds and plan an apocathery space.
    - Beekeeping: There are bees living in my porch....
    - Help with chickens, ducks, and goats [in the future]: I have a few ducks and chickens, would love to get some help making their spaces more efficient.
    - Walking labyrinth: Build a walking labyrinth out of bamboo or stones
    - Chicken house / area
    - Goat area?
    - Pond
    - Murals / Art
    - New kitchen cabinet
    - Little accommodations bungalows
    - Whatever your heart and mind desires!

I will not ask you to provide help with serving food or drinks to paying customers.

Please note: You and I are consenting to a "workaway" exchange, so I do have expectations of you as a guest, however I want to work with your strengths and create that work/play balance that feels fulfilling, meaningful and helpful for both parties.

You get free housing and food, but you must provide an equal exchange of work and effort.

You must provide your own medical insurance / travel insurance. You are responsible for paying any fees or bills related to medical expenses incurred during your stay.

D̲O̲ ̲N̲O̲T̲ message me if you have intentions to "hook up" or expect a s3xual connection.
D̲O̲ ̲N̲O̲T̲ message me if you are just trying to find a free place to stay & not contribute to the land/projects/community.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    - Guest room with a twin sized bed and a cot, sleeps two.

    OR

    - Cot can be moved into the living room for a semi-private space (curtain dividers), creating one private bedroom and a semi-private room.

*Please don't expect to have the guest room after March 8, as it is reserved for my girlfriend Ku.

    - I have two tents available to be setup as well! 🫶🏽
    - There is also a hammock on my porch outside. I also have a 2-person hammock that is not set up yet.
    - Room for many tents / camper vans on the property!
    - Full bathroom, functioning toilet, shower etc. No hot water <3 But then again, the water is never cold here!
    - And a stunning view of sunset over an island and the ocean....

Accommodation: Private bedroom for one or two people, semi-private living room space (curtains), and a hammock on the porch! You're free to bring a tent and camp anywhere on my land.

Food: Meals are provided in exchange for hours worked. We will alternate food bulk preparation weekly and work as a team to prepare large quantities of certain things at one time (like babaghanoush or pickled veggies for example).

Note: I eat mostly meat, fish, chicken, beef, eggs, some potatoes and cassava and rice once a week. You don’t have to eat like me, things like rice and bread will be provided for you.

    Breakfast: 7-8AM.

    Lunch: 1PM.

    Dinner: 6PM.

Note: Dinner dish duty will be on rotation, everyone must contribute to wash dinner dishes! No one goes two nights in a row.

If you are a vegan it WILL BE DIFFICULT for you here because there is no readily available tofu or tempeh in my town, we would have to pick it up in bulk on our supply runs twice monthly and freeze the tofu for your daily meals. Your starchy options are rice and noodles.

Vegetarians: you have eggs and many cheese options we can buy from the Italian deli in Coron on supply runs! There are veggies and a bakery in town.

    Sunday Family Cookout:
On Sundays we will enjoy a family dinner either out on a beach, pier, or on the land bonfire style. This is a great opportunity for you to share a dish from your culture! Optional to attend.

Please note: on Sundays we will share cooking & dish washing duties, on a rotating basis. You must contribute at least one time for dishwashing and one time for cooking on a Sunday during your stay.

Laundry: My groundskeeper Ate Irish will take care of all laundry, however she charges 350pesos for small load and 500pesos for large load. Includes soap, washing, drying, folding. Please factor this into your budget ! We may combine loads to cut costs.

    --
𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭! I reserve the right to ask you to leave my property AT ANY TIME if I feel you are unsafe or we are not a good fit.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Lots of beautiful, empty wild beaches, waterfalls, hot springs, mountain hikes, secret river spots, jumping off bridges into water, long walks, bonfires, and a shuttle (Q-Van) that goes into the main town (Coron) multiple times a day. There's one main town bar for live music and events on weekends, but i'm not a drinker!

Let's build our own cool hangout space and a firepit and have tea ceremonies ;)

Nearest beach is a 5 min drive away and is always empty! (Palatpat beach).
    Nearest waterfall is Conception Falls.

I have a pick-up truck that we can use (if you want to use it, my rule is to please replenish the gasoline after).
Also you may use our ATV (which goes 60KM/H!) That's also up for grabs, same rule applies.
Best if you rent a motorbike from the main town in Coron if you wanna be super mobile while you're here!

Keep in mind I live 1 hour from Coron Town proper, so there's little nightlife here.

I am NOT a drinker. Alcohol is my least favorite choice.

And of course, plentiful intellectual conversations to be had!
