Help with DIY, gardening and general maintenance in a beautiful family home with pool in Midi Pyrenees, France

  Description

  We are a family living in a newly renovated farmhouse with pool in some stunning countryside in the South of France an hour's drive due South of Toulouse in the Occitanie region.
  
  We have two cats (Pickle and Pebble) as well as some chickens.
  
  While it is one, long building the property is divided into a family home at one end and a gite or holiday cottage at the other. The gite is generally taken up by paying guests in July and August.
  
  Nearby you can take part in kayaking, canoeing, horse or pony riding or a "parcours dans les arbres" (zip wires, rope ladders etc) suitable for children as young as three, visit the dinosaur park or the Parc de la Prehistoire. Alternatively you might like to take it easy the excellent spa at Ax-les-Thermes with both indoor and outdoor thermal pools. Skiing is also available at Ax Les Thermes- less than one hour away.

  While the house itself feels miles from anywhere, in fact it is just ten minutes drive from the market town of Pamiers with a market three times a week, supermarkets, boulangeries, pharmacies etc.

  Help

  We can offer accommodation to inviduals or couples willing to help with cleaning , painting and/or outdoor tasks such as mowing, clearing leaves etc for a maximum of two weeks. We do not need childcare or offer longer-term stays. Currently looking for a practical individual or couple for April, May or June for help with basic DIY, ironing, cleaning and around the garden.

  We can drop you at the local train station from where you can go North to Toulouse and then Carcassonne or South to Foix and Ax Les Thermes. There are also various walks and in summer our swimming pool is available.
