  • Description

    Hello,

My name is Charlotte, I'm 32 and I'm planning to spend 4 months in Italy and then one month in United Kingdom (to improve my english).
I'm a very curious person who loves to learn! If I could, I would study all my life and start a new experience every three months ;)

I left France the 11th of april, and since that I'm making a workaway in Sicilia in a farm of animals. I'm looking for a workaway from the 20th of may to the 2nd of june alone. And then with one of my friend we look for a workaway from the 3rd of june to the 25th of june (more or less). The dates may change slightly at your convenience. I'm looking for a place where i will speak most of the time in italian.

    Project objectives:
Thanks to this short experience, I want to discover different types of jobs, different people, different ways of life, different know-how, different cultures, different ways of thinking... All this makes me happy and nourishes me enormously. I want to give myself the time and opportunity to think about my future, my personal and professional future. Too big a programme for just 4 months, but I can't wait to get started!

    Who I am:
I don't think I have any particular expertise, but I love to learn. So I'm hoping that my people skills can counterbalance my lack of expertise. I'm empathetic, enthusiastic, sensitive, sociable, funny and smiley. I think I can contribute to a good group spirit. I'm a very curious person who likes to meet new people. Spending several days on my own makes me completely sad. I love to laugh and make people laugh, I love it when everyone feels good, I love sharing with other people and making each moment together unique. I love discovering very different people and writing their portraits. So going away thanks to Workaway will be an opportunity to continue this portrait project.
I'm interested in our world, the future, living together, solidarity and ecology. I feel very concerned by current issues and the ways in which I can contribute to a better world.
I'm a bit of a child myself, so I love playing with them. I regularly look after two of my nieces, aged 2 and 6. They're really cute and I love spending time with them! I would be happy to spend time with chidren during my 'workaway' experience. I find the moments with the children really authentic, spontaneous and joyful.
On the other hand, when I was growing up, we had lots of animals, so I fell in love with them. We had dogs, cats, various hamsters, turtle doves, a big aquarium with lots of fish.... I like to roam around so I only have a cat now named Patoon that loved very much, and if I were a bit more sedentary, I'd dream of having also a dog! Preferably a big, soft dog!
I like writing, taking the time to look at the stars at night, and I like to try my hand at a variety of creative activities. These weeks, I start painting and drawing (even though I don't paint very well).
I'm interested in personal development and well-being. I'm at a stage in my life where I'm analysing my childhood, how I manage my emotions, and how that impacts my life today.

I will be delighted to help you in your daily life, to live in the heart of an Italian and/or English family, to take part in a cultural project, to take part in a social project, to teach French, to learn Italian, living in a "community", living with people I wouldn't have been able to meet in my everyday life... etc. and other types of project that I'm not even aware of. I have a very wide range of projects!

    First volunteering ?
I've travelled to many, many countries. I've already done some voluntary work in photography, video and writting in Peru for several months, which I really enjoyed. I really enjoy editing videos and taking pretty pictures in my spare time.

    Why Italy ?
Italy is a country I've been particularly fond of since I was a little girl, so I'm taking some time off work to take the plunge this year and spend several months there. It will be a chance for me to immerse myself in Italian life, to really live there, to meet new people and, above all, to practise my Italian. I love this hummable language. I've been learning it since I was 15 and for 8 years. With time I forgot it a bit, so now I need to practise so that it's learned properly.
To be more precise about my italian attraction: I started studying Latin at the age of 12 and it was during this course that I became fascinated by life in Roman times and all its remains. Then that year I went on a trip to Rome with my Latin class, and I found the city incredible. I asked my father if we could visit the rest of Italy that summer and we drove around for three weeks. Since that year, Italy has never left my heart and I go there regularly. I love the Italian warmth, the atmosphere, the food, the heritage...

I think what I secretly dream of is living in Rome. So I'd really like one of my workaways (I think I could do several) to take place in ROOOME!

    And after this experience ?
I hope to be able to create a collection of portraits that I have written. I also hope that this experience will have helped me to define more clearly the life I want to live. In the immediate future, when I get back, I want to fit out a lorry so that I can have more adventures in my daily life, despite my sedentary job.

More details about my language interests
I can teach my mother tongue, French. I can also teach English for beginners. This is something I've done every Wednesday for several years to help young people feel less afraid of English and be able to practise it when they travel. I organised fun activities to get them excited about speaking and practising English.
