Description
My name is Art. I'm an Japanese-speaking America-born French-Canadian from Australia living in Vietnam. I know, it confuses me too. Mostly I think of myself as an Australian with something of a North-American accent. But the truth is, I feel like a foreigner no matter where I am.
I am committed to Nomi, a Vietnamese, Cantonese and English speaking Vietnamese woman who grew up in Hong Kong.
I really enjoy a good night out with friends. Or a good night in with friends; as long as there's good food, good wine, good beer, and good company. I'm not a chatterbox, but not an introvert either.
And I'm not spiritual, but I believe in ghosts. Especially after a good bottle of Shiraz.Types of help and learning opportunities

The area around our house is busy enough. There are many local restaurants and grocery stores. We sometimes venture a bit further to visit the Japanese izakayas, yakitori, and sushi/sashimi restaurants. And there are a several western restaurants, sports bars, and music venues withing walking distance. If you want real Vietnamese food, Nomi can either cook it or take us to where it is.
Help
I'm really looking for capable carpenters, woodworkers, and furniture makers. I have a number of furniture building projects on my list, mainly using recycled timber. My workshop is a work in progress, and probably priority 1. I'm sure I have most of the tools needed, and I'll buy more as the projects demand. I'm still looking for the right planer/thicknesser.
Some of the projects are big, so we'd prefer it if you can stay for at least 1 week.
In return, we can offer you a comfortable, private room with a double bed and a private bathroom.
And you will be well fed. There are lots of local western & Vietnamese bars & restaurants to take up your free time, and a well equipped kitchen & BBQ at home that you can use on your own, work with us to create some great comfort food, or leave it to me & Nomi & we'll get you fed. ;-)Languages spoken
