Marta once apologized for not being a real backpacker and being wildly out of place at our hostel, but we don’t think that’s true. Especially because she said that 3 weeks after we’d already accepted her as one of our own. We’ve had ALL KINDS of folks, some same same, some different. We’d never pack as many shoes as Marta would, but she’d never be out of place here… unless we hiked a mountain with our luggage 😂 We’d have her back anytime, and recommend you do, too. She took quickly to assignments, has a great sense of humor, and a big heart. She’s real (if you are, too), professional (we always are), and a flexible yoga teacher (Never, in a million, us). We had a lot of deep conversations and light-hearted jokes. Most importantly of all, she has a beautiful song in her heart, and is always singing. She WILL be your best Karaoke singer. Had an amazing experience here. The hosts, manager, guests and the vibe is incredible. The hostel itself is huge and the work around is quite chilled with 3 shifts in a week. Loved the family dinners and the activities with the guests. Does feel like one big family. Met some amazing friends and I want to keep coming back to this place.

I stayed with Tom, Steff, Eli and the animals for 2 weeks. My work mainly consisted of gardening. Sometimes Tom and Steff took me with them to show me beautiful places on the Island, for which I'm very grateful! We had a lot of fun playing Board games, cooking, baking or doing creative tasks. I was able to learn a lot about myself and collect memories that will always have a special place in my heart⛰️🤿 I will miss the time!

I had an amazing time at the hostel! The help is very easy serving breakfast where you always get to know new people. Easy cleaning tasks and helping the stuff changing bed sheets and sometimes a few hours at the reception. The people who work for Evelyn and Evelyn herself are very nice and friendly you feel so welcomed from day one. It’s a big family and the volunteer work is very much appreciated. You’ll have plenty of free time to make tours or travel around Arequipa. It’s a good vibe place I made many friends there, other volunteers and guests. Highly recommend it and I’ll come back for sure. It’s also a good place to improve your spanish 😉.

Our experience in the camp was perfect. Since the first day we felt warmly welcomed in this beautiful place. We learned about nature, animals of the area and we were honor to share our time with local people felling a deeper understanding of Thai culture. On the other hand we were able to develope educational skills working with kids and learning new construction tecnics on bamboo. Mike and the staff created a very nice vibe to work around and they trusted us with independence, confidence. The bungalow is perfect, super confortable, the food is amazing and the ubication is in middle of nature, very near from the Nathional Park and some bars and restaurants. Giorgos and Kyveli are the most wonderful hosts! They are generous, easy going, fascinating and caring people. I felt welcomed and at home from the moment I arrived and did not want to leave at the end of my 10 day stay, feeling I had made a group of dear friends in a special place. It is well managed, and smooth running despite being off the beaten track. The work is satisfying and varied, and Giorgos left us a lot of freedom and flexibility in what tasks we did and how, and he always took into account everyones' abilities, skills and preferences. The camp and facilities though simple and basic, are very comfortable and to me felt luxurious. The location is idilic and for someone who loves nature, peace and quiet and a slower pace of life, this is the perfect place to be. Everyday Kyveli cooked the most delicious and healthy Greek food, (which I'm now taking much inspiration from) and mealtime was always a joyful moment of getting to know each other, learning about Greek culture, sharing stories and laughing together. After only a few days in our group of 5 WorkAwayers we felt like close friends and during the whole stay communal living was easy and everyone felt respected and celebrated for being themselves which is not always a given and something I greatly appreciated. We also got lucky enough to be part of some village events and concerts which was a nice way to experience the local culture and community. What Giorgos and Kyveli are building is so unique and beautiful, and I hope I get lucky enough to come back someday soon! I truly cannot recommend this place enough!!! Thank you both for the hospitality and great company :)

The almost two weeks with Samuel were great. We learned French together, cleaned out the basement, dismantled the chicken coop, cooked, ate, played music, talked and laughed. He brought a wonderful atmosphere into our house. We hope to see each other again and will definitely stay in touch. Thank you for everything, dear Samuel!

I had a great time at the farm! Eneko taught me a lot and I learned so much useful things for life and for my studies. And I got to try very nice Basque food. I felt welcomed and taken care of. I also appreciate that Eneko and the family was flexible with me only staying for ten days. I hope to see you again in the future! Eskerrik asko!

I am really surprised with the feedback Lydia left for me. I mowed the lawn, weeded the whole front yard, walked the dog, cooked many meals, cleaned the house and kept care of it during her absent. There were no expectations mentioned apart from doing what she told me to, which I always did properly. I cannot leave her review unanswered since it projects a wrong image about me.

Kata was the perfect workaway. She has a great energy, she's very thoughtful, helpful, friendly but also independent. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit, we miss her now she's gone!

Although it was only two short weeks, my time shared with the boys in Huanchaquito was excellent. Playing games, assisting homework, and teaching English with the boys promptly made me feel like part of the MDN family, and the chicos quickly became like my little brothers. Each kid has a distinctive personality, so it is super easy for volunteers to establish a particular connection with any one of the boys. Mhairi and Mariano were great at supporting us volunteers in our assistance of the children and in getting situated in Huanchaco. This opportunity was a fantastic way to spend my time in Huanchaco away from surfing, and I hope to return back for a longer time with the little dudes in the future.

What can I say about this Workaway that hasn't already been said by the 30+ others! I absolutely loved my time in this hostel in Mostar. Fedja is very clear in his instructions & the work was really enjoyable. He made me feel at home and so welcome right away. He's a really funny and interesting guy, and to be able to go on his Hercegovina tour was definitely a highlight. Everything was as described on the profile - The work involves checking guests in & out, cleaning the rooms and sorting laundry. Very reasonable! There were 2 other Workawayers while I was there so the workload was split very fairly & I still had a lot of my own time to explore the area. I highly recommend this Workaway. Claudia is a wonderful woman with a nice smile, she helps me in the garden and made a wonderful painting on the door very artistic. It was a pleasure to meet her, I recommend 100 %

Valentina is a great girl. Very bubbly, what she lacked in skill she made up in enthusiasm with a good attitude. A pleasure to have around. Once given her tasks she got on with them happily.

Tanja is an open mind with good heart, she is amazing in painting and diy she has a wonderful dog, very quiet and calm nice to have them around

Elisabeth came to stay at short notice when her travel plans changed unexpectedly while her partner John was at sea. She was a very pleasant house guest and helped out with cooking, housework and garden work and even some bush work! I was impressed with her quiet determination to conquer an overgrown flagstone path, some track clearing and even helped me with a 4wd recovery. She is also good with a pressure washer and made an old ramp to look like new. I particularly liked her ability to impartially and pleasantly make her point when we had some different perspectives on the world. I enjoyed our week together and recommend her highly.

It was an absolute delight to host Leti. If you are lucky enough to have her contact you don’t hesitate to accept her as a workaway guest 😁

I am very happy with the time I spent at Ian and Lucy's house. They are very nice and always attentive to our needs, I felt very welcome by them and their family (Mili and Fraya, lovely girls, thank you for the delicious birthday cake 💞) They are very hardworking, every day by our side or attended to the daily tasks like shopping, cooking, cleaning, etc. In our free time they were always willing to take us to one of the nearby towns or to the beach, in case they couldn't come with us they gently leave us at the train station to take a walk on our own and then picked up. I have nothing but words of thanks to them. Their house is lovely and the accommodation is very comfortable. The green garden, the pool, the natural environment... convey a lot of peace and tranquility. During this month I have done painting, gardening and cleaning tasks. The work was very organized and Ian was worried that we were happy with the work and giving each of us the task that best suits our skills. In the evenings we had dinner with the family and the other volunteers, all together, it was a very pleasant and collaborative climate. And sometimes we played table games after dinner. Time flew by, a wonderful experience. Thank you very much ☺️🙏🏼💞
