Jeanne is a very nice person, a good company, a good cooker and knows how to keep the house organized and clean. She helps a lot in processing food and always was prepared to any task. I super recommend Jeanne.

Oh, where can I begin? I went here as the Nanny for Chel and Ian's son Socrates and had the most amazing time. Little Socco is so precious and we had an absolute blast romping around in the woods every day! Chel was especially communicative of boundaries and requests when it came to Socco's care, which was really awesome as a caregiver. I lived in the loft of the lodge for a few months and then moved to the caretakers cottage toward the end of my stay. Both of which were wonderful accommodations in their own way. The community here is also so awesome! I met some amazing friends, and really enjoyed living in community with all the others on the land. We often had communal dinners, game nights and my personal favorite, art nights! I can't recommend it enough! So happy to have a little family on the West Coast!

Rose is a very nice person. She did a beautiful vídeo about project. She worked a lot (more than an agreement) in this job and stay here until finish it. I recommend Rose.

I have such an amazing time here for the past 8 weeks. This will defineitly not be my last time here and I hope I remain a friend of Francoise and the cats and dogs for life. The days are hot, but the tasks are easy, I often found myself staying extra time or working shifts on my days off because I loved just being at the sanctuary. There are things to do on the island, but I have loved staying local, and truly living the thai life. This is defineitly somewhere to immerse yourself with the locals and in the expat community. I have made so many great friends and my time here has been so special. All of the dogs and cats are the sweetest little souls and I love gaining the trust of the more shy dogs as they have got to know me better. I will miss this place so so much, thank you Francoise for everything you do and I hope to be back soon 💗

I stayed with Susan for a month She’s a friendly, kind, easygoing and an amazing cook as well. The task was easy, I shaved the snow, cleaned, and helped bring some groceries. Myself and my girlfriend spent 6 amazing weeks at Nadine's beautiful home. During our arrival, one of Nadine's daughters Titaua was super with her communication and made us feel very comfortable when we arrived. She introduced us to all the animals and most importantly with Ours and Yoyo their two wonderful dogs which you'll get to know very well! She showed us around the living area for the workaway's in the 3rd floor west wing of the house which is conformable and has its own on-suite bathroom, a separate bathroom for the other spare room plus a kitchen for workaways to cook their meals. The grounds around the house are vast and calm as are the surrounding areas which make for fantastic walks. The work itself mainly consisted of doing a daily routine of the animals which made up small parts throughout the day (walking the dogs, feeding the chickens, donkeys, horses and ducks etc...). Depending on how many workawayers are with you you can spit these tasks up between you while another does other tasks such as mowing the grounds, fixing little broken things, weeding & painting etc. The hosts are happy to let the workaways manage this ourself's as to give us more flexibility which was useful. Once in a rhythm and with a schedule, the work is very peaceful and manageable. Titaua is very honest in her workaway profile about Ours before hand and with good reason. Ours although magnificent in his own way does require a lot of patience and love. Due to his type of breed, he is incredibly stubborn and proud so sometimes going for a walk with him can be tricky when he decides he doesn't want to go but Titaua will show you tips in helping to communicate best with him. Yoyo is very much a loving, playful dog who is very easy to connect with and will always be glad to be walked. As we had our own car, getting around was no issue however Nadine will gladly take you to the supermarkets weekly and sometimes the markets on a Saturday should you need. The area itself is beautiful and if you do have a car you'll be within decent driving distance to a lot of great places in the south of France. Having said that, even spending time around the area of the house is more than enough if you enjoy the peace and calm of the French countryside. Nadine and her two daughters would regularly show their gratitude to us which was a nice touch as not many hosts take the time to say thank you to workawayers. Nadine would often invite us for a coffee or a glass of her own wine and a quick chat to discuss all sorts of things. She even took us to the cinema twice! Although Nadine doesn't speak much English, she can speak a little German which my girlfriend can speak so although sometimes a little tricky, we always managed to find a way to communicate. Overall the experience was a beautiful one which holds a place in my heart. I hope to one day come back (having learned more French!) and cuddle with all the animals again! ❤️🌺

I stayed with Rene for two weeks He’s a friendly, kind, easygoing and happy guy and an amazing cook as well The task was easy, I shaded one piece of furniture, cleaned, painted the wall and put some tile on the wall as well.. We had a great month with Mundo del Ninos: the organization’s impact on the lives of the boys cannot be overstated. All of the staff are amazing, and Mhairi was super helpful answering all of our questions and providing us with information on the town itself. The boys are really sweet and fun, and there is never a dull moment. When we volunteered, the work was always in the afternoons (after school), and consisted of a mix of helping them with their homework, playing games and hanging out in the home, and occasional activities outside of the home, such as surfing or playing soccer. Having at least a conversational level of Spanish is honestly essential as the boys, of coarse, only speak Spanish. Huanchaco is a cool little town with an impressive amount of good restaurants and some great surfing (this is really the main thing to do in the town). There are a number of day trips in the area to ruins and such as well.

To any workawayers trying to decide where to stay, I can't recommend this home enough. My original intentions were to get my work done and spend every available second traveling but soon after arriving I began wanting to just enjoy the space an ever increasing amount. The home and space Steve and Rob have created is so welcoming, kind, and friendly and simply relaxing there after the work was enough of a reward. They both are willing to teach and help you along with the work they ask of you and thankfully let you participate in their grand art projects aswell. I was fed incredibly well and treated as a guest the entire time, I am forever grateful for my stay.

I had a great time working with fedja at his hostel! work hours are as advertised, and it’s very manageable work. the tour he runs was an incredible addition to go on, and he makes wonderful Bosnian coffee as well! i would absolutely recommend fedja as a host :)

It was a total pleasure to host Ben. He's has very good DIY skills and showed initiative to get things done. While he was here, Ben took on the project of weeding a stream that runs through the property as well as working on improving other landscaping projects. He showed great attention to detail and worked independently to solve problems. Ben is good company, super cheery and self responsible. He fit in very well with the house, was easy to get on with and respected all the house rules. It was fun to see the improvements Ben made on his Van during his stay here. He knows his way with a tool box. If you are lucky enough to have him contact you, I highly recommend him as a workaway guest. I’m looking forward to seeing you again Ben.

Lorena became more of a friend than a host, to start she picked me up at the station and took me birdwatching at the reservoir with Tula. We had fun baking some typical cake and spent time with her lovely family. For work I mostly helped to prepare the beds and areas for food growing, gardening and clearing the space. It's nice to work together and shes cares about the project a lot and works really hard too so it feels rewarding and purposeful work. The city Zafra about 40mins walking away is charming and not touristy and Lorena gave me rides with her to town and back when she went. The house is a very special place and you will be welcomed and comfortable with Lorena, Tula and the cats

It is really a wonderful place with an amazing family. I spent only a week-end with them but I learnt and shared a lot with them. They make me discovered their farm and the way they are living inside the Detif community. I recommand this place at 100%.

I've been at Miguel's place for 1,5 week and together with Miguel and the other workawayer Tim we were a really good team. I've worked on the construction of vertical pilers/beams for the purpose of insulation. In that time Miguel took excellent care of me. He's a nice easy going guy with an authentic laugh who gives you the space to work and to experiment on your projects. I recommend!

Leslie arrived on Mayo Day and later took part in the Fireworks Parade, which was such a super spectacular experience, so he came into town with a bang. I showed him the Peninsula where he blessed his eyes from the holy well, went through the window three times not to drown and made friends with a flock of sheep. I really enjoyed the day we went to Ceide Fields and Down Patrick Head, taking funny photos beside Dun Briste. On route we happened on an unusual but excellent exhibition in Ballinglen based on Japanese horror stories. We discussed what he had to do in the house and he was open to everything, even ironing for the first time. I made photos with instructions and when I was away he only contacted me if he needed clarification. He wasn't lonely because he's always doing something, meeting people, going to the gym or keeping Blaithin company. When the weather turned nice he and a friend hired bikes and went to the beach, but when I came back he had everything I asked done. Lesley is so easy to get on with, he's such a courteous young man, full of happiness and humorous in a nice way. We had a hilarious time at a public meeting to save the Men’s Shed. Lesley understands situations and enjoys the Irish way of life, like getting a free trip on the bus. I still don't understand how he missed seeing the Northern Lights, because everybody else saw them. Thank you Leslie for digging out the gunnera, moving the turf and cutting the brambles in the garden and for cleaning the switches, plastering the wall and painting my front doors. You were also a great help with finding the voice recording facility, narrating the German translation for my work and explaining the TV/DVD instructions. I wish you all the best on your Irish adventure. You were a pleasure to host.

It was a pleasure to have Luis and Julia here for 3 weeks. Hard workers, polite, respectful of your property and very nice to be around. I learned a lot from Luis 's knowledge in gardening and landscaping and enjoyed having Julia helping me with horses. Our dogs are missing them already!. We had lots of work to do rebuilding a retaining wall and they did amazing. We really appreciated their help and having them at the ranch, we accomplished a lot in 18 days. They kept their accommodation super clean which we appreciate a lot. We're wishing them good luck with their adventure in Canada and highly recommend them!
