Kia ora! My name is Mariel and I am a 33-year-old Data Analyst who lives & works in New Zealand. I returned to school after years in the hospo industry and did a Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science at Victoria University. I have resided in Wellington for 7 years - 2 with my parter, Mike (37 yo, Environmental Scientist) - and we are about to embark on a 9 month sabbatical in South America! We are looking to use Workaway to make connections and build new skills.

26-year-old service industry worker who graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a major in Economics and a minor in Math. Before quitting my job, I worked at a farm-to-table restaurant and nannied on the side for a 16-month-old and a 3-year-old. This is my first extended solo trip, and it has definitely been an adventure so far. I plan on traveling a bit before going home to study for grad school.

As for WorkAway opportunities, we are most interested in jobs where we can work with our hands and learn new skills. We love animals and being outside, so jobs that incorporate those elements would be amazing! I have years of cooking experience and we are both fastidiously tidy. In our free time, we love to work out, cook meals, drink wine, go for walks and read.
