Description

My name is Declan, I am an Irish National and have been living in Brighton, on and off for the last 14 years...some time in Ireland, some in New Zealand and some in France..... I am 46 years old.

Over the last three years I have been working mainly as a painter and decorator. Before this I was working and living at the Brighton Bodhisattva Buddhist Meditation Centre. Whilst living here I was involved in many different projects. These included working in the busy on site World Peace Café, Building Projects, Garden maintenance and all aspects of housekeeping for a residential community of 30 people. I was also involved in helping run busy weekend retreats where we could have up to 150 people to cater for. I enjoy being part of something that helps people help themselves.

I have lived and worked in New Zealand, New York, Germany, Scotland, England and of course Ireland. I love meeting people and whilst living at the Buddhist centre I have been blessed to have met people from all over the world who all have a story to tell.

I am an honest person with a good work ethic, and meet every one with an open heart.

I have managed bars and restaraunts in New Zealand and Scotland.
I have a University degree in Geography and Archaeology.
I have worked in an office, been a painter and decorator, gardener, designed and sold t-shirts, been a cleaner, a University Tutor, worked in shops, other stuff....Basically I have tried a lot and hopefully I shall keep on trying.
I am good with people and in one of my last jobs, at the Buddhist Centre I supervised and worked with many volunteers.

I am interested in the world, its people and its cultures. Also whats going on now, both near to me and far away, I'm interested in people and their stories. I like stories. I like to read. I love nature. The essence of it all. I would like to walk and travel around learning new skills and just being, No stress. I love music. FIP is my favourite radio station, BBC 6 too. I love football and most sports. Walking in nature and dipping in the sea my more frequent hobbies of the exercise type. I do Yoga occasionaly, cycle around frequently and would love to learn Tai Chi.
