Hello, I'm Tom! I recently quit my 9-5 office job to travel the world for many years to come. I'm looking for honest work and will give you my best effort everyday. I'm a diligent and conscientious worker who likes to learn new skills. My biggest asset is my work ethic plus I have the ability to prepare delicious meals!

I'm a fit and athletic person so I really enjoy the outdoors especially going on treks and hikes. My biggest trek was in Nepal up Annapurna base camp (4105 meters). It took us 4 days to climb up and three days down and I loved the challenge and the beautiful nature. I'm open to new experiences so will give anything a try at least once.

Mostly, I really enjoy being around people and getting to know someone through conversation, coffee and a good meal. I'm still learning about myself and working on my flaws and I hope having Workaway experiences will help me on this journey.

Ultimately, I'm looking to explore new countries, cultures and to meet new people for long lasting friendships along the way.

I believe once you make a connection of a faraway friendship they are for life.

I quit my day job in December 2023 and decided to travel the world to learn new cultures, make friends and enjoy everything life has to offer. I have some culinary skills in French, Italian and Chinese cuisine so would be a huge asset in preparing food for up 30 people. I'm physically fit (180 cm and 75 kgs) and can perform tasks lifting up to 50 kgs. I'm wiling to do general labour but really enjoy working with people as well.

I have experience with some farm work (my last host taught me how to drive a tractor) and working with honey bees collecting honey from the fields and extracting the honey in the shop. I spent two summers doing this while in high school so I know how it feels to get stung 10 times a day.

I was born in Vietnam and moved to Canada when I was 5 so I'm a Canadian at heart. I grew up in a large family (8) and have a positive view of the world. I sincerely believe kindness is what matters most in interacting with people.

I'm a travel bug through and through and have been to the following countries: UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
