CURRENT MISSION OF A WAZI FAMILY:
To discover hidden corners of the world, other people and ourselves :). To grow as loving human beings and parents, to learn from our kids (twins Rebecca and Jonathan, born in November 2017, and Anna born in 2020) and to present the world to them so that they are open to challenges, diversity and connection.

    ABOUT US
    MARIJA
During my first Camino to Fisterra I discovered that I am a pilgrim for all of the days of my life - Soy peregrina para todos los dias de mi vida. Meaning change brings me excitement, and I am most alive when discovering. Becoming a mother brought 3 more curious beings on my way, with whom I continue what I enjoy the most - living and exploring off the grid with my husband, building the community in our small town, running Narana NGO and zero waste charity shop ( https://www.facebook.com/naranahustopece) while being a social entrepreneur and having a rolled ice-cream stand https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100094205632295) . I am a trainer in nonformal education in Erasmus+ (https://www.salto-youth.net/tools/toy/marija-wazi.4318/) and a supervisor of a team of Ukrainian psychologists in Brno city. I am enjoying homeschooling of our kids (we have a community homeschooling group) and delivering workshops and lectures on diverse topics in sustainable life style and non-violent communication.
Volunteering has been a fun and crucial part of my life, I have started being 13 and have continued ever since. Spent a year as European Voluntary Service volunteer in Netherlands, than a year via Grundtvig program in Romania. I have co-founded 3 NGOs based on volunteering and Workaway is another way to contribute to the world while learning anormously.
Being in nature all alone is unforgettable, so I do run from society to the forest when needed.

VLASTIMIL - eco green builder, adventurer and free-lancer
Being curious about people of the world, not that much about internet world and social media. Finished studies in construction and currently is passionate about building all kinds of houses etc with natural or recycled materials. Fascinated by perma culture and human development. Long-term interested in: music (playing and composing for guitar and trumpet), outdoor (mountains and wild), cooking (better than Marija :D), creating and accepting challenges.

    HOW COME WORKAWAY:
We have spent a year on WA before kids and we loved it! Unforgettable experience, it shaped our future literally, as while doing WA in Australia we realized we want to live close to nature, bought our land on distance and started to live there with twins already born :).
We have been hosting workawayers since the first summer, our yurt has welcomed great people. And now we feel that we want to experience being volunteers ourselves again, and show this path to our children.

  • What else ...

    VLASTIMIL

I am better with actions than words and with music than art :). I am most joyful while being surrounded by nature and passionate about do it yourself projects. Trumpet and guitar are my companions and my kids are testing both my patience and capacity to learn and care. I am fond of natural materials of all sorts and enjoy having freedom and responsibility to create on my own.

    MARIJA

I am focusing on combining motherhood and still being Marija with her dreams, passions and interests for the past 6 years. I find human connections amazing, as I have lived in five countries I found home in all of them. And although during the last two years my heart is turn apart due to the pain my family members and dear friends experience in war in Ukraine where I come from, I am truly hopeful about what life brings us next.
