Hi! I am Sander, 23 years old and I come from the Netherlands. I like to travel and experience new things. I am super interested in meeting people from other cultures and to learn about other cultures in general. I also love languages, and by this I mean deciphering the languages and the origins and of course speaking foreign languages as this allows me to understand more of the world around me by meeting new people with whom I otherwise could not talk.


I was a volunteer in Italy for 6 months in 2017, when I was 17 years old. this was the beginning of my interest for other cultures and since then I became interested in the different opportunities to go abroad and when I found workaway I was almost immediately dreaming about going abroad again, after a year of studying. I used workaway twice in 2019 and have met some amazing people over the course of the short 2 month period in which I used workaway. Afterwards, I started studying and COVID happened so I did not have the change to really go abroad for an extended period. Thanks to my study programme I was able to study in Indonesia for 5 months in 2022, which again revived my interest of meeting people from different cultures and the wish to work abroad in the future. I finished my bachelor and will start my master in September 2023, hence I would love to go abroad for the few weeks between the end of my current job and the beginning of my masters programme.

I love languages and I would love to teach English or Italian (or Dutch)! I have some experience teaching language to high school kids in Italy when I was around 18 and 19 years old; and I really liked doing it.

I like to converse about basically anything. It can be something I have knowledge of, but new subjects also intrigue me! I also love playing chess with people and I cannot deny that I have played my fair share of UNO games!
