Description

Following Covid, I retired from my job as a Health Service Payroll Manager in Northern Ireland.
I have been living in New Zealand since October 2023. My two grown up sons, two granddaughters and one grandson all live in Christchurch.
During my time here, I babysit my grandchildren and help around the house(s) in order to give the sleep deprived parents a break.
I also house/pet sit for families in Christchurch so that I can retain my independence whilst still being near my family.
Pre Covid, I took a career break and with the help of Workaway travelled to South Asia where I taught conversational English in Western Java, and Vietnam.
I also had a Workaway stay in Perth, Australia in 19th December 2018. The tasks included general housework and keeping the pool and outside area clean. There was also a project which involved dismantling an Aviary. Following that I house/cat sat for a lady in Perth while she went back to New Zealand for Christmas.

About me:
I like to keep fit. I eat healthy food and love the outdoors, including the garden, hills, beaches or parks. I practice Yoga, Pilates, attend the gym 3 times a week and I don't smoke.

I have carried out voluntary work in Northern Ireland, setting up one of the first Integrated Primary Schools there.
I have also dog/cat sat and volunteered in a Community Garden whilst in New Zealand.
In 2017. I taught English to business professionals in Spain and in August 2018 I volunteered to help with English lessons in Java. I hold a TEFL certificate.
My career path was in Finance (payroll) and I hold an Accounts Technician Diploma. I have previously worked overseas in an Administration role for a UK travel company and as a receptionist in a 4*️️️️️️️️ Hotel near my home.
My hobbies are travel, trekking, reading and yoga. (I hold a Yoga Teacher Training Diploma).
I also want to improve my Spanish as 2 of my grandchildren are bi-lingual.

I am enthusiastic about life, respectful of others, love meeting people and hearing their stories and thrive on new opportunities and experiences.

People say I am a typical homemaker. I can cook, sew, look after children, and am handy in the garden. Outside the home I can teach English have Finance and Administration skills and am computer literate.
