Description
Hi, I'm Amy! I'm an English teacher and have spent the last decade traveling, working, and volunteering across Africa, Asia, and South America. I enjoy meeting new people, learning languages, and hopefully giving back more to this world than I'm taking out of it. I am CELTA certified English teacher with seven years of experience teaching English to children and adults worldwide.

For the past two years, I have been in the U.S. working on my master's degree in education and teaching English to adults online. I have met some fantastic Turkish students online who inspired me to come to Türkiye! I plan to visit Türkiye for three months (September -December 2023) to explore different cities and study Turkish. If I enjoy my time in Türkiye as much as I expect, I will look for a job as an ESL instructor at a local university or English center next year, 2024.

I am open to various volunteer opportunities to teach English in Istanbul, Izmir, and other nearby cities. I am considering both short- and long-term positions. I hope to continue teaching online for 5-10 hours per week, so I would prefer accommodation with a private room where I can work, but I am also open to shorter stays in shared accommodation. In my free time, I hope to do yoga, study Turkish, explore local attractions, and try Turkish coffee and food!
