Hello there 👋 ✨

We are easygoing, openminded and social people. Spending time outside, work with our hands, be in touch with the natural surroundings, learn new skills and meet new friends is what makes us happy. Together we have a bunch of (travel) experience and different complementary skills: cooking, gardening, teaching, organising events, mechanic repairs, etc.

We are working towards a more simple & holistic lifestyle in a place focussed on natural farming, wellbeing, sustainability and where we can hold space for people working while (re)connecting to themselves, others and the earth. Oh - and we LOVE animals 🐾.

We think volunteering is a great chance to immerse in a local community, connect and learn. We can't wait to explore a lot of nature, we love it all from the beaches to the (snowy) mountains, and meet new people. We see such amazing projects on Workaway, it is already very inspiring.

🌳 A little bit more about: Anouk a.k.a. 'the do-er'

I grew up in a tiny village in The Netherlands and as a teenager I worked for a family helping around the garden and house, did babysitting and took care of their horse (and dogs). This was my first (and actually most favorite) job. I love the outdoors and animals. Not afraid of hard work and getting my hands dirty. I also worked in hospitality and always enjoyed working with people and making sure they are having a great time.

Further I have big passion for sustainability, holistic health, writing, plant based nutrition (vegan) and Ayurveda. In Amsterdam- I was in a volunteering committee for over 5 years for an anti- food waste and cooking facility. Weekly we cooked 50+ vegetarian/ vegan meals. Work wise I have a background in (digital) business proces optimization, design and customer experience.

⚙️ Get to know: Mathew a.k.a. 'the learner'

I'm always striving to learn new things, from skills, foreign cultures, innovative technology, awesome music, or age old philosophy. Born and raised in Southern California, but spent my childhood summers living on my grandparent's farm in rural Japan. I (over)dedicated my twenties to a fruitful career marketing & advertising for some of the top brand names in the video game industry, and while I left that behind to work for myself and travel, I'm always happy to help consult on marketing strategy and share my experience to help grow your business.

I have a passion for fixing [old] cars or anything else that is broken and needs to be repaired. Also if there is any research on whatever topic that's need to be done, I'd be happy to assist.

As we traveled before to see the world's beauty we also realized our impact on the planet. We are mindful and conscious travellers and if possible try to find a balance in how we travel. By volunteering we want to connect and contribute to a local community, exchange ideas, get inspired (and hopefully inspire!) and learn new things to enrich our lives. Also we enjoy music (festivals), being in nature, surf, enjoy good food and our own kombucha!
