The stay with the Leo + Anna and 3 kids was very amazing and there was a lot of interesting work which was fueled by delicious food prepared by Anna from local ingredients. The both Leo and Anna are very versatile and hard working persons. It was really good exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience. We enjoyed this big family and also grandparents were awesome. Also nice lakes and mountains were very close, so there was always something new to discover. For our kids it was paradise full of tractors, animal care and new experience under the leadership of farmer Jakob and his assistant Johannes. And princess Paula was always wonderful with anything what she did. We recommend this family to other families. We wish you all the best with the new projects and see you soon!

It was such a pleasure having Mathilde & David come to stay. They are such lovely people, really nice to be around, easy-going and positive. I had a list of tasks to choose from, and they completed much more than expected, their work was so appreciated. They are both hardworking and thoughtful, trustworthy, and independent in enjoying their time in the city. I highly recommend Mathilde & David to anyone, and would love to have them back if their travels bring them this way again.

For workawayers: If you are looking for the perfect workaway hosts then look no further. These guys truly know what makes a successful workaway experience and what doesn't. They are super clear about what the exchange is (which is more than reasonable) and very flexible around the non-essential part of the daily schedule. I enjoyed the work whether feeding the animals, preparing the winter beds or chopping back unrulely trees along the road. Food was delicious, bed super comfy, the company very lovely. They went out of their way to include me in their lives and show me around their beautiful corner of Italy - which I loved! Mattia and Jana Thank you...no, no really thank you! You are some of the most friendly, generous, intelligent and outright funny people I've met in a very long time. It was a total pleasure to witness the lives you have created from scratch and be apart of it. The world needs more of you two 💖

I had a wonderful three weeks staying with Giulia and her family. From the moment I arrived, Giulia welcomed me into her home with kindness and made me feel part of the family. My main job I had was too entertain and look after Violante, who is there smart and joyful little girl. it was such a pleasure spending time with her and helping out around the house. Giulia is incredibly generous, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. She made sure I was comfortable, helped me with my Italian, and gave me a true perspective of Italian life. I’m so grateful for the time I spent there and would absolutely recommend staying with Giulia to anyone who has the chance. It was an experience I’ll never forget!

Gintare and Daniellius are two extremely generous peoples ; generous with their own time, knowledge, and more generaly, with themselves. I really appreciate the way they interact with volunteers, making us feel immediately included in their life, like friends of family ; it is rewarding to be trusted as such. The work is also varied and interesting, especially because they explain the reasons behind it, which gives meaning to everything we do ! Thank you for all the discussions, the lessons learned, and for passing on your addiction to mushroom picking. And a kiss to sporgilele and kimchilele, whom I already miss!

My experience with Kim was fantastic! She has proven to be an extremely easy going person, full of skills and very proactive. Every idea or project was welcomed and demonstrated a strong determination to complete the objectives that we have defined together. His relationship with the other volunteers was excellent, a very familiar atmosphere was immediately created and this is thanks to his way of being! Kim respected the house in an excellent way, very clean, tidy and helpful. I could also write a lot more, I will leave my heartfelt desire to meet you again!

I spent a month at Limehurst Farm with Lisa, Bart, Tanner and Rosie, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect first Workaway experience. When I arrived, I had barely touched a sheep, and a month later I left feeling confident and genuinely in love with the farming lifestyle. My main task from the start was feeding the lambs three times a day, which I quickly came to enjoy. Later, after Bart’s training, I began doing my own daily “lambing beats” on the quad bike — checking the mobs still left to lamb and stepping in when needed. I got to help with stuck lambs, fix a uterine prolapse, and even lamb an ewe myself, which was high on my bucket list! We also had some amazing tailing days with family and friends, full of good vibes, snacks, and music. I’ve now added castrating, ear-tagging, ear-marking and vaccinating to my list of new skills. Lisa and Bart were incredible teachers — trusting me, giving me responsibility, and always making sure I learned as much as possible. They even let me visit other farms, watch Merino shearing, and join a dog neuter at the local vet. They were open to my ideas too, like when I did post-mortems on a calf and a lamb and we discussed the findings together. From the moment I stepped inside their home, I felt welcome. The family are warm, generous and full of life — I never lacked anything; there was always something tasty in the fridge and a lovely dinner waiting at the end of the day. I also got to celebrate my birthday and it almost felt like being home. They included me in trips to Christchurch, Hanmer Springs, and local hikes, which made my stay even more special. I’ll always remember my time at the Farm — not only for everything I learned, but for how much it shaped me personally and as a future vet. It gave me a true insight into New Zealand’s farming life and community, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I got to spend an incredible 3 weeks at Tobi's and Karin's place in Gruselsberg. They are such kind, fun and warm-hearted people and I felt welcome and at home straight away. I loved being up early every morning to prepare the food for the Oldies, and especially cleaning out the stables was so meditative. The hours are more than fair, I think on average I only worked around 3 hours per day, which meant I had a lot of free time to myself. They have 5 amazing dogs that I loved spending time with, and a lot of horses to cuddle or ride, if you're experienced. I even got to go on a ride through the woods with Tobi, which I enjoyed a lot. I can't recommend this workaway enough. You'll get to taste great vegetarian food, you get to meet awesome new people, there's a lot of beautiful nature walks to go on and animals to spend time with, and there's some fun board-games to play. I'm already looking forward to the next time I get to visit. Thank you for everything.

truly is a home away from home. cant wait to go back. this is such a welcoming opportunity for anybody wanting to experience a bit of rural india or work with kids in the public schools it felt like more of an act of service from yash and the family than from me. i learned a lot in the short amount of time i was there. yash is a happy, simple, but very knowledgable guy who likes to find souls wandering india and help them enjoy their experience more, in all ways. we had lots of fun conversations about life, travel, meditation, relationships, everyrhing. Naren felt like a little brother. we played cards and among us during the hot afternoons and after dinner. he went with me to the town when he didnt have school, to the fair, to go shopping, to show me around. very fun although his driving could use some work Arsha is super sweet and will make delicious food (breakfast around 8, lunch at 1, dinner at 8 or 9) and chai a few times a day. always sat with me while i ate i came on a week when the schools had holiday so we only went to school a few times. we drive an hour ish to the schools and taught one hour skating lessons to kids that were 10-15ish. i loved getting to skate with the kids, theyre all so sweet and resspectful, and get super happy when they learn. on days when we didnt go to the schools, yash gave me some tasks to do at the house just for a few hours a day. i helped him to sand down and repaint some cupboards. the rest of the day, you can take walks, read some of their books, hang out with the cat, play marbles with the neighbors. very chill place but also lots of fun. thank you guys for having me :) see you again

We had a great experience with Alejandro this summer. Communication was easy due to his good level of English and I also enjoyed practicing some Spanish with him and learning some differences about the Argentinian accent ;) He was always very attentive and responsive and we had fun chatting and visiting some local places together. He assisted with some DIY projects and design work. Thanks for the experience!

Amanda came with a travel companion who also workawayed with us, but as this is a single account we will only review Amanda (her travelling companion was awesome too!). We only knew Amanda for a short time, but it really felt like a lifetime. She a wonderful, open. communicative person who stole our hearts within minutes of being here. She also stole our dogs' hearts and tried to steal our dogs (like so many workawayers! :-) ... that is another story! She is solid worker, respectful, an excellent time-manager, very responsible, and during this difficult time for us personally, was the right person at the right time. It was also a delight to hear about her Italian experiences when she had days off, learning so many new things about our own country, due to her perspective. That was very cool. We were very sad to say goodby to Amanda, but (once we had checked there were no dogs in her backpack) we promised to meet again one day, and I think we will.!

We are so glad we chose Sultan, Aykut and their girls to be our first workaway experience. They very lovely guests, the communication was always great and we had a wonderful experience together. Aykut helped with some DIY projects in the garden and Sultan played with the kids and helped around the house. We can highly recommend inviting them to workaway for you and they also host workawayers, which surely would also be a great experience!

This was such an amazing work away and experience, and I really couldn't recommend it enough! The sisters are all incredibly nice and thoughtful, making sure I was always okay and had something to do - even allowing me to partake in study groups for theology and philosophy. The work was very enjoyable and I was even able to go into Münster for a day. The kitchen was always well stocked, the lunches were delicious, and the rooms and bathrooms were all clean and lovely! I also attended services in the chapel which were all incredibly beautiful and which I felt so welcomed to! I made such special memories which I will always cherish, and the sisters have a special place in my heart!! thank you

Where to begin? Nicki and Frank (Cranky to friends) were the right people at the right time. We were going through a rough patch in life, and they stepped up to the plate, being the most awesome workwayers and very special people who knew how to step in and run life when that was what was required. Their work experience shines through in the workaway environment, being excellent work-load managers, responsibile with their times, committed to getting their tasks done and completed. Age brings wisdom, and it is always wonderful to have workawayers who are clear to state what they can really get their teeth into and do well, and what they do not feel they can do in the proper way that they would like, and that is very much appreciated (and honestly there were not many times that happened). Their energy became the stuff of legends, with our 30-year-old workawayers trotting along behind them, claiming exhaustion! Nicki is always superwilling to step in and help with any extra things that need to be done, and Frank is always available to hoover up anything sweet that might be on offer! We feel very, very fortunate to have met this amazing couple and loved having them stay here.

Charlie and Irving spent 2 month in our house and we were more then happy to had this charming guys with us. Charlie was a great help at the breakfast service and did a fantastic job as the right hand of our kitchenchef Dietmar. He was a integral part of our team and quickly learned all the necessary procedures. His very open minded and sunny charakter was very well received by the guest as well as by the team and with his great sense of humor it was a pleasure and fun to work with him. The last two weeks of the season after our kitchenchief had to leave early, he even took over his part and managed the breakfast service almost independently and alone. He mastered this challenge with flying colors and also Charlie's artistic creations on the breakfast plates were a feast for the eyes. Charlie was accompanied by the equally sympathetic Irving. A warmhearted guy and funny fellow always willing to help wherever he could. We quickly took both to our hearts and also Irving became a member of the "crazy team" family. Thank you so much Charlie and Irving for joining us this year, for your skillfull help and above all your jokes and your sunny hearts that brightens our days! Er hat im Service in der Küche im Frühstücksbereich gearbeitet. Zum Ende der Saison hat er sogar die Frühstückszubereitung übernommen. Er hat seine Aufgabe hoch motiviert und engagiert ausgeführt. Er hat sich für alle Belange im Küchenbereich sehr interessiert und eigene Ideen eingebracht. Die Gäste haben sich sehr anerkennend über seine Tätigkeit geäußert. In unserer gemeinsamen Frühstücksrunde hat er uns über so manche spanische Leckerei erzählt. Durch seine positive zugängliche Art ist er sofort im Team angekommen. Wie Marine und Estelle werden wir auch ihn in allerbester Erinnerung behalten und würden uns freuen, ihn wieder bei uns zu haben. Christine

My partner Vernon and I spent 3 weeks volunteering at the school in Sukawati and it was a truly heartwarming experience: the kids are simply great! :) We were giving classes every day (Monday to Friday), I was with the older students (8-13 years old) while Vernon was with the younger ones (6-8 years old). I was assigned to the classes where Juli is the teacher and we were following the topics and worksheets of their book, but at the same time I was coming up with activities and games to integrate the lessons. It was really fun and the kids always willing to participate and learn! ❤️ The classes with the youngest kids were a lot of fun. Vernon was able to connect with the kids using games that he created that was adjacent to the lesson in the workbooks. When entering the class he had a very distinct way that he likes to introduce himself and after while they caught on and started mimicking. It was really funny! To be honest I wish i had longer with them. Outside of the greatness with the kids, he wishes there was a bit better communication on what the lesson would be ahead of time. There were times that he wouldn't know until the same day. He really likes having the time to create and come up with fun ideas. All in all, it was a great experience and when we will comeback to Bali we would love to teach there again! 🥰 We were staying at a Balinese traditional house which is so beautiful. We had our room and bathroom as described. The house is less than 10 minutes walk from the school, very convenient! :) At the school everybody was very nice and welcoming with us and we were having lunch at the school canteen on school days. Thanks so much Juli for having us, we hope to be back in Sukawati in the future! 🙏🏼

We stayed with Wenke, Meira and Lea for about a month during fall. It was overall a wonderful experience and we learned a lot about animal and pet care, gardening and the general way of living in the rural area of Derben. The family was lovely with us and made sure that besides the working hours we had our fair share of fun and adventure, driving us to and from the train station near by for city trips to Berlin and surrounding areas. The room was nice, cozy and clean and by far spacious enough for two people. We were especially thankful to be able to borrow working clothes, as that made things way easier for us! All in all we felt really welcome in the family and enjoyed our stay there - we would recommend staying to anyone who is looking for a nice getaway in the countryside and some great people to live with for some time :D

mma and Pawel review Staying in Eyeries with Emma and Pawel was my first Workaway experience and the best I could've asked for! when I arrived they welcomed me as if I were family and I knew right away I had hit the jackpot! Emma was very clear when she needed something done and I always knew what was asked of me! most of my tasks included being there for the boys when they got home from school, making dinner, getting the boys to bed, and sometimes other occasional tasks like laundry or vacuuming! They made sure to give me lots of time to explore and gave me lots of recommendations for what to see in the area! Emma gave me a schedule so I knew exactly when I needed to be around which was usually 3-4 nights a week! I had just about every morning off to explore! Emma and Pawel also included me in a family outing to visit friends and see and play live music! they are very musical and creative which was lovely to be around! I highly reccomend Emma and Pawel as hosts especially for someone who loves music and art and is looking to connect with nature!
