It was a great pleasure to have Tyra with us as our first workawayer on the project! Thanks to her hands-on yet thoughtful and creative mentality, we got a lot of work done during her one week stay, swinging hammers and exploring the poetics of space. She was such a good and cheerful company, helping with some tasks in our project house that might have just been dull and dirty, but turned out to be fun working on together. Tyra came as an open-minded, curious and engaged contributor and left as a dear friend and artist colleague who we sure hope to host again in the future.

Ho passato poco più di due settimane con Dario e Parvati, due persone fantastiche e molto disponibili, ricche di conoscenze su vari argomenti. Entrambi ti accolgono nella loro campagna incastonata in un fantastico scorcio nelle montagne granitiche della Gallura. Lavorando con Dario ho avuto l'opportunità di imparare i concetti dell'agricoltura rigenerativa e delle permaculture e attraverso il lavoro quotidiano ho potuto dare una mano ai vari progetti che Dario porta avanti Nel tempo libero ho passato dei bei momenti in compagnia di Dario e Parvati e dei loro amici; visitando spiagge mozzafiato, assaggiando piatti tipici del territorio e godendomi il panorama Grazie di tutto e alla prossima!

Firstly we would like to apologise to Matteo for the late review.We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Matteo for 3 weeks.This young man is the real deal-He is polite, reliable,intelligent,hard working and a joy to be around, he is also independent and a good cook,we are sure that everything Matteo turns his hand to will be a success as he applies himself and does his very best.He is the kind of young person that you don't encounter much these days, we have no hesitation to recommend him to any host, we really hope to have you back someday and you know our door is open anytime for you when you come back to Galicia,we wish you all the very best and we miss you !

I had a great time on the chestnut farm, Where around the fire Martin sang a good yarn. Made a new friend (or two, or three) Was sad at the end (can you blame me?) One day I’ll return to the charm of this cute and sweet Chestnut farm. In all seriousness — great time at the farm, I was there for chestnut season which was a blast. Highly recommend to anybody who doesn’t mind hard work and rustic living.

If you want to not just work but see someone who is living in their dream, you better consider this farm and this project and its owner Elisa. Don't expect too much about facilities there but think of how it can change your outlooking about your lifestyle. Elisa is a special person that thought me a lot. I tried my best in that short amount of time but still on every task we brainstorm together. Her ideas even about construction and copartners task were always inspiring and more efficient. I found her place so warm with a lot of animals and her kindness. We have done some works together and long joyful conversations on our breaks. Cultural exchange was the best part for me. Moreover, I must mention about here special project that when you get there and understand, you will see there are still people who care about their environment and new generations. I will hold special place in my memories of Elisa and her project and her farm.

Elliot was a great volunteer. He is an easy going person who is very kind and thoughtful. He helped us alot here at the school. His mastery of the English language helped him give great structured lessons to our students which were very beneficial! He is a highly skilled musician and he ran multiple music clubs on Saturdays for our students which were fantastic! He stayed with us for a long time and became part of the family here at the School. his language skills are also good and he learned a lot of Moroccan Arabic whilst here. He is easy to live with and a great cook! You are always welcome back to magreb akhoya Elliot. We miss you here !

Avni, Taibe and Molsar were very helpful throughout my stay at the hostel. The hosts were incredibly understanding and even offered some refreshments. Volunteering here was a great experience. The tasks weren't demanding. I learned quickly. I had the opportunity to chat with other travelers who stayed, which was an unforgettable experience. You can also explore the city and get a closer look at the culture during your free time.

A so well mannered and well educated girl!!!! Pilù and I loved her from the first instant we saw her. Pauline spent 10 days in Padova at my house, she's interested in art and history, she likes walking, visiting museums and meeting new people. She immediately easily got new friends! You can talk with her about any topics and she always listens and gives her opinion with respect. She has a strong sense of humour, and it's nice to laugh with her. Pilù is still looking for her, hoping she comes back to play with him.. and feed him. Pauline is a very sensitive young woman, tiny and clean.. She left the house perfect and made a super good bayarische cream as a welcome gift for me when I come home from my short holiday. Pauli studies to be a doctor, and I'm sure she will be the most patient doctor of all Germany (unless I can't convince her to move to Italy to study here)

What an incredible experience Frank and I had, staying with Suzie. Her Workaway experience is extensive, which is shines through and makes it a really pleasurable experience. We stayed one month, working 8am - 1pm, 5 days per week with 2 days off. Suzie has a 'work book', where she writes down: - Daily jobs - Tasks - Projects. You start the day knowing what needs doing and what is a priority. Having direction, but the ability to manage our workload was wonderful. Suzie is always around to ask questions if needed. We were lucky enough to help with her grape harvest, and experience the process of making vino with the local legend Sandro. An experience we will cherish forever. We did lots of gardening maintenance, a bit of cleaning and some inside repairs. On our afternoons/ days off, Suzie is full of local knowledge and very willing to give suggestions. Many afternoons we walked to San Francesco, to get the worlds best gelato or Pontassieve for afternoon treats. Our objective for doing Workaway is to meet new people and live like a local for a month. Suzie also running a B&B, meant we met a few European guests as well as two wonderful American Workawayers. Suzie also had a few of her local friends over for dinners. There are some wonderful local restaurants, where we tried Lampredotto and other local dishes. Our objectives were certainly met, we met many people during our stay and got to experience what it was like to live in a beautiful area of Italy for a month. I highly recommend staying with Suzie.

Wir waren sieben Wochen bei Emma auf der Farm und hätten uns keine schönere erste Workaway-Erfahrung wünschen können. Von Anfang an hat sie uns herzlich aufgenommen und wie ein Teil der Familie behandelt. Wir hatten viel Freiraum und konnten uns die Aufgaben selbst einteilen, sodass genug Zeit blieb, um die Insel zu erkunden. Emma hat außerdem einige Ausflüge mit uns unternommen und uns die Kultur nähergebracht. Zwar war der Weg zum Meer und in die Stadt etwas länger, doch wir durften häufig Emmas Auto nutzen, was vieles erleichtert hat. In den sieben Wochen haben wir viele wertvolle Erfahrungen gesammelt und unzählige schöne Momente erlebt. Wir haben Emma und die Tiere sehr ins Herz geschlossen und können die Familie von ganzem Herzen weiterempfehlen.

Nuestra experiencia con Emir y Fabi en finca fue espectacular, su disposición y alegría para realizar las actividades diarias y aprender de ellas fueron muy oportunas , su compromiso con todos los animales, las labores de huerta, las orellanas , construcción, y demás labores de la finca hizo su estancia muy agradable . Agradecemos nuevamente el haber contactado y vivir esta experiencia agroecológica, aprendimos mucho de cocina , preparaciones con café, panadería (facturas) como llaman a los deliciosos bizcochos.Deseamos mucha suerte en su paso por Colombia, en Finca siempre tendrán las puertas abiertas. ¡Sam, Logan y Pongo ya los extrañan! Amanda spent about three weeks with us on our farm in August. It was really nice having her here! 🤩 She was a great help both around the house and with caring for the animals! Communication is always important, and that worked really well with Amanda! She's a friendly, kind person who's a pleasure to be around. That's why it was great fun to go hiking up the mountain with her. Sorry, Amanda, I might not have been the best companion on the chairlift 🤣 We have a lot of animals here on the farm. Amanda got along well with all of them. We have six Border Collies and are used to having dogs constantly running around or lying around. Our guests, of course, have to get used to that. Amanda took to it very quickly. Our dogs also immediately fell in love with Amanda ❣ We highly recommend Amanda to other hosts and hope she visits ours again 😇 Amanda, there are still many peaks here waiting for us to climb 😁 All the best in the meantime 😘

Estuvimos un mes en el astro camping, un lugar muy especial entre el desierto y el mar con uno de los cielos mas limpios del mundo para ver las estrellas. Durante nuestro tiempo hicimos una banca y empezamos una cocina, todo con tierra y nuestras manos. Tuvimos mucha libertad creativa para los proyectos y para administrar nuestro tiempo y las tareas. También apoyamos en un tour nocturno con un grupo local para aprender de las estrellas, el impacto de la contaminacion lumínica y la importancia de la preservación de estas reservas. Hay varios senderos muy lindos donde puedes ver distintos animales. Por las noches se oyen los aullidos de los zorros y ves el cielo estrellado, una experiencia mágica que extrañamos. En este lugar conocimos el encanto del desierto! 💚 Pato, Naty y toda su familia son increíblemente amables, nos sentimos muy bien recibidos y les deseamos todo lo mejor. Abrazos para todos y todo lo mejor con Kaisito! :)

Estuvimos 2 semanas en Aiquile con Ximena, una ciudad tranquila con cultura y lindos paisajes. Estuvimos apoyando con la jardineria del centro cultural, el cual es un pequeño oasis lleno de arboles frutales, tuvimos una muy linda cabaña para nosotros dos con una pequeña cocina bien equipada, las comidas con Ximena fueron increíbles, cada día probamos un platillo diferente típico de Bolivia. Ximena nos enseño la ciudad, cultura y política del país, tuvimos conversaciones muy interesantes con ella. El trabajo fue muy variable, hicimos diferentes tareas en el jardin incluyendo mantenimiento, la creación de un camino con rocas y jardineria. Nos gusto mucho que el jardin produce tanta fruta y que las usábamos para cocinar. Ximena tiene dos perritos Suri y Moro, muy lindos! Extrañamos jugar a la pelota con la juguetona Suri. My time in Cairo was incredible. I made so many friends at this hostel. It's a beautiful hostel in a great location with metro close by. Additionally, the whole thing is on a rooftop, so everyday I could enjoy the sunshine even while working. The work is easy and fun- 5 hrs a day. I did some reception work, but also put together and activities schedule and took guest to cool nightlife activities. The staff really made this an amazing experience as well. We had countless interesting conversations about culture and differing philosophies. The breakfast is delicious. Dr. Kareem was amazing to me and met any problems with understanding and leniance. We will stay in touch and inshaallah I will return :)

My time with Stephanie, Sebastian, and Emily was amazing! I stayed with them for a week and assisted with general household chores. I raked, cleaned up their garden, and walked their amazing dog Monty! I had an amazing time going to Hamburg and playing tennis with this lovely family, too! I highly recommend anyone staying with them! I am at the beginning of a 9-month backpacking trip, and they made the beginning an amazing experience, helping me find my way and what my 9-month trip means to me. I hope I will stay in contact with them for years to come, and they are really worth getting to know. Thank you guys for everything, and I wish you all the best!

We stayed at Jutta and Marco’s house for 15 days an incredible, cosy place surrounded by nature 🍂. Jutta makes it extra special with her delicious organic meals, mostly from their garden. We helped with nuts and wood for the winter, and loved watching Jutta work creatively with her wool, especially colouring it naturally 🧶. Lovely after dinner chats with Jutta and the coffee Marco prepared made our stay even better. Highly recommend this place 💯. Gracie 🤗

I spent 3 months with Susan and Doug and I loved my experience with them. They are lovely, endearing and funny people. Very attentive and always open to discussion. I miss their dog Matthie and their horses every day! Their house and their estate are magnificent. My time with them was peaceful, thank you again for making me part of your family. I highly recommend you stop by this Workaway, you won't regret it!
