My two weeks in Matumoto have been overall a very positive experience. The family was welcoming, and I appreciated the chance to help out with their lovely energetic puppy, cook some German dishes, and share everyday life together. During my stay, I especially enjoyed spending time with their daughter — we played together quite a lot, and I felt we built a warm connection. Their son was more independent and often busy with his own activities or friends, which I completely respected and understood. Besides joining family life, I also had the chance to meet a befriended family, who kindly invited me to join a Taiko class — a wonderful and memorable cultural experience. I also really enjoyed going to a Matsuri festival together with my hosts, which I’m truly grateful for. I believe that open and direct communication is key during a Workaway stay, especially if something isn’t going as expected — it helps everyone have the best possible experience in the moment. I can warmly recommend this host to other Workawayers who enjoy spending time with children, dogs, and experiencing authentic cultural exchange.

Hi , Beautiful finca/Villa near Mijas , fine staff rooms and food , plenty of maintenance jobs around Villa and getting the place ready to be a healthy retreat centre . Tina is a good organiser and has a super place in the making , with fabulous dogs , All in all a good place to spend some time near Fungerolia . Their are bikes or uber for transport, bus is a 30 min walk or hire car if you want to really explore area in comfort .

I spent a wonderful three weeks at Roi and Ana's place, preparing the garden for fall, removing invasive eucalyptus, and occasionally helping out with the goats. Roi gives volunteers the freedom to set their own schedules and really encourages everyone to enjoy the land as much as possible. I spent a lot of time walking around and swimming in the natural frog pond. There were moments of peaceful solitude reading in the sun, as well as fun, heartfelt connections with other volunteers. I definitely recommend this Workaway!

Sarah stayed with us for 2 weeks and just fitted in seamlessly, calmly managing all the animals and outside jobs with ease. She understood everything needing to be done for the multiple animals and their routines and appreciated the extra care and attention they really enjoy. She is a mature, independent and well-balanced person. I felt very aligned as we shared similar views especially around the animals and easily took responsibility for herself. When there were other volunteers here, she showed them the routines and got on well, which saves me a lot of time. Very tidy house guest, good company and motivated, genuine worker. Dream Volunteer!

I had a wonderful month in Bocas del Toro! The good vibes with the volunteers and local people were great. Victor is so kind, and the personnel are extremely friendly, especially the Chef (Cristian). I learned a lot managing different tasks: from customer service and leading jungle hikes to introducing guests to the structure. The lodge is incredible—a truly wonderful chill place.

Chihiro was charming! Her English was not perfect but she tried to make sure she understood instructions and worked hard to complete tasks. She was good company and we enjoyed having her here. At the beginning I thought this place is not for me because I never worked as receptionist, but after 3 months in the paradise I want to find another volunteering like that (maybe I little bit cooler 🌚). During my stay I met many friends like iguanas, capuchin monkeys and my favourite - squirrel monkeys; and some good people also, of course 🌝. I thank every person who has stayed in my memory, for better or worse 🍌, every experience is important, specially parties with meat ♥️🥩♥️. I just want to apologize from the bottom of my heart for making the pierogi wrong twice, it's big shame for me as a chico polaco. Thank you again and maybe hasta luego 🌞

Kelli was easy to host, she is honest, personable and a hard worker who takes responsibility and gives her best to the work, Kelli gets on well with all, joined in with all activities and we can recomend her to any host.

This was truly an amazing experience. We couldn't have asked for a better first time workaway! Tan and Kik really made us feel at home and part of their family, as well as Macon and his Uno games! 😁 We did help out on the farm with some weeding and replating here and there. Learned a lot about fruit picking, trees, animals and local culture. Tan is very knowledgefull and excited to share! Kik is an amazing cook and made so many great family dinners. 🥘 We stayed in their bamboo cabins which was very nice and a perfect escape from traveling. After just a few days this place really felt like home! It's also very fun to have more travellers on the farm, as you do meet and learn more about them as well. We can't recommend this workaway enough as it was overall an experience to remember and the farmfamily has taken a spot in our hearts! 💚

Daniel is a realy nice guy, friendly, quiet,considerate and helpful, he also is a good worker who does his best with every job he is given, Daniel gets on well with everybody, joined in with all the activities, we can recomend him to any host.

Staying at Len & Toni’s home was truly an amazing experience! Toni’s meals and desserts were absolutely delicious, and I looked forward to them every day. The view from the room’s window was absolutely stunning! My favorite time was sitting with a cup of coffee, watching the wallabies and birds that appeared in the garden. There are various tasks to do, but Len gives clear and easy-to-understand instructions. In the morning, we work for three hours from 9, and after lunch, it finishes in one to two hours. You work for five days and then have clear days off! On your days off, Len gives rides to the hiking trails, making sure you have an enjoyable holiday. They are my first hosts. Kind Len & Toni are truly recommended. I feel like I want to go back there right away.😁At first, I was a bit nervous going there since there were no photos of them. Just as I had imagined, they were a kind and wonderful couple. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a host! Len&Toni Thank you so much for an amazing month.

It was such a joy to have Sara with us for a month! She is such a good, kind and extremely funny person. We all had an amazing time working and chatting and laughing with her. She became a part of our family and we miss her very much! Thank you again Sara for all your work here and for your joyful company. Hope to see you again!

I stayed with Joke and her family for 3 weeks in September 2025 and had a great time at Moliets and a good overall experience. My task were: taking care of Lea and do home chores such as: cooking for the whole family (4ppl + me), doing laundry, cleaning, tidy up, deep cleaning (if you have time), clean the terrace, cats litter, the rabbit house, etc.. During breakfast, I always had nice conversations with Eric and Lea, and then stayed alone doing my chores. I usually worked from 8am - 1pm but the days I had to take care of Lea (3 days per week) I worked from 9am-4pm. Lea is a curious and smart girl , very interested in learning English. At the beginning, I stayed 5 nights in a caravan next to the house, which could be very hot in summer. But luckily after, I moved to an studio which is part of the house but also has its private exit, which is very cool. The communication before my arrival was a bit limited, as Joke and Eric work a lot in summer so they did not have much time. This personally, made me feel a bit insecure and was weird for me, as I had to take care of their kids. However, once I arrived and during all my stay the communication was constant and clear. It is important to let all Workawayers know there are two things that are not accurate in the profile: the family do not offer payment (as it is listed in the profile). And the work days are 6 or 7 days a week (and not 5 as listed) making the overall hours more than 25 per week. I recommend to discuss in advance your time off expectations and have written agreements. Before my arrival I tried to discussed my time off but unfortunately as Joke is busy, she did not answer me. One week before my arrival, we discussed again and she told me "she invited someone to help her family with their schedules and needs" and offered me only one day off per week. She told me I could cancel the Workaway if needed , but for me it was too late, all my plans were organized, and my flights were bought. So I encourage you all to discuss the time off in advance. After all, however, I recommend this experience very much for people like me: nature/sport lovers. The area is amazing, the beach so close, the people from the region are so friendly. For me was easy to make friends, improve my French and share good moments. The family lend you a bike and you can pedal all around, do several flat hikes, see insects and birds around. Also, they lend you a surf board and you can surf daily, which was very cool and allowed me to improve my surf skills. Sunsets are beautiful!! Being at Landes was a nice experience that I will always remember with love. Thanks Joke, Eric, Lea and Fenn for make it possible for me!

Zoe is such a sweetheart, everyone was very sad when she had to leave! She is an amazing company and a great worker (thank you Zoe for being so precise, tidy and clean with everything that you do!!!), very responsible, very receptive and her love for our place was heartwarming. Hope to see you again and wish you all the best with your big project!

Dear Val Valeria was with us for a month with Bea. A warm-hearted, happy person. The trip was decided overnight, so we didn't agree on what she would or could do. But what a great positive surprise. She took us by storm, found her place in the whole group, and it was like she had always been here. We became one big, wonderful family. She became a fellow worker. Thank you so much for your kind nature and cheerful spirit. She decorated, cooked, kept house, did the gardening, looked after the chickens and a lot more. The chickens miss you and We do too. Highly recommended. And yes, we miss our daughters.

I stayed a little over 2 weeks at Emma's place and it was great! The place is authentic and beautiful with a small lake and a small river to swim a little! It's a real Australian experience in nature :) Emma is an incredible person, kind who makes you feel comfortable. I was also able to meet other people there and we wandered around a little and the landscapes were magnificent. I honestly recommend it 1000%, and I hope to have the opportunity to return .😁😁😁

Julian was a pleasure to host, open-minded, interesting and ready to do anything. He worked in the garden, helped in the house and cooked us a delicious dinner. He has self-initiative, is diligent and reliable. We had plenty of great chats as he is very reflected and curious. He has a big adventure ahead of him and is travelling with his camera equipment so could always help with media projects. We wish him the best of luck on his travels and hope to see him again.

Marica stayed with us for more than a month and we are so grateful for that! She is such a lovely, funny and reliable person... She fitted perfectly with our team and with the energy of the place. Always on time, smart, independent, really easy to work with but also eager to have fun together. It was a real pleasure to have her around! We really hope to see you again next year Marica! I stayed at Geoff's for 2 weeks helping in the garden and the house. He showed me around and was very kind to me and my English, which wasn't yet confirmed :). We cooked and chatted, especially about France, which he really liked! Great place to recharge my batteries, thanks to him I was able to embark on a great road trip!
