Greg was a great help and great company. I hosted Greg in October 2025 and he completed a number of DIY jobs. He is careful, thorough, meticulous and very tidy. I enjoyed Greg's company and chats - he is an interesting person. I have no hesitation recommending Greg to other hosts. He is always welcome back here.

My son Akram and I had an amazing two-week stay with Thierry and Florence in Briançon, France. From the very first day, they welcomed us like family, and we immediately felt at home. Briançon is such a beautiful place — surrounded by the Alps with snow-capped mountains everywhere, and the fresh mountain air made every day special. The weather was cool, between 5 and 15 degrees, which we really enjoyed. Thierry kindly showed us around the area, including the impressive Fort des Trois Têtes, and we also went trekking together to explore some scenic spots. Their home is lovely and full of warmth. One of our favorite moments was picking fresh apples from the big apple tree in their garden and enjoying them every day. Florence, being vegan, introduced us to many delicious vegetarian dishes — it was a new and wonderful experience for us. Akram also had the chance to practice speaking French with them, which was great for him. They even took us to a yoga center where we enjoyed a two-hour session — Akram’s first time doing yoga! In the evenings, we often played Mexican Train and cards, shared food, stories, and learned about each other’s cultures. Thierry and Florence are kind, generous, and thoughtful hosts who truly care about their guests. We are so grateful for this unforgettable experience and for the opportunity Workaway gave us to meet such wonderful people. Thank you, Thierry and Florence, for everything — we hope to see you again someday! With warm regards, Shiblee & Akram

We had a great experience staying with Jónina and Jon Levi, we stayed for 4 months, and since the first moment we felt a part of the family, the atmosphere was super welcoming, the communication was always clear, and the work was chill and well organized. We learn a lot from both of them (specially from Jon Levi, what a great boy). We recommend this experience to other workawayers! She also helped us to find a job, and by the end of our stay we couldn't share as much as we would wanted to, but we wanted to let you know "que estamos muy agradecidos contigo por todo lo que nos ayudaste y por los lindos momentos que compartimos. Muchas gracias!!!"

We stayed at Elza’s for two weeks and honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer! It was a great heartwarming experience, Elza is a lovely and friendly person, we had lots of great conversations on any chosen subject, we felt really comfortable there. Regarding the work it was also quite likable, we had a great and fun time while gaining experience on how renovating a house truly looks like. Responsibilities weren’t overwhelming at all, we could take a break at any chosen time and also had a lot of time off to go travel around :) Overall I wholeheartedly recommend joining Elza’s renovation journey!

From the first second when Deirdre, Annie and Margaret picked me up at the bus station until my last few minutes before I left I was a part of the family. I have learned so many things during the time I stayed with them, not only regarding sheep, and so much of it will be helpful in my job later. There were tons of funny moments, for example chasing a small sheep that just wouldn't stop running away, but also stunning experiences when we went to places higher in the mountains. It is like actually walking through a postcard! I enjoyed the peace and silence so much, you really calm down there, you almost have no other choice. No camera in the world could capture that. On the other hand, when coming back to the house, there was always something going on and always something to do, especially if the kids are at home. Either you have to check the sheep, walk the dogs, work with the ponies or do the homework with Annie and Margaret. You will never get bored! I would definitely come back to Ireland, to the amazing nature and the lovely people, of which Deirdre, Jerry, Matthew, Annie and Margaret are for sure a part of. Thank you so much for making my stay in Ireland such an exciting journey!

Bas (and his friend Felix), were part of our first batch of Workawayers! In the limited time they spent with us, they got to immerse themselves with our staff and the local community pretty well. They were also very hard-working (they even built us a bamboo bench! haha) Overall, we all had a pleasant time hosting them. Bas and Felix are both well-mannered but also fun and easy to be with!

Our experience with Anna and Palmi was top. We stayed with them two times for just a few days each, and they were always such a welcoming family, open minded and cheerful. We highly recommend them as hosts :) Thanks you Anna and Palmi, once again for everything! We remember you guys with joy.

Sarah and Luca stayed for 1 week with us . We felt really lucky to meet them. They are super friendly, polite and good hearted couple. They prepared delicious Pasta for everyone and we got a chance to learn Italian Pasta recipes back to back for 2 days. It was really appreciable as they cooked it with lots of love. We played games together and spend quality time with them. We would definitely recommend them to all. And we hope to meet you again. And we wish you will have amazing time in your future travels.

A little piece of paradise... Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Jasper, but we received an incredibly warm welcome from Rose. She welcomed us to this little piece of paradise after midnight. As soon as we arrived, Randal, Farfa, Sachi, and Sardine (the adorable dogs and cats) also gave us a warm welcome! During our stay, we had the opportunity to clean the garden in a setting that was nothing short of magnificent. The icing on the cake was that Rose fully integrated us into her daily routine and introduced us to delicious falafel, superb beaches for swimming and snorkeling, as well as exciting games of Bohnanza. It was Ambre's first workaway, and probably her last for fear of not finding anything as good! We will be back with great pleasure in the spring. Thank you again for everything, Rose!

My time here was truly heart-opening. The hosts live with genuine care for the earth and people, and every day felt meaningful — from working in the garden to sharing meals and stories by the fire. I learned, laughed, and felt deeply connected to nature and community. A beautiful place that stays in your heart long after you leave.

The three weeks I spent volunteering at the eco village with Rajesh and his team were exceptional. The work was often physically demanding — pouring concrete to create a new patio area, carting bricks for builders, and general lifting, etc— but whenever we felt unable to take on a task, the team was understanding and always found us alternative work. It was very rewarding to join the team and contribute to a project that values nature and sustainability whilst providing stable and quality jobs for locals. We had three tasty meals a day, cooked by the wonderful ladies (fish/soya/veg curry + rice/chapati). This workaway offered a genuine cultural exchange: we were invited to a funeral wake with Rajesh and attended a local festival alongside several of the eco village employees (real highlights of my travels). The island, its community, food, and culture were all incredible, and everyone we met was warm and welcoming. I can't think of a better place or team to spend your time volunteering with. Thank you, Rajesh and team!

We spent three weeks with Ana and enjoyed every minute of it. She is a very friendly, kind and considerate host and always made sure we were happy. The work we were asked to carry out was straightforward, occasionally physical, but always within our capabilities. The animals are fun to be around which made our job all the more satisfying. We also spent time gathering almonds which was a most gratifying task. During bad weather we would remain in the house and do some cleaning. In return for our efforts we were provided with comfortable accommodation and were very well fed. Ana provided all the food we needed and often cooked us delicious meals. On our days off she would ensure we could easily get to Valencia, either by dropping us off at metro station in Bétera or by taking us all the way into the city. In summary, we would have no hesitation in recommending Ana as a wonderful Workaway host.

Ahmed was an excellent communicator and his Japanese language ability was at a good level for daily conversation with us. When we first met, he thoughtfully brought gifts for us following Japanese custom, which showed his respectful and considerate nature. He demonstrated wonderful manners throughout his stay - always arriving on time for scheduled activities and adapting quickly to our family routine. One of our favorite memories was when he taught us how to make traditional Sudanese chai, which was absolutely delicious! Ahmed was also a reliable and skilled driver, which was very helpful during his time with us. He spent quality time playing with our son Harun, and Harun was so happy during his stay. It was heartwarming to see their connection and how naturally Ahmed became part of our family. As fellow Muslims, we truly appreciated praying together. Waking up for Fajr prayer in jama'ah and sharing our spiritual practice created a special bond during his time with us. Although his stay was relatively short at 6-7 days, we would have loved to host him longer. Unfortunately, he needed to return to his current activities in his hometown. We wholeheartedly recommend Ahmed to other Workaway hosts. He was respectful, hardworking, and brought positive energy to our family and farm. Any host would be fortunate to welcome him. Jazakumullah khairan Ahmed. Our door is always open if you want to return here again.

Ori joined us at short notice, and from the moment he arrived, his constant smile and uplifting energy lit up the farm. 🌞🌿 Whether plastering, sanding, painting rooms, or helping in the garden, he gave his all, fully embracing the work and helping us achieve key goals for the project. Ori is the first volunteer we’ve hosted from Israel 🇮🇱, and we were thrilled to welcome him and expand our international community. It was wonderful to share stories, learn about his culture, and celebrate the diversity that makes our project so special. 🌏✨ Though his stay was short, his positivity left a lasting mark, and we only wish he could have stayed longer. We’re excited for him as he continues his Workaway journey in Vietnam and beyond, and we know he’ll bring the same joy, energy, and dedication wherever he goes. 🌿💛 Thank you so much for everything, Best wishes, Lena and Bishwo

I had a great time with Judit! The first days started strong with some garden work and meeting her friend for a walk but unfortunately we both got sick, shifting the tasks to inside chores such as organizing and cleaning ( making fire, cooking, cuddling cats, puzzling✨). Judit is easy to talk to and told me a lot about hungarys change from communism to capitalism when she was a kid. Worst timing to get sick, we had to skip all the hikes we planned and the garden and maintenance work I came for.. Still it was a very wholesome time together and I would visit any time as this place is gorgeous and Judit an amazing person and host. Thank you so much and hope to see you and the cats again ❤️

Andrew and Erica spent a week on our farm in October, and it was an absolute pleasure to host them. Both were enthusiastic, cheerful, and always ready to help. They really enjoyed cutting apples and worked with great energy on freeing our old kitchen walls from decades of paint layers. Andrew got deeply into the construction of our new retaining wall — after he and Erica, together with Kay, had removed the loose soil, we were finally able to set the slope stones and fill them with gravel. Their teamwork was fantastic! They both love cooking and eating, joined us for sauna evenings and movie nights, and spent their free time happily hiking in the area. It was wonderful to see how well they understand each other and how much fun they have together — even playfighting and laughing like best friends. I wish them lots of joy in their future travels and a long, happy marriage. You are always welcome back!

We really enjoyed our stay with David. His property is nestled away in the rainforest and was a very pleasant and peaceful place to be. David was a very generous host and provided lots of delicious ingredients to make meals with, showed us a couple of secret swimming holes and took us to the local market in Mossman. Workwise, things could be a little disorganised at times and we would have preferred some clearer direction on tasks, but we tried to take initiative to get things done and help where needed. Overall we did weeding, cooking/cleaning, painting and helped another workawayer to build a path. David made us feel welcome right away and we would definitely recommend him as a host. Thanks again David!

Edward is a very proper and gracious young British gentleman who brought culture, great conversation, and motivation to everything he did. I was truly impressed by his maturity, intelligence, and the thoughtful way he carried himself. He arrived with two friends, and together they made a wonderful team. The three of them worked seamlessly as a unit — helping in all areas, taking initiative, and accomplishing a great deal during their stay. Their teamwork, positivity, and enthusiasm created such a fun and productive atmosphere here. Edward stood out for his respectful manner, engaging personality and confidence. He has a very bright future ahead of him, and I feel grateful to have had him here. I highly recommend him and would gladly welcome him back anytime. I really appreciate that they all worked well together and all wanted to do extra activities so we all got to have fun together. Thank you for all your hard work and extra effort. It really helped me.

Sam Sam is an incredibly likable person — easy to get along with, fun to be around, and a real pleasure to host. He’s a great team player who puts in genuine effort and takes his responsibilities seriously. What stood out most about Sam is how much he grew and improved during his stay. I would honestly give him the award for Most Improved Workawayer I’ve ever had. His willingness to learn and adapt made hosting him an absolute joy. He just got better and better, his efforts did not go unnoticed. Sam’s positive attitude, curiosity, and sense of humor brought wonderful energy to the home. I truly appreciated his presence and the way he contributed. I feel very blessed to have had him here, and I’d be happy to welcome him back anytime. Thank you, Sam — well done and keep up your great spirit! I really enjoyed having you and you bring a wonderful balance to the team. Come back in one year or ten I can't wait !

Peter Graham has an absolutely wonderful demeanor. He is kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and deeply respectful. From the moment he arrived, it was clear that he carries himself with great integrity and maturity beyond his years. Peter’s background — being half British and half Chinese — beautifully complements his balanced and gracious nature. He embodies the best of both worlds: thoughtful, courteous, and disciplined, while also warm, open, and engaging. This blend adds a wonderful depth to his personality and the way he interacts with others. He is a natural leader, serving as a prefect in his college and often taking on leadership roles in other areas of his life. During his time here, he demonstrated an exceptional sense of responsibility and initiative. He thinks carefully before acting, works diligently, and contributes with both skill and heart. He is also an amazing cook, and his creativity and care in the kitchen were a true delight. Beyond his abilities, what stands out most is his character — genuine, steady, and humble. I feel incredibly blessed to have met Peter and to have had him stay in my home. I hold him in the highest esteem and have great hope for his bright future. He is a truly wonderful person, and I would welcome him back anytime. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
