Lany and David are fantastic!! They run this wonderful place in the middle of nowhere ahaha where you can truly be yourself! You will learn a lot about living in a community, helping each other and being passionate about an ideal. The locals are really generous and happy. The nature is amazing and coconuts are everywhere, if you are brave enough to climb the trees. 😁 I spent 5 weeks there. Thank you so much for this formative experience. Salamat and Mabuhay Philippines!!!

I spent two amazing months with Ron and Mona and their sons, Kye and Jack. They always made me feel comfortable, valued, and appreciated. I did many different kinds of work, both outdoors and inside the house. It’s a magical place: the nature, the colors, the plants, the greenery, and the view with the lake and the horses, but what truly makes it special are the people in this family. They have such big hearts, and it was a real privilege for me to work with them and share our time together. Thank you, Mona and Ron.

Luca is a great young volunteer from Italy — kind, curious, and full of good energy. He came all the way from Italy just to spend time at the farm, which already says a lot about his adventurous spirit. We even convinced him to visit Rio for a few days, and as a big soccer fan, he’s going to watch a game at the legendary Maracanã stadium! Always in a good mood, with a big smile on his face, Luca helped with everything we asked him to and did it with genuine pleasure. He’s a fast learner, eager to contribute, and has a great attitude toward work and community life. Luca also loves running and quickly became friends with everyone here, fitting in naturally with the group. He’s kind, respectful, and brings a light and positive energy to any environment. Highly recommended — any host will be lucky to have him around!

Camille and Camilla, a lovely duo from Denmark, were a real pleasure to have with us. They’re young, kind, and always brought a cheerful energy to the farm. Camille is a bit more talkative, while Camilla is quieter, and together they make a really sweet and balanced team. They preferred to work side by side and helped us with many different tasks, including hospitality, always with a positive attitude and a smile. They really shined when given clear tasks and carried them out with care, responsibility, and great energy. They also have great people skills, which shows in their work back home caring for elderly people. Their kindness and calm energy made them easy and lovely to have around, and they fit beautifully into the volunteer community. Outside of their volunteer hours, they were curious and eager to get to know the region and the local culture. They even rented a car to explore the area and showed genuine interest in learning more. They even wanted to visit a local school, but unfortunately, the timing didn’t work out. Hosting Camille and Camilla was a really nice experience, and I’m sure they’ll bring a warm, friendly spirit to any project they join!

He helped a lot. Much more than what was asked for. He knows what he is doing around a kitchen and garden and cooked for 15 people in a party we had. And he is a very interesting person with some funny stories.

For my 3rd Workaway in October 2025, I am happy to have spent my first hours and my first ten days in Australia with Emmanuelle, John and Ana. I learned so much with them! Their love for animals made me want to raise a few hens again, and their delicious meal and morning tea gave me confidence again when it came to cooking. There is so much to discover with this amazing family: a sustainable house, permaculture for all, the harvest of honey, the birth of kids, milking and making cheeses, the vegetable garden... Go see their haven of peace! Thank you so much Emmanuelle, John and Ana, I wish you the best.

Sofia and Michael ! My “jamaican” family :-p Being so long away from home can make you miss family and friends. And I found this warm and safe space at their home. They were very respectful of my space. They were very helpful and available. They treat me with love, understanding, patience, kindness, generosity. They fed me well hahaha !! Spending time with their pets was a blessing for the soul ! I loved them with all my heart ! And they loved me back in their own way… all so different and with different needs… a big hairy family ! I will be forever grateful with Sofia and Michael. They shared so much with me. I cooked, cleaned, gardened, I went for loooong walks and jogging with Freddy and when I was lucky, with Mommy and Tani too ! To please me, Michael also agreed on giving me some renovation tasks !! Thank you for that ! You have a very special place in my heart and memories. Thank you for crossing my path. Thank you for letting me be myself in your beautiful home and thank you for sharing this incredible journey of life with me. Hope to see you again !! I wish you love, joy, health and all the great things Jamaica and life can give you !!

I don't even know where to begin to express my gratitude to Ika, her wonderful family, the neighbors and all the students. I was so lucky that Ika found me on Workaway and invited me to her home. My three weeks with them were perfect. Ika is an incredibly thoughtful and caring host. She took such good care of me, always making sure I was comfortable and happy. In our spare time, Ika would take me to many beautiful local sights. She also contacted her friend to take me hiking. I cherished every moment with her. Listening to her share about her religion, her life, and her beautiful thoughts was truly inspiring. Her family is just as amazing. Grandma and Grandpa are kind and welcoming. Ika's daughters are absolute angels—they are all sweet, beautiful, kind, and understanding. Ika's neighbors are also wonderfully warm. They were always bringing over great homemade food for me. The volunteer work was a pleasure. For me, it didn't feel like work, it was a blessing. The students at the school and in the English camp were SO, SO, SO enthusiastic! They always greeted me with the loudest cheers and the biggest smiles. The girls in private class were smart and lovely, leaving me a lot of beautiful memories. It truly feels like I have a second home in Indonesia now. I fell in love with everything there—the people, the sunshine, the mountains, the peaceful fish ponds, and all the delicious food. Indonesia has already taken a very special place in my heart. Workawayers, if you are looking for a genuine, warm, and loving experience, I 1000% recommend you staying with Ika. Just go! You won't find a warmer, more welcoming place. Thank you, Ika, for everything. You, your family, and your neighbors are the best. I'm already missing everyone❤️

Maria is a very caring and empathetic person, with a deep understanding of animals – especially those that have experienced trauma and require special care. She is highly reliable and has a remarkable ability to sense and respond to the needs of animals.

We really enjoyed staying and working with Lisa, Bernhard and their young family. Kind, friendly people who made us feel very welcome in their home. The list of things to do that month meant we were clear on our daily tasks and could decide on other tasks. This worked really well, to help us support this busy family. Lisa also made us some lovely food, going above and beyond what we expected. The downstairs apartment worked well for 3 workaways, plus the guest room and we really enjoyed sharing this space and meeting other travellers. Would recommend to other workawayers!

Emma was staying with us for two weeks. She is very polite and calm and helps with the tasks we had during that time. She helped with picking grapes, weeding, cooking and window cleaning in the house. We highly recommend her to other places and hosts. It was a nice time having her with us.

It was a fantastic time; I enjoyed working there, but also poured blood, sweat, and tears (from laughing). Doinny, Karin, and Santi are sweet, honest, and hardworking, and they've turned the campsite into a paradise where you can also enjoy delicious food. Perhaps see you next year! groetjes Jeroen

Tina stayed with us for 10 days in September 2025. She is an easy going and independent young lady; We enjoyed her company and my son also liked spending time with her. She is calm, friendly, tidy, responsible and easy to communicate with. She will be a great compassionate doctor :-) I should also mention that she helped me in the garden. We wish her all the best and can truly recommend her to other hosts.

Stayed for just 1 week in early October. I visited during non-cacao season, our tasks were usually weeding and cleaning rooms . Also i worked on their website (hope i did something useful). Though i didn't talk much with Mayoor, i really learnt a few useful things from listening to his conversations. And Mukunth on the other hand, he did an amazing job from assigning tasks to volunteers TO teaching us how to play kings corner(card game). Honestly, my time here was amazing. Would love to visit again during cacao season.

My time with Anna, Aiden and their whole family was truly special. I had the honor of spending five weeks with them, and from the very beginning, I felt welcomed and at ease. They are a warm-hearted with whom conversations come naturally and effortlessly. They are also a dedicated and down-to-earth family who put a lot of love into what they do. One of the things I appreciated is how considerate and adaptable they are — always open to wishes or feedback, and they would let me know in advance what to expect for the next day. I’m deeply thankful to Anna and her whole family for their patience, the meaningful conversations, their support, and most of all, for giving me the feeling of being at home. Spending time with the kids and caring for them was such a joy and I’m grateful for every moment. It was so special to see how much they both learned and grew in such a short time. I also truly loved spending time with the animals. And it was a lovely bonus to meet other kind and open-minded Workawayers during my stay. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your big hearts, for encouraging me to try new things, for making me feel part of your world, and for all the lovely shared moments. It also meant a lot to me that you appreciated even the smallest bits of help I could offer — it made the experience feel truly mutual. Time flew by way too quickly, but I’m already looking forward to the next time we meet. Mareile/ Bareila/ Little Marry

Jess was cheerful, cheeky and a lot of fun. But more than that, Jess was smart and diligent and extremely valuable. She was passionate and committed to making improvements to my shelter, and she accomplished this. Jess was amazing at helping develop and formalise procedures for the necessary tasks at my shelter, at welcoming and training new volunteers, at fostering a happy team environment, at being a friend, at everything. Jess provided endless love and care to my animals, and she supported and encouraged me when times got tough. Her only fault was that she eventually left, but even then, she arranged to return on weekends to become a daytime volunteer while she lived and worked in Melbourne. Oh yes, there was one other fault, that related to cabbage, but I won’t go into detail. It was a joy to have Jess in my home and in my life. She was one of my best volunteers and is now a dear friend. Jess made my shelter a better place.

We had a great time hosting Emmanuelle and Greg! They were very good guests in the house, and very interested in the Norwegian culture and history. Many good questions and interesting conversations. They are both kind and pleasant guests. We had fun playing board games and talking about Norwegian and French culture. They were a great help with the work on the house, and did a great job painting! They need some guidance and supervision, and seem eager to learn and to do a good job.
