Con Maria Sofia ci siamo trovati benissimo. Si è comportata come se fosse una figlia, una persona da sempre nella nostra famiglia , collaborando con noi in tutto. Si è dimostrata molto brava con i nostri cani e molto affettuosa. Siamo stati molto contenti di lei. È stata una bellissima esperienza. Noi speriamo di porerla avere con noi presto!!!!

Working with Jean-Luc was easy and fun : he explained me everything he was doing and showed me things to do. I knew nothing about renovations or planting trees but I felt confidente because of his help. I loved the morning routine consisting in going to the village to have a coffee/tea with viennoiseries and meeting people and blanding in. During the week-ends we visited villages around, met some of his friends or participated in local events. We even went to help a friend of him picking-up chestnut in her forest : awesome! Thanks a lot Jean-Luc : I really appreciated my stay at your place!

Gunnar est un personnage haut en couleur qui aime parler de son métier et de son vécu. C'est passionnant à écouter même lorsqu'on est fatigué et qu'il parle un peu vite. L'orgue est un monde que je ne connaissais pas et que je vais essayer d'approfondir dans les mois et années qui viennent. Gunnar m'a fait réaliser que derrière un orgue, il y a une quantité de pièces à fabriquer et à assembler que je n'imaginais pas. Bien sûr, comme mes prédécesseurs, j'ai apprécié sa cuisine qu'il réalise sans ouvrir le moindre livre et sans suivre aucune recette. Son amie découvre l'ornithologie depuis quelques années. Nous avons passé une après-midi sur le bord du Lac de Constance, côté Autriche. Je pratique l'observation des oiseaux depuis quarante ans. Je me suis donc fait un plaisir de lui faire profiter de mes connaissances sur le sujet. Là où je suis nettement moins fort, c'est l'allemand mais cela va finir par s'arranger. Allez faire un tour chez Gunnar !

Wonderful couple that you need in your team. Gabriela and Kurt spent over 2 weeks with Bush and I, teaching English to some locals, Marias family and Sofia are really happy and thankful for the lessons, telling me they should have stayed longer. Such a genuine and friendly couple that you would love to have, ready and eager to learn about anything and to teach you and cook delicious meals. You would laugh a loot. Do not skip the part of letting Grabriela cook for you. Deliciosisimo.. I had such an amazing time with them, learning from each other while having very interesting conversations. The weather was not in our side, so we were not able to see many spots but having them after a very strong recovery process was amazing. Last but not least Kurt is a fabulous carpenter, building a door gate for Bush the manager not to cross the entrance and such an amazing table that everyone is admiring at the moment. Thank you so much for this and everything else mates, I will always be grateful for. Have a wonderful trip and please bear in mind that mi casa es su casa if your ever want to come back. Ajuuaa!

Me quedé 10 dias con Cielo y su grande familia. Mi hermana se unió a mi algunos días después. Mi tiempo con ellos ha sido increíble. Es una familia muy positiva, muy respectuosa, graciosa, que quiere compartir mucho y que hace todo para que los extranjeros se sienten integrados, nos sentimos totalmente parte de la familia. No estaba previsto que viniera mi hermana y no hubo ningun problema, la recibieron los brazos abiertos. Aprendimos mucho sobre el chocolate, hicimos chocolate de la semilla a la barra y nos gustamos mucho ver el proceso. Soy chocolatera de profesión pero todavía aprendí mucho de ellos. También, Cielo nos pidió si queremos ver el artesania de la región, sin obligación. Estábamos de acuerdo y fuimos a ver artesania de mochilas, de joyas hechas con semillas de la selva, de helados artesanales y de vino y nuez de la región. Gracias para todo a ti Cielo y tu familia, un parte de mi corazón siempre permanecerá con ustedes 🍫❤️

Kirsten and Edvin, a wonderful couple filled with love, opened their home and hearts to me at the very last minute. At the beginning of this journey, I felt lost, searching for direction and peace. But with them, surrounded by their kindness and the simple beauty of life, I slowly began to find myself again. They are humble, genuine souls. I discovered a different kind of happiness, quiet, honest, and real. I miss the green of nature, the peaceful mornings, the sound of the chickens, and all the wonderful people I met along this path. I will carry this experience in my heart, and I truly hope our paths cross again someday. Thank you, Kirsten and Edvin. We miss you very much.

Carole est une personne dynamique et joyeuse, très agréable à vivre. Elle s'est complètement intégrée au fonctionnement de la ferme et est débrouillarde dans les travaux. Carole prend des initiatives, elle est activé dans la vie collective. J'ai vraiment passé un très bon séjour avec Carole.

Ana is a really lovely lady! She stayed with us for three weeks and was very helpful, and happy to do anything we asked of her - painting walls, cutting and glueing the ceiling insulation, mosaics, cooking us arepas 😋- and so much washing up! Independent, polite, educated, and friendly. We really hope everything works out for her at the university, and hope to meet up in Seville next spring!

In October 2025 I stayed for two weeks at this awesome place of Tina and Jeff on Cortes Island and really enjoyed it. The communication with Tina before and during my stay was very good. She answered fast on WhatsApp. I appreciate that Tina contacted me some days before to offer to me that I could come earlier and be sheltered from heavy rain, knowing that I was tenting. Jeff took me with his boat to see the coastline of Cortes Island, which I enjoyed a lot. The majority of the days I stayed alone at that remote property deep in the forest, bought my own food, and prepared the meals. On the days Tina and Jeff were there, they invited me for lunch and dinner. My accomodation was a trailer and the heater kept me warm. I did some woodwork and used their electric tools. In my free time I explored the island with my car. On the island are a lot of hiking trails. The trailheads are marked in Google Maps. In the south is a lovely natural food store with a bakery and a café. It was my first workaway and I was very glad, that I could see the impressive architecture of the geodesic dome in reality. I am very proud, that I could be part of this interesting project with my little help. Thank you so much for this great experience!

Dejana is a fantastic host, would definitely recommend her "Grey Gardens" to other volunteers! There is a lot that could be done to get the food forest going but there is already lots of pomegranate trees, kiwi vine, citrus and figs, so its very enjoyable to work on the property. You can go for walks around the hilly countryside, catch a ride with Yasin to Herzig Novi or catch a local bus that runs a few times a day. We always had enough food, cevapi were fantastic and we could make other healthy food as we wished. The garden had some eggplants, lots of cucumbers and tomatoes. 2 little menaces: Uma & Potato will keep you occupied and always there to cuddle with you if you are up for it. Would definitely come back here again! Thanks Dejana and hope to see you soon :)

I had an absolutely incredible four weeks staying with Tessa. Her home is beautifully adorned with her own artistic creations, and it was truly inspiring. The program mainly involved taking care of animals, and the horses were exceptionally well-trained and healthy. Beyond the daily chores, Tessa also made sure we experienced the local culture. We visited Madina, explored the area, and even picked olives to press our own oil, which was an unforgettable experience. Tessa’s kindness and the family-like atmosphere made my stay even more special. I would love to return someday and highly recommend Tessa to future volunteers.

Rhi and Jack were such a joy to host! From the moment they arrived, they brought this super chilled, friendly, and positive energy that really lifted the vibe in the house. I loved our chats about music, conservation, brewing, philosophy, teaching…and loads of other things. They’re both really thoughtful, easy to talk to, and they blended in so naturally with the rest of the volunteers. They worked really hard, even though the work was sometimes pretty physically demanding, and they always did it with such a great attitude. We also had a lot of laughs playing board games together in the evenings…really awesome fun!! If you ever get the chance to host these two, don’t think twice...they’re absolute legends. And if I ever find myself in New Zealand, I’ll definitely be looking them up! Thanks so much guys :)

This was our first workaway experience and we could not have had it better!! Gio is a great host, the accommodation was perfect for us two. He drove us to the grocery store in the next town multiple times and we even went to the olive oil factory!!! I would definitely go visit that if you harvest the millions of olives on his property. His wife Bettina is a joy to be around, and both made us feel totally comfortable in our new home. The tasks were all very rewarding and Gio is great at letting us do them on our own time. It is literally paradise, I miss it already! Such a cool experience and the beach is stunning, I would consider him a friend at this point. Thank you Gio!

Avery was staying with me for 5 days and she helped me around my summer cottage. She washed windows, made food and painted some walls with me. Everything was done carefully and she asked help if needed. Avery is very kind, warm, wise, polite and calm person and we also had nice talks 😊 she is welcome back anytime ❤️

I had a wonderful week with Angelica, and she was a lovely surprise. She is helpful and adaptable, and she helped me with various tasks, some of which she had never done before, but she always gives her best. Apart from that, we also chatted a lot and had interesting conversations. She is a sweet, intelligent and curious person. Grazie Angie!

I did my first workaway experience with Nico and Anele and I would recommand it to everyone ! They were always so nice, asking if I needed anything, and ready to give some recommendations and tips for my time off around the island. I also really liked the accomodation, the place is quiet and very close to the beach :) and El Medano has my heart <3 The informations about the tasks were clear and always well explained, and nico and anele are so nice that I never hesitated to ask any questions to them. I stayed with them for 1 month and it was an amazing stay, I wish you the best for the future guys :) Thank you again for everything !

We had an amazing time with Brian, Nicole and Liam and enjoyed every minute of it. What we really appreciated was the flexibility and the variety of tasks. We cut and stacked firewood, shoveled and moved manure, took care of the chickens, and helped with household chores like tidying up the kitchen after meals ;-) And perhaps the most fun job of our trip in Canada: finishing the exterior (sides) of the cabin in the woods. It was great to learn more about all the delicious things you can make with fresh milk. Being surrounded by so many animals — dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, horses, cows — was a wonderful experience for us, and the kittens were an adorable bonus. In terms of cultural exchange, we couldn't have been luckier: a Ceilidh, a hog roast, and Thanksgiving. And it was fantastic that we were able to borrow a car to explore the area — and beyond. What we enjoyed most were the lovely meals together, conversations about all kinds of topics, teaching each other new games, and the posture of the day. For us, this is what Workaway is about: genuine attention and personal connection. And that is exactly what we experienced with Brian, Nicole and Liam. Brian, Nicole and Liam are incredibly welcoming, friendly, humorous, broad-minded and out-of-the-box thinkers. It’s probably clear by now that we had a truly wonderful time.❤️

I am so grateful to have met Marie and Antonio! They and their family were a breath of fresh air during my first visit to Europe and France! I learnt a lot about creating the lifestyle you want, and Marie and Antonio have a big heart for sharing their happy place with people from all over the world. Breathing in the aromatic garden every day was incredible! Thank you also for encouraging personal and group growth. Thank you very much! 💚🌎💗

This first Workaway experience brought me all I could have expected : an amazing place with amazing people where I created unforgettable memories. If you meet up the work expectations (which are not hard and mostly about socialising with the guests), you will also have plenty of free time to explore the region with the new friends you made. It’s really important to the owners that you’re having a great time and that you feel comfortable and they will make sure that you feel that way during your stay. Do not hesitate to join this experience, you will not regret it :) V and Khanoon, over the days you became my friends and I feel really grateful to now be part of the family. Leaving this place was hard. I just want to say thank you to both of you for everything. Until we meet again <3
