Annett stayed with us for three weeks and was happy to roll her sleeves up and take on any tasks asked of her. She had the awful job of dethatching the lawn which she took on with humour and grace. Lawn looks awesome now! She was an easy guest to have and enjoyed strolling to the beach most days and was happy to chill with me watching tv in the evenings. She was bestowed the highest honour by my husband who loaned her his beloved Ute. We happily left her alone to house sit for the weekend while we went camping. She also did some work inside the house including reorganising my cupboards and cleaning our ( very grubby) windows. Wishing her the very best on her Australian adventure.

Emiiiiiiiii ! It's such a pleasure to have you as a family member forever ! What a chance we had to meet you up and work with you ! Emi is full of positive energy, really curious, always motivated to travel somewhere alone or with a gang ! She can socialise and connect people together easily, she was really a great fit for us ! She's serious about the work, fast learner and autonomous with the tasks ! It's always cool when we can trust 100% some volunteers about our expectations on how to run the hostel, and Emi was one of them ! To other hosts : Go for Emi, you won't regret your choice !

Kyle was an outstanding volunteer at . He was essential to all operations, learning quickly and handling tasks efficiently. His positive attitude and teamwork made him a pleasure to have around. Kyle also embraced the surfing experience with enthusiasm and quickly became confident, even helping beginners. I highly recommend him to any host looking for a motivated and capable volunteer.

I stayed with Joeleen and her family for 3.5 weeks, working three days a week, and I truly enjoyed my time there. The accommodation was fantastic! I had the pleasure of staying in a cozy cabin with a beautiful view of the creek, which made the experience even more special. My tasks included a variety of things like cleaning, organizing, painting a future horse shed, cooking dinners for the family, caring for the chickens, weed whacking, land clearing, and watering the plants. The work was varied and fulfilling. Joeleen was responsive and accommodating, and she kindly provided the food I requested. I also really appreciated the chance to get to know her and her family. They were welcoming and kind throughout my stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d be very happy to return sometime in the future.

Unforgettable and Amazing Experience We were so lucky to spend three perfect weeks at this beautiful place. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly, and we immediately knew we were in the right place. We were captivated by the beautiful surroundings, the garden, and the accommodation. Heidi is an incredibly kind and genuine person who showed us trust from the very beginning. We had everything we needed — delicious meals, a cozy private room, our own bathroom, a kitchen, and even a lovely sunroom. Our main tasks were helping in the garden and around the house. Heidi always reminded us to enjoy our time there above all, and it was so comfortable that we didn’t even feel the need to go anywhere else — we felt right at home. We also had the chance to meet two wonderful families, since we stayed in a duplex with two households. We would return to this place without any hesitation. ❤️

Jacob and I had an amazing time with Rob, Mel, Izzy and Hen! We helped Rob with renovating some of his houses. We learned and improved some skills like painting and Jacob even used a chainsaw. Rob and Mel told us many new facts about Australia, and even showed us beautiful spots in the area! We had dinner together every night, which felt like we were part of their family. We will miss you guys and wish you all the best! Jacob and Daan ☀️

Sophia was a lovely person to have around. She stayed a month with us in rural mountains of Honduras and did a wonderful job adapting to this environment that is completely different from what she was used to at home. Sophia maintained a calm and patient demeanor and wasvery respectful to everyone that she related to. She is working on strengthening her handle on the Spanish language, and I saw a tremendous improvement over the month that she was with us. Thank you, again, Sophia,, for being such a willing participant in the daily life adventures here in these muddy, rainy mountains.

Our experience with Madeleine was exceptional. Madeleine was not only our host but quickly became a dear friend, who made every effort to ensure we experienced the best of Swiss culture and cuisine. It was such a privilege to be able to share in her vision to restore her childhood home to its original beauty. There was no shortage of variety in work, from gardening to cleaning, sorting, harvesting, the days flew by. We especially appreciated Madeleines wide scope of knowledge and experience making for so many interesting conversations. It was difficult to say goodbye and hopefully we will be able to return again sometime.

This Workaway was the first we did together as a couple and we stayed for 3 weeks at the beginning of lovely Autumn! Carolyn and River welcomed us instantly into their world, shared their daily lives and skills with us! We had a great time with them, learned a lot, and had many different tasks on their property to contribute in a meaningful way. We loved staying in the amazing tower, it was definitely the perfect place for us to unwind and enjoy the beautiful nature. We had many great talks, shared freshly cooked meals together, explored the nearby area, and loved spending time with their kids. The communication went really well before and during the project, and our needs, limitations and skills got integrated into the work as well. We definitely recommend their life project to anyone who wants to enjoy nature and be productive in a sustainable environment. Thanks again for this great experience!

Coming here, we felt immediately embraced by Jackie, Marcello, Richi, and Adrian. It was so clear from day one how much they cared about the land that they tended to and making sure their visitors had a good experience too. We learned so much about the process of farming in this region and had so much fun getting our hands dirty! We would’ve worked all day long if they would have let us!! :) Not only did we get to experience the BEAUTIFUL naturaleza, but we enjoyed spending quality time with one another!! We had great conversations (in Spanish and sometimes English) with Jackie, Marcello, Richi, and Adrian, in addition to fun activities like trying local ice cream, swimming in a nearby river, watching movies, and dancing around the kitchen. :) It was an amazing time and we could not recommend this Workaway spot MORE!! SO much love!! Volveremos pronto!!

I spent a wonderful month and a half here, and Huaraz was truly the highlight of my entire South America trip. The time I worked at Mila’s travel agency was amazing too. My main task was to stay at the office and assist travelers who came in for information, so during my first few days I had to get familiar with all the tours. That also helped me a lot in planning my own hikes and climbs later on. The agency also rents mountain gear, so I got to know the equipment really well and had plenty of chances to practice both my English and Spanish. My working hours were quite long — whenever I wasn’t out hiking, I was almost always in the shop. That was partly because I could see that Mila needed some help, and I was happy to be there for her. As someone who loves the outdoors, I genuinely enjoyed introducing tours to travelers and helping them choose the best options. Sometimes Mila had to leave to pick up her daughter or run errands, and I needed to handle things on my own — but don’t worry, she always gives you clear guidance and support. I also helped Mila promote all the tours on Chinese social media, which brought many Chinese travelers to the agency (some still contact me online even now!). I feel quite proud of that, haha. As for accommodation, volunteers have their own private room about a 30-minute walk from the office — just the perfect distance for a nice walk. The only thing is that there are quite a few dogs at night, which scared me a bit. The shower has great hot water when there aren’t too many guests. I also met many of Mila’s old friends there — mountaineers from all around the world. My favorite place was the rooftop terrace, where you can see Mount Huascarán directly. The mornings and evenings there were my favorite moments of the day. During my time here, I visited Laguna 69, climbed two technical peaks, and did the Huayhuash Circuit (which was absolutely mind-blowing — truly the best trek I’ve ever done). This region is far more beautiful than I ever expected — a real hidden gem with endless places to explore. Lastly, about Mila — she’s always busy, so volunteers shouldn’t expect much personal attention. You’ll need to take care of yourself. But once you spend some time with her, you’ll see her true charm: a strong, brave, hardworking entrepreneur; a loving mother who gives everything to her daughter; and a kind, genuine, trustworthy friend. She’s truly an inspiring woman to me. I sincerely wish her all the best — and I really hope to come back one day!

This was my first Workaway experience and I don't think I could've chosen a better one. Oliver and Laia were incredible hosts and are incredible people for the amount they do for the dogs and volunteers. They work tirelessly every day to give the dogs the best life possible. The work is really rewarding and you get lost of free time to explore the area and visit the beautiful town of Almuñecar. I fell in love with a lot of dogs and it was extremely sad to leave them behind but I'm sure I'll return one day to adopt a dog as they are all so friendly 🐶 Lastly, I had an incredible time with the other volunteers, playing card and dice games every day on the patio and just having great conversations with lovely people. If your considering volunteering at the dog shelter I'd 100% recommend it it's a brilliant experience and you'll make friends for life (both dog and human) :)

Helen and Gabriel's farm was my first workaway. From the first time we contacted each other, Helen has been a very cheerful and lovely person. She is very kind, every time she brings us work clothes, homemade jams, and other items when she visits the farm. Gabriel is not only an amazing cook, also has a deep knowledge that goes beyond agriculture, and he enjoys playing various instruments, he is so versatile. I visited in July and it was a comfortable stay surrounded by mountains. I was happy to be able to eat lots of different types of tomato, zucchini, and summer vegetables with each meal. Every moment here is beautiful, from the sunrise to the starry sky.I had a wonderful and peaceful time. Thank you so much. I hope to see you again.

Azaria and Tessa are wonderful to have around. They are enthusiastic, intelligent, honest, hard-working and most importantly full of the joy of life. They are excited to have a go at anything and suck up any knowledge or new skill you’re willing to share with them. They were here for five weeks and they gardened, moved a big chook house to a new location, painted signs, sanded floors, weeded garden, used ride on, whipper snippet, made a curtain etc They self entertain and take up any opportunities you offer as far as social events and things on in town, mix great with the local community and my friends.. Really just easy to have around. I Highly recommend them and will miss the sound of their laughing and sense of joy which is contagious.

The place is extraordinary, beautiful and very quiet in the mountains 1 hour from Málaga, surrounded only by olive and almond trees. María and Carl are very friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed a lot the conversations and work with them. María's cooking is absolutely delicious! Their dog Tommy and cat Maumau are very cute and Tommy is always happy to be caressed and to go for a walk. The studio is just perfect to feel at home and the view from the terasse is terriffic. The village of Comares at 7 km, so high up in the mountains has a breathtaking view over the mountains and to the sea! It is such a beautiful landscape and nature! I helped Carl and María for 1 week with gardening, some painting, cleaneng the terrasse or repairing things. I would have loved to stay longer, but got ill and had to leave earlier than planned. Thanks María and Carl for the terriffic experience at your beautiful place!
