My experience with Andrew and Laura was absolutely inspiring. I learned so many things from them. It was my first Workaway, and I was incredibly lucky to have come across their page and eventually travel there. My main tasks were taking care of the goats: milking them every morning, taking them to browse, cleaning their house, preparing their evening snack, and bringing them back in the evening to feed them and the other animals as well (they had the cutest turkey EVER!). Apart from caring for the animals, I also did various tasks around the farm — from picking and planting to weeding and pruning. They taught me how to make wine and cheese (I had some of the most gorgeous wines ever — from rose petal wine to elderberry, all homemade!), and we also made pickles together. I really enjoyed their company in general. We went on small day trips, and they showed me the highlights of the area. I always felt welcome to join their trips and gatherings. I also had the chance to be surrounded by magnificent river beaches, wooded trails, and the beautiful Portuguese landscape. I’m truly happy to have met them and to have had the opportunity to stay there, and I hope to go back to visit them soon.

We really enjoyed getting to know and hosting Kaho at our farm. She was keen to give things a go and learn new things and soon enough became the main sourdough baker in our house when we were away. She got along well with others, was great with my daughter, helped in the garden and also helped look after the animals. Thank you for everything and I look forward to visiting your bakery one day! Best wishes in your travels to South Australia and beyond 🙏

I very happy that i spend wonderfull time at this farm. I had my own house without walls, only mosquito net, you can feel full conection with nature without mosquito bites. Its far from main road and its very quiet. Very nice climat and good cuted grass, so you can walk barefoot. Hosts are the best, very friendly. We had a lot of conversation about diffret topics. Maria is great master chef. Vegan Yuca pizza is something you can get anywhere else :) They inspire me a lot. Lovely couple who do everything by them self. I wish you the best guys.

Zet and Agat were beautiful and hard working persons who loved the nature and socialising. Their care for the nature also remind us to do something more about nature conservation.¸The daily tasks were always made perfectly, without any complications. They have specially gave huge effort for the river banks cleaning, where after few time of cleaning, they have still find so many trashes. They loved cooking lunches and passtries for the team, while socialising was very important. We would like to thank them for everything and we wish them all the best in the future.

Julia stayed at my farm while I was traveling. She took care of my animals and olive trees. Doing some cleaning of the olive terrace and overall care taking of the property, whenever issues came up, e.g. with the toilet or camping guest. The communication was great, I felt she kept me in the loop as much needed, so I didn't need to worry. She also has a good hand with handy works, she renewed silicon in the shower and even optimized what I had put in place. I'm really grateful for her dedicating her time and energy during her stay!

I’m not sure if I can fully express all my feelings here, but I’ll do my best to put them into words:) The experiences and lessons I gained during these two months have become a true treasure in my life. I also feel that this time marked a new beginning for me. The days I spent with Amanda and Daniel felt almost surreal, yet at the same time, they became a precious part of my everyday life. Each and every moment was special, and this is a place where I’ll always hold those memories close to my heart.🥹 Their lovely dog, Rocky, was absolutely adorable -always watching over us when we finished work, bringing comfort and love to everyone. Every morning before starting work, I would spend time gazing out the window at the tall, majestic oak tree. The scenery was so beautiful that no matter how many times I looked at it, it never felt like enough, I already miss it dearly. This place was also filled with many books that we could read freely, but for me, the most valuable learning came from my conversations with Amanda and Daniel. Through our discussions on so many different topics, I gained new insights and perspectives, and I often felt my imagination expanding in wonderful ways. Meeting Amanda and Daniel and exchanging honest opinions with them broadened the way I see the world and how I think about things. Their words and ideas have deeply stayed in my mind! About tasks🏃‍♀️: All the tasks were completely new to me, ex) jackhammering, weed wrecking, splitting and stacking wood,,,so many various tasks! but every single one of them was fascinating. For anyone interested in renovation, I can’t imagine a better environment than this. No matter how knowledgeable Amanda was, she always guided me patiently from my perspective, showing me each step carefully. She also took the time every day to plan the work based on my interests and always made sure my body’s condition before and after each task. Off days: I also loved how flexible the schedule was. On weekends, I enjoyed kayaking in the mystical nature nearby with other workawayers, and I also took a few trips to Berlin!I followed most of Amanda and Daniel’s recommendations and every single one was wonderful, leaving me with unforgettable memories. For dinner, Amanda and I often took turns cooking. It was actually my first time cooking so frequently, and I had such a great time experimenting with different spices and seasonings to create dishes from all around the world including Japanese food, of course! After dinner, we would relax and watch movies with other Workawayers on the big projector, which always felt like a dream. The two months passed by so quickly, and saying goodbye was really heartbreaking. But I don’t believe this is the end — I’m sure I’ll come back again. I’ve found my second home here ❤️ With all my heart, I want to say thank you for everything, and for all the love and kindness you’ve shared with me!!

I helped out at the shelter for 2 weeks back in July this year. It was awesome and a great opportunity to spend a bunch of time with loads of dogs and good people. The help was split into cleaning the shelter in the morning, and walking and feeding the dogs in the afternoon. Be ready for lots of barking, tugged leashes and dog poo. Kishor and Jessica hosted a few pizza nights while I volunteered, so I was able to eat a bunch of fresh pizza. The shelter is located in an area near to many hikes via transport so you have tons to do on your time off, as long as you make the effort. Thank you Jessica and Kishor for what you do and letting me help out at your shelter!

Ragna and Carla stayed with me for a week and arrived just when that spring flush was getting out of hand. These two got stuck in and made such a difference with the weedeater, cleaning and tidy-ups. They were easy going and interesting company. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and highly recommend them!

What an unexpectedly educational and peaceful experience! We were bored at home as from the UK but travel lots and thought we'd reach out to somewhere to keep us busy in the UK The food forest was more than we could have hoped for. We had a cosy caravan to stay in and access to kitchen, toilet and hot shower. Mainly an abundance of food! So much delicious food grown organically in a sustainable way. We learned so much about why plants, trees etc were planted where they were, how to care for, propogate, prune, harvest and preserve them. We think the workload was very fair and Kamil and his family friendly, kind and a fountain of knowledge when needed. Waking up here and having coffee by the pond was a dream and we loved being active in the garden or Polytunnel doing our jobs. Making jams, chutney, jelly and all sorts of treats was a highlight for me (Kelly) Kamil also let us bring our small well behaved dog who had the time of her life exploring the grounds and patrolling daily. If we are back home for an extended period again we would love to come back beyond grateful

This is a very late review, but better late than never! I stayed with Patrick and Valencia in 2023 for a few weeks and had a great time helping around the farm with basic and enjoyable tasks. The help was diverse and not difficult at all, it included feeding and caring for the animals, building fences, helping move around farm machinery, cooking etc. I was the only volunteer for the few weeks I was there, and at times felt a bit isolated, however, this was at no fault of the hosts as both Patrick and Valencia were very warm and welcoming, and would offer different experiences to make my time at the farm enjoyable and something to remember. I enjoyed my time with Patrick and Valencia and greatly appreciate their kindness.

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Franzi and Tjaya. They are lovely, kind-hearted ladies who made our first experience with Workaway a truly positive one. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and learning about their lives. They were wonderful with our son and easy to have around. They worked incredibly hard helping us get our home and gardens back into shape after a period of serious neglect following our son’s arrival. They rescued our veggie patch, house garden, and food forest from being overtaken by weeds, mulched everything beautifully, and even gave our home a much-needed spring clean. We are beyond impressed with their dedication, initiative, and work ethic. We can’t thank them enough for everything they did and feel so lucky to have had them as our first Workawayers. We wish you both all the best in your future travels and hope our paths cross again someday!

Aylin was a great help! She worked really hard in the garden and learned new skills really fast. And it was nice to cook together and have cultural and filosophical exchange during the meal. 👍

Annie was the perfect Workaway. Every job we gave her she completed promptly and to a high standard in a happy manner. She was very respectful and helped prepare and clean up after meals. Her English improved so much in the two weeks she spent with us and we even learnt a few French words and maybe out dogs did too as she often spoke to them in French. Good luck Annie for your adventures in New Zealand. We miss you already. Bon voyage Annie

I feel so lucky to have found this place. Çoşku is always so kind, helpful, and understanding — she makes you feel at home from the first moment. The vibe here is always chill, and it’s so easy to connect with people in the common areas. There’s a big kitchen where you can cook for yourself or share meals with others, which makes it a beautiful place to exchange cultures and stories. This place is also right in the heart of İzmir, so it’s super easy to explore the city, walk around, and feel the local energy. Thank you for everything, again and again. I’m so grateful for the memories and hope to always stay connected with this place ❤️

Nadege came and was a great help as three visitors came and stayed for a few days. . We had a successful dinner party helped by Nadege. She cleaned my small car beautifully and also my bathroom tile pointing thoroughly. She was a great help round the house and laid pea straw in part of the garden . Her weeding was helpful too. Off she went in her newly purchased Toyota hatchback for more adventures.

I had a great time on Tonsai beach. it was very quiet when I arrived and also rainy season , which could be a little isolating and lonely sometimes. the bungalows tend to get damp and so a lot of clothes can grow mould. However, there is laundry available. Dory was an amazing integral part of the team and always kept me informed, checked in to see how I was and always asking if I needed anything. although I didn't meet her, she was a lovely person to have at the end of the phone. The place is total jungle style so you would need to be ok with all types of insects. The work was easy and there was not much to do which made the experience a little harder but I totally understand this was down to it being low season. The food cooked every day was beautiful and I missed it as soon as I left! Unfortunately I had a little accident on the rocks in the sea which caused and infection in my foot so I left slightly earlier than expected. Overall my experience was positive and would recommend to other workaways
