My stay with Claire offered a valuable opportunity to gain an insight into French culture and develop my French language skills. Claire is incredibly patient in teaching vocabulary and helping with grammar, and I really appreciated her kindness in this. The house is very beautiful, in the countryside surrounded by wildlife and nature. Plume, the cats and the chickens are wonderful. Claire really invites you to partake in her life, there are often dinners and parties, which provide the opportunity to meet and chat with her friends, who are lovely. I found the work could be a little difficult, just because some days it was quite unclear when I was expected to work, and when I could 'switch off'. most days it involved walking the dog and feeding the chickens in the morning, and then clearing ivy or brambles, trimming plants- nothing very complicated but it could be quite tiring. This work was sometimes in the day, unless there were chores to complete, in which case it would be in the evening. I think to stay here for an extended period of time as I did (3 weeks) you must be prepared to work every day, and work at irregular hours each day. There is very little routine or schedule in the house, which creates a freedom and creativity, but also can mean that sometimes dinner may be at 22:30, or there may be lots of people staying over etc. Claire is an incredibly caring woman, with a very loving nature, she is very thoughtful and considerate.

Another puzzle piece to my Soul ... Thats truly what i ve found here. I don't want to describe all what we did, how it was and so on. Much is already written here and things changing anyways and everyone will make other experience here some how, thats for sure. What was important to me, was the love I saw in so many things, especially to all the sweetest animals of Sunny. And you may have experiences you ll never will find somewhere else like this... still touched by the ride up to the mountains to their homelands. So special 🥹🙏🏽. Also there was a lot of trust from Sunny, that we would take same care of horses, dogs etc. as she does. I could have the first ride on my own with one of her wonderful horses, which ment a lot to me. Facing inner fears and becoming more confident... more "bossy bitch like" haha. My Soul is grateful and feels connected to all i've found over there. No kidding, I love you Sunny. Thank you 😌💗 Lisa

Anna was a responsible, reliable, and thoughtful Workawayer — a real pleasure to host. She brought a calm, positive energy to the house, connected well with everyone, and often looked after and supported the other Workawayers. Hard-working, fun, and insightful, she contributed in every way and was great company to have around. Anna is more then welcome back.

I had an amazing two weeks with Anna, Miguel, Leah and little Elsa. They are some of the loveliest, kind and welcoming people I have ever met! Anna instantly made me feel welcome, showing me around and being extremely patient with my (sometimes questionable) attempts to communicate in Spanish. Miguel also was very kind and funny, they both made me feel very loved! The kids are absolutely awesome. Leah is super sweet and respectful and loves creative/crafting activities (so hanging out with her doesn’t feel like babysitting!). Elsa is the cutest girl. The hours were exactly as described, and the family was very generous, saving meals for me when I came home after lunch (which were always delicious). Vandellos is a beautiful town close to the beach and they made sure I was able to see the surrounding towns. Overall I cannot recommend this family more. Two weeks together went way too fast and I miss them already!

Woow!! what an incredible experience. Zaki is one of the most extraordinary person I have ever met. He's kind, generous, extremely hospitable, friendly and welcoming. I had an amazing one week with Zaki and his family in Lurah Bilut. A truly unforgettable experience. I can't recommend enough going to Zaki's place, and I can't describe the feeling; you just have to go there and experience it by yourself. Highlights for me includes going fishing to the river, going to his farm on motorbike, gardening, learning new things from Zaki like woodworking tips. And at last I'd say if you go there your taste buds will thank you for the rest of your life; bestest food ever. Thank you Zaki for EVERYTHING!!!

I have just beautiful memories of my time with Barb and Wayne. They are very hospitable, warm, and humorous people, and I felt right at home with them. They welcomed me and the other Workawayers like their own children. The lodge is incredibly beautiful and full of charm and character. Wayne built it by himself with the wood of the surrounding. It is located on a remote, natural island surrounded by water, forest, and wildlife such as loons and chipmunks, and in our free time, we could grab the kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats to explore the area. I enjoyed the work a lot, whether it was working in the garden or cleaning the cabins and the lodge and other jobs around the property, such as painting parts of the cabins. And I had the best meals ever: with fish from Lac Kipawa, moose that Wayne had hunted, and fresh homemade bread from Barb. I am incredibly grateful for everything (!) and will remember the time with Barb and Wayne an the other helper at the Lodge for the rest of my life.

Glenn is a joy to have around and I enjoyed his willingness to share conversation, worldviews, and company. He was super kind to my children and had that special ability to see what needs to be done and just jump in there and do it... a boon to a busy mom to come into the kitchen and find the dishes done, for example. He is detail oriented and did great clean up after our painting project, not to mention a careful application of the paint. I am sure that wherever Glenn goes on his next adventures, he will add to the community with heart and bring his light to touch all he meets. I heartily recommend Glenn to other hosts!

Zoé and Paula stayed with us for two weeks and they were absolutely amazing volunteers. During their stay in Opinogóra they helped with general maintainance such as collecting wood and digging holes for future projects. During the second week we stayed in Kielce and they both helped renovating the house. Their main tasks included painting the walls and the stairs and renewing parts of the garden. Additionally we could trust them as they could stay alone at our place without any doubts. I'm greatful our paths crossed!

I had the pleasure of spending a wonderful week with Markus and Alissa and I enjoyed every single minute. It was my very first Workaway experience, and it turned out even better than I could have imagined. The work was fun, we shared lots of laughter, and the food was absolutely delicious. It’s such an amazing feeling to eat so many things you’ve picked yourself from the garden 😃. I helped making apple juice, preparing the garden for winter, and collecting branches to tidy up the apple orchard – all under blue skies and in the best company of Alissa and Markus. Thank you both for all the beautiful memories I’m taking with me 🥰.

Betty is a hard worker. Her kids are polite and likable! I am grateful for the work accomplished! However her cat peed on the bed and sofa and it was not cleaned up or checked on after I noticed the smell an asked her to look into it.I even bought cat litter for her as she forgot! She also left 2 huge bags of trash I had to deal with:( She told me she could do plumbing/construction but was unable to help when those things needed fixing on tiny house she stayed in. I realize She is in a tough place traveling with much on her plate.I hope her Next endeavors will be a better fit!

Djinn is an excellent workawayer. He has done an amazing job in the garden, clearing and creating new veg beds, making borders for flower beds, and also doing all daily jobs for the animals. I am sure there are other things he has done which I have forgotten...Just 4.5 weeks he has made such a positive difference to the garden. He is also a fantastic human being. We have enjoyed great conversations, long walks, swimming in the sea, making meals, playing and listening to music... it has been really a special time having him here. All the other workawayers have also enjoyed his company. I wish him all the best on his next adventure and I look forward to hosting him again. I highly recommend Djinn as a workawayer if he asks to join you.

Thank you Mari, Tati, the dogs and all the amazing people I met at the jungle lodge. The food was amazing, the place was well kept, the tasks were clear and working hours were respected. Mari helped me to arrange a taxi from Brasilia and a ride from Alto Paraiso. Every morning at 9 am there is a meeting which made it very clear what was expected. In our free time we would swim in the pool, hike, go to cachoeiras or simply enjoy the place. Muito Obrigada for everything!

I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Kirsten and her family. We often worked together, whether outdoors harvesting veggies and preparing the garden for winter, or painting the interior of their new guest house. Kirsten is a great cook and loves to make healthy meals. She made sure I was well-fed and comfortable in her home. I appreciated the meaningful conversations we had about what's going on in the world, and I was impressed by her teenage kids who are smart, funny, and a joy to have around. Plus, the dogs the dogs are highly entertaining!

It was my pleasure to stay with Lee and her family. I really had a great time there. Lee is really kind, she cooks well as she is a chef. I enjoyed the time cooking and shopping in supermarket with her. I have lots of spare time to go to the city after morning I finished the works. The tasks were easy to be done, feeding the pets, vacuum, keeping everything clean. The house was cozy and near the train station, just 10 minutes walk and around 35 minutes to the city. Thank you for hosting me again and let me have a safe and warm home in Melbourne. :)

Gaia came into our lives like a ray of sunshine. Open, talkative, and full of energy, she brought joy and warmth to our home in Palma from the very first day. In just a few weeks, she became part of our family — my daughter absolutely adored her, and their bond was something truly special. Gaia is kind, thoughtful, and proactive, always ready to help and to share her positive energy with everyone around her. She left us to continue her studies, but our home will always be open to her, and we truly hope to see her again soon.

We had very meaningful and impactful experience with peter. He did marvelous job with us and with our students. Basically, he played a role to enhance English speaking level of our students and creative writing in English literature.

I had an amazing stay at the refuge with Lizz! Every day we fed the dogs, played with them, gave them love, and helped with daily tasks like preparing their food, cleaning, picking limas in the garden, sanding and painting the walls… There’s always something to do, but the atmosphere is so nice that time just flies. Lizz is an exceptional person ; funny, full of energy, and incredibly kind. She quickly became like a friend to me. She does everything with so much heart, and it’s truly inspiring to see how dedicated she is to caring for her dogs. And on top of that, she’s an amazing cook! During my stay, I ate so well and so healthily : every meal was delicious and made with love. If you love animals, nature, good food, and genuine human connections, I absolutely recommend this place. You’ll leave with a big smile (and probably a dog in your heart ❤️).
