We stayed with Adam for two weeks. One week in Opinogóra with Adam, Anna and Franek and one week in Kielce just with Adam. It was our first time with workaway and it was the best choice to stay at their place! We were welcomed with open arms and with deliciuos food. Our main tasks in Opinogóra were collecting wood and helping with general maintainance. In Kielce we helped with renovating the house. We painted and cleaned the garden. It was a lovley excperience and we highly recommend.

Describe our experience with Elena? Easy, she'is the perfect workawayer ever! and it was her first workawaying experience! Elena is a sweet young soul that is not afraid in getting involved in any kind of work: gardening, painting celling, scratching walls then coating them and I probably forget some others. She's a hard worker and anything you ask her is well done, working alone or in team. More over, she is always in good mood, ready for interesting conversations and have a solid sens of humour. She is such a kind person, it was so nice to have her with us and spend time together . We still thank you for your unvaluable help and presence and wish you all the best Elena. Love from us all.

Logesh stayed with us for a week before heading home for Diwali. Even though his stay was short, he did an amazing job with web development. He’s super skilled and always takes initiative! He also joined the other volunteers for morning weeding and planting just for fun, even though he didn’t have to. Logesh brought great energy to the group — from card games to kayaking trips, he was always up for a good time. We’d love to have him back anytime!

Staying with Gilberto was an absolutely fantastic experience, and I hope I am able to go back one day! Gilberto was the kindest host, and beyond that was a fantastic person who I genuinely feel so grateful to have met. He went above and beyond to make me feel welcome in his homestead, and was enthusiastic to show us around Rome during the weekend. and I can genuinely say I've rarely met such a friendly and relaxed person. I really feel like I made a friend during my time there, with him and the other workawayers! As the project was in its early days, I was given multiple options and was encouraged to pursue any work I was interested in - so I spent most of my time working on the garden and beautiful footpaths leading up to the property. It was extremely relaxed and I got to see so much exciting parts of life in this rural part of Italy. Thank you Gilberto, I feel so lucky to have had you as my first workaway host and I wish you nothing but the best !! (also I'm sorry it took me so long to leave feedback!)

Staying at Mamadou's and his family's house was an absolute pleasure! They are welcoming and very kind people who made us feel like family from the first second on. We were able to really get to know the life within a Senegalese village. We were watching local football matches together, learned some Wolof, went dancing in the women dance circle, ate all the delicious food, helped with construction on the house, worked on the fields (while singing Senegalese songs) and had lots of lots of conversations and discussions about Senegal, its traditions, its culture and its religion. Mamadou is the best cultural exchange partner you can wish for. He is absolutely open to talk about every topic and share his personal opinions and beliefs - even when we were asking more difficult maybe also critical questions. We learned so much and are so thankful for this truthful and authentic exchange. We couldn't wish for more :) Thank you for everything and we hope to see you again very soon Luke and Mona Fecho leng leng fecho fecho leng leng foya

We had a beautiful experience during our month here. The place is gorgeous, peaceful and comfortable. We got to know Monique and Jim a few days after our arrival and they were super kind to us. Nadir was our initial guide around the place, and of course, kind and amazing Gabriel, one of the workers there with whom we had the most amazing talks and shared a lot about our cultures. Tasks can be different each day but mainly outdoors (which is what we like most), they usually involve gardening, trimming, planting, watering, feeding ducks and chicks, cleaning spaces and organizing. Only thing to be mindful of is that the town and supermarkets are 5km away. To move around you can rent a bike o take taxis (3 dollars per person). It was ok for us since we took turns with other workawayers, but is important to know that taxi is almost the only choice to move around. We would definitely visit the Finca again, we had a great time there! And there are lots of places to explore in the island and on the other islands too, recommend! Thank you for everything ;)

Staying at Malena and Graham’s home was a truly rewarding experience. The house is very cozy and located in a quiet neighborhood where I felt at home from the very first day. They were always kind and attentive, replying quickly to any questions and making sure I had everything I needed. As for Jake and Kanga — honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better company! They’re both such friendly, calm dogs and always excited for a good walk. I already miss their energy and affection. Thank you so much for trusting me to take care of Jake and Kanga and for giving me such a special experience. A big hug to you both and a special cuddle for Jake and Kanga.

After making her booking, the volunteer didn't respond to my enquiry about her travel arrangements - she's supposed to be here tomorrow and she obviously isn't coming because she doesn't have the address. In the past few weeks, I have said no to 3 volunteers because I had this booking.

Rita and Arnau were exceptional volunteers. Both before and during their time with us the communication was abundant, clear and organized. They were a pleasure to work with, full of great ideas and skills, and made our workflow together very easy. Very well-rounded people, they had a variety of skills that they were able to bring to the table, from art, to tech help, to organizational vision, and all with a very positive attitude. They were great at working independently. They took on a complex renovation project, organized their time and made priorities, and did an incredible job bringing it to completion. On top of what was asked of them, they also came up with their own ideas, suggestions and improvements that we will definitely be incorporating into the project! Thank you so much guys, you definitely left the place better than you found it, and I'm so happy to have your art on our walls to remember you by! You're welcome to come back and visit us anytime :)

Coucou Margaux, Negrita and family :) What can I write to you that we haven't already said in person :) You've been a clear example of less to more, seriousness, respect, helping dogs, and all your colleagues. You've left your mark and taken in a dog that not everyone would be willing to adopt. We wish you the best in your new phase with Negrita and your studies. We're sure you'll shine with what you're going to study. ALL the BEST!!! A big hug, Team

Manfred is, without question, the best host I could have wished for. It was my first time away from home. He patiently answered all my questions in advance and I felt incredibly welcomed and supported from the moment I arrived. He taught me so much about kangaroos and took every opportunity to teach us about Australian wildlife in general. He truly cared for his volunteers, making an effort to give us a truly unique experience, taking us on rescues and to the vet to witness the treatment of a sick animal. The work can certainly be demanding when there are many animals in care at the moment, requiring extensive cleaning and specialized treatments for sick animals. However, most of the cleaning is efficiently managed in the mornings. The rest of the day is mainly dedicated to feedings, which are always a highlight and a lot of fun. The kangaroos are the best. They are so special with such different personalities! Living so close to them is a very special and wonderful experience. Many of the released kangaroos even come back in the evening to get some food. It is truly magical! Also we consistently enjoyed the shared evening meals. Manfred is a talented cook who goes out of his way to accommodate everyone’s preferences, often preparing excellent vegan dishes. Dinner preparation is a social event; he frequently offers a glass of wine, and we spend the time chatting and bonding. Volunteers are also encouraged to prepare their favorite recipes, adding a wonderful cultural exchange element. We usually conclude our evenings with relaxed, communicative get-togethers such as watching TV or Series together or simply watching the kangaroos snuggeling in their pouches. Even after a hard day's work, Manfred often took the time to take us outside to look at the stars and search for nocturnal Australian wildlife, such as possums. I ended up spending over three months at the shelter and absolutely loved it. The community is incredible, including both Workawayers and dedicated local volunteers who assist weekly. It is a true testament to Manfred’s hospitality that many Workawayers who left to travel Australia have returned for a second stay. Some even canceled travel plans to extend their time. I, too, stayed far longer than initially planned and even returned for an extra week before heading back to university. I am already making plans for a third visit in March. Manfred has not just built a shelter; he has created a beautiful community that became my second home and second family. I miss them all a lot.

I spent a wonderful time with Mark and Daca in their beautiful villa in Klinci. From the very first moment, I was greeted with hospitality and warmth; they are incredible people. Mark and Daca are attentive hosts who strike the ideal balance between providing guidance and allowing independence in their work. The tasks were varied and interesting—from property maintenance, gardening, construction assistance, and helping them with other projects. I learned a lot from them in every activity! The location is spectacular! Klinci offers stunning sea views, and there's so much to explore in the area—beaches, trails, and historic Kotor are all within walking distance.I highly recommend this experience to anyone with maintenance skills looking for genuine hosts in one of the most beautiful places in Montenegro. I left with new skills, friendships, and incredible memories! Unfortunately, I had to leave because my visa for Montenegro expired, but I would have stayed much longer if I could. I plan to return later this year! Throughout my experience with WorkaWay, volunteering at dozens of properties, I can say with absolute certainty . They are among my favorite hosts! Thank you, Mark and Daca, for everything!

Our experience working with Paul at the hotel is one that we will treasure for a long time. We couldn’t have had a more perfect first Workaway experience. The town is beautiful and we got to enjoy the changing of the seasons while doing a construction project renovating a kitchen and bathroom. Paul is a very flexible and generous host. We had flexibility in structuring our work days (shorter or longer depending on what needed to be finished) and were able to take our weekend on a Sunday-Monday to fit travel plans (they even picked us up and dropped us off at the train station!). There are some beautiful hikes around St Jean and an easy bus route to visit Annecy with much to do and see there. Huge thank you to Paul, Teak, Al, and Barbara! We are overall extremely satisfied with our time in St Jean and will be coming back in the winter one year!

Staying with Emel and Dennis was such a joy and I feel so sad to leave. Although I only stayed less than 2 weeks, I learned a lot and had a great time. Emel was the kindest host in every way possible and I am so grateful for everything. It was amazing to get a chance to see everything the area had to offer and try some delicious food. Staying with them felt like home. We had lots of interesting conversations and it was a really valuable opportunity to learn about Turkey, history and the process of building/renovating a house. The work was relaxed and diverse and it allows you the possibility to learn new skills while getting an insight into making a home. I’d highly recommend staying with Emel to anyone and it was a true pleasure, I’d love to return in the future to see how the project develops and see how the plans for the future unfold. Thank you so much!!

Anne was a true fighter. She arrived early in the season and helped us prepare so many things at our house/guest house as well as in the Calligraphy Center. Without her, we wouldn't have made it; she helped us prepare for the season really well. She is very independent, responsible, thoughtful, hardworking, clean, organized, respectful, creative and full of good energy. We could read her positive vibe and genuine intentions the moment we met her from her smile and her hug. We'll always remember that good energy from being around her. Her communication and organization skills are amazingly great. She did a fantastic job as our "HR" person, recruiting new volunteers for the 2025 season in the Calligraphy Center. She also prepared the yurt for volunteers and was the first one to live there independently. During her stay here, she was getting on well with other colleagues and the family. She got on great with our child and played with him. She was open to new ideas, dialogue, and experiencing new culture. She also took the time to learn some calligraphy and shared the joy of it with everyone around her. The guided tours she conducted for tourists at the Calligraphy Center were amazing, representing our center very professionally and positively. We are truly grateful for all that she's done for us and our center, and she will always have a home back in Kharkhorin.

Wow, where to begin ? I stayed with the delightful George and Nicki for 2 weeks and had the most fabulous time on Gabriola Island. The work was varied and they always ensured that I didn't overstretched myself! Having an insight into their lives and embracing their daily routine was delightful. They are super fit for their age and inspiring in every way. Nicki kept me very well fed and I always felt cared for and valued during my stay. They went above and beyond to make sure I got to fulfill my dream of seeing bears. Gabriola and the surrounding area are beautiful and their home has a stunning location. It was sad to say goodbye, however, I left with a very happy heart filled with their love and generosity and a passion for Canada and it's people...plus the bears 😉

I stayed with Amber, Rafail and their son Iosif for 3 weeks and it was a really wonderful experience! They were very welcoming and open hearted for exchange! Amber communicated and explained everything really well and I felt really appreciated by her. I especially enjoyed learning about herbal remedies and essentail oils. I had very different tasks from helping in the garden to rearranging the kitchen. There are nice beaches nearby and Chalkida is in walking distance so I always had something to explore in my free time. Amber also took me to a eco festival and to one of her friends place in the mountains which was lovely. Iosif is a very energetic and funny boy who I also loved spending time with- I can definetly recommend staying with Amber and her family!
