Charlie came to help us at a critical moment after wildfires had damaged our land and infrastructure. With his help we were able to set up a new water system, which was vital at that time. Charlie helped install new tanks, pipe work and taps as well as creating irrigation ditches in a burnt orchard. His friendly face, company and conversation and his willingness to get stuck in and be of help whenever he was able were all a great support at that time. The whole family enjoyed having him stay.

My stay in the farm of Luz and Dana was amazing! They are so nice and accepted me like a part of their family. I had almost every meal together with them. Only if I wanted something special for myself I needed to pay it, the other dishes were included. In their house there are several rooms for guests so I always had my own private space for me if I wanted to have some time for me. The work is easy and there are many different tasks around the farm like taking of the bad weeds from the herb garden, plant new herbs, feed the animals or help Jorge the caretaker and gardener with maintenance tasks around the farm. The farm is a little bit far from the next cities Barcelona and Códoba which is great to have a calm time in the nature but also challenging to arrive. Make sure that you arrive early because if you miss the last bus from Armenia (at 9pm) you have to pay a Uber which costs almost 10 times the price of the bus (8000 COP). But don't worry during the day there is a regular bus every 40 mins which takes 45 mins to arrive in Armenia. In your free time you can explore the region around or relax at the farm and enjoy having lots of friendly animals around. There are 7 dogs, 2 cats, 2 cows, 2 pigs, 2 goats, a hen (which lets you pet her!), a parrot and a hamster. I love animals so I was super happy to spend time with all of them. In the evening sometimes we made a campfire if the weather was good. There is a big river and and a small stream (quebrada) nearby where you can take a bath and hike to the waterfall that is located upstream of the quebrada. All in all I had a beautiful time in the farm and I highly recommend staying with Luz and Dana. Muchas gracias por todo! El voluntariado fue un de mis favoritos!!! We have hosted several Workawayers, but Kaitlyn was our first Workawayer of her kind, and she has set a new, incredibly high standard. She is the kind of person you hope to find on this platform. Kaitlyn was an immense help in the garden, tackling weeding and other tasks with dedication. Our garden looks fantastic now, thanks to her hard work. But her help didn't stop there! With fantastic initiative, she and my son began the creative make-over of our camper van, starting the repainting with great energy and skill. Beyond that, she seamlessly became part of our daily life: she took our dog, Lili, for walks every day (and Lili adored her), and helped effortlessly with household chores. A true highlight was when she cooked us an incredible, from-scratch Mexican meal that absolutely blew us away! She is not just a helper, but a true cultural exchange partner. Our dinner table was filled with deep, meaningful conversations, and she integrated into our family with ease and openness. Her description of herself as a "curiosity driven individual" is perfectly accurate. She is polite, open-minded, and a joy to be around. We have no doubt that with her attitude, she will pick up any language she sets her mind to. We wholeheartedly recommend Kaitlyn to any host. She is reliable, thoughtful, and leaves a positive mark wherever she goes. We miss her already and wish her all the best on her adventures! She will always have a home with us.

Staying with Christine and Lawrence was my first Workaway-experience, and from the earlier reviews I was excited to spend almost three months there. But upon arrival, me and another workawayer were greeted with a tiny, messy room, filled with random things and hardly any space for us to store our things. The rest of the house was chaotic, which is not shown in any pictures, and cathair covers almost all surfaces. The atmosphere in the house was tense and there was a lot of yelling back and forth between the hosts, which was at times uncomfortable to witness. We voiced our feelings about the situation, but no efforts were made to improve anything, until we announced our early departure. Spending time outside in the gardens with Lawrence was nice, we helped him with cutting grass or getting some feed for the horses. He showed us around and tried to include us in whatever he did. The horses on the big field were almost all overweight and their hooves were either split or cracked, making them unwilling to move or be ridden. The old horse, Lefty, was severely underweight but wasn't provided a blanket for winter and is mostly left to fend for himself. Neither Christine nor Lawrence do much with the horses, so it seems like they're only kept around to attract workawayers. We didn't feel comfortable trying to ride the horses because of both their physical condition, as well as their obvious lack of manners, and mostly spent time grooming them, which was quite enjoyable. Many things weren't as advertised on their profile and I left after only two weeks, due to many factors. Please message me if you have any further questions.

J’ai passé un très bon moment chez Emma et Ben pendant quinze jours, et aussi avec leurs enfants Loup et Armel! Ils étaient gentils et très content de ne que parler français avec moi même s’ils parlent l’anglais aussi (c’était la raison d’y aller, pour pratiquer la langue). Quant au travail, j’ai passé la plupart du temps au jardin en faisant des choses variées (par exemple, désherbage du potager, coupe des branches, et construction d’un mur). Il y avait toujours un atmosphère accueillant chez eux, on est partis ensemble à une fête locale un jour, et on a mangé ensemble tous les soirs. J’avais beaucoup d’occasions à jouer au train avec Loup! Je recommanderais à tous de faire un Workaway chez Emma et Ben!

I spent a week at Laurence's workaway in October! I have to say the communication was excellent. We did a video call and after that we were in touch about when and how I would get there. Laurence is an extremely kind and a really great host! She accommodated me even though it was a stressful week for her so I really appreciated that. The work and hours were not very strenuous and I enjoyed doing the gardening and the spring cleaning! We had most of our breakfast and lunches together during which we had many interesting conversations. And the caneles were delicious so thank you for those! Many thanks to Jovan! with whom I did a lot of gardening. And lots of love to the fluffy and beautiful Nano! I would definitely recommend this workaway!

What a guy ! Iannis doesn't look like the average workawayer who send us a message, at first I was not sure how to answer to that guy with the greek name and the french accent. But the moment we started communicating and when he arrived here, I understood how contagious was his smile under his big moustache, how kind, openminded and always willing to help he was. Always eager to help, to take over any task needed, Iannis seems to never be tired or in a bad mood. He was a pillar when needed and a companion for the whole team. Thank you Iannis, have a great trip, we will wait for you to be back !

Best campsite ever. the team made me feel so accepted and at home. I honestly didn't want to leave. The work is as mentioned cleaning toilets, sweeping, cleaning cabins and yurts. But the time off you can really choose how you want to spend your time and you can create your own experience with it. The food provided is superior - you will never be hungry. I would recommend this Workaway to anyone! Thanks to Aleš and Gašper and the rest of the team for making the campsite such a beautiful place

We stayed as a family for little over two weeks and we had a fantastic experience at MDs campsite. MD mostly joined us every second evening (sometimes every evening) to speak about the day and tasks and projects for the next days. Although MD has a lot on his mind and is very busy, he is always warm, kind and has a smile for everyone. During our stay we repaired several things around the campsite, cleaned and prepared tents, yard and the house for guests. Also we started to build a small bamboo hut (pavilion) which was a great experience. Our daughter loved playing with the cats (Oyen and Bubu, but espacially Bestia) or by the river discovering nature (monkeys, fish, butterflies, snakes and many more). During our stay we were lucky that Anna and Ghazi (co-workawayers) watched over the campsite so we could have a weekend in Langkawi. We also had lots of nice walks through the village leading us to a Roti restaurant or just buy some bananas. The accommodation was fantastic. We had a seperate room upstairs and enjoyed the evenings down in the kitchen/living room. And the campsite itself is a dream with lots of trees, bamboo and things to discover. We feel lucky to have experienced this truly special place and highly recommend MDs campsite. It is just the perfect place to enjoy nature and the amenities of modern life. What a beautiful family! They made me feel so accepted and welcome from when I arrived at the door. I enjoyed their company and their location so much I extended my stay. The work on the farm can be tiresome, but I enjoyed learning what it is like to have a small organic farm. You'll be chasing goats, harvesting, cleaning yurts/airbnbs. The family however is the highlight. Geri, Elia and baby Dami are the loveliest kids you'll ever meet and you'll have a great time speaking English with them and learning some Italian. The experiences I received from staying here is unmeasurable. I am so grateful to have spent time here. so if you like hiking, via Ferrata or climbing, there are many people around to help

Monica is an honest, hardworking, and very motivated person. She took part in many activities with the students at our center and was always active, smiling, and full of positive energy. My parents and all the staff at the center really appreciated her kind and cheerful personality. We truly hope she will come back again, inshallah She will always be welcome here :)

I (Shai) stayed with Bien and her three wise and lovely dogs (Elko, Doenja, and Ch’aska) for one week, and it was a very nice and enriching experience. During the week, I helped with different DIY and renovation tasks such as sanding, painting, knitting shingles. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we still managed to go for walks with the dogs, take small drives to nearby villages, and even a longer trip through beautiful landscapes. I loved hearing Bien’s fascinating explanations about what we saw and about Dutch culture, and of course tasting traditional Dutch dishes together. Another highlight of my stay was learning how to spin wool with Bien - such a fun and meaningful experience that I’ll definitely remember. Thank you, Bien, for hosting me so nicely. I’m grateful for your kindness, attention and wise advice about my journey. I would love to stay in touch and visit again. 💐🐕

Nous sommes restés 12 jours, ce fut une bonne expérience chez Ane Marie ! Nous avons aidés essentiellement pour des travaux comme du nettoyage du jardin et aussi de la peinture pendant 4 à 5 heures par jour ce qui nous laissait le temps de découvrir les environs. Nous avions accès à la cuisine quand nous le souhaitions, et nous avons partagés des repas healthy avec Ane Marie (de très bon repas). Elle était très à l'écoute de nos besoins et nous avons pu échanger en anglais avec elle ce qui nous a permis d'améliorer notre anglais :) La Finca est magnifique avec une belle vue sur la mer qui était accessible facilement en bus (le trajet est a 1€30 pour aller à Nerja). Vous pouvez aussi accéder à Frigiliana à pieds en 20 min si vous êtes courageux ! Notre chambre était nickel, le lit est très confortable ! Merci pour tout !

Annie was another excellent workaway experience. Her initial shyness quickly disapeared and we could see the gentle sweet Annie that we believe made the best of her stay with us, for her and as well our family. She overcame her lack of experience with a real desire to fulfil all we required of. She truly deserves many more good hosts as she is a great, sweet young woman, like so many of her american people currently going through a difficult experience. You're always welcome back.

I stayed with Heiko and Joy for 10 days in September. It was my first workaway, but a I had a wonderful time! Joy and Heiko are so welcoming and friendly, they truly want you to feel at home. The cabin was really nice: we had our own private space where we could rest, read, puzzle,... and had everything we needed. We worked for about 4 hours a day, small tasks that were not difficult or to hard. After work, we would enjoy swimming, riding a bike, hiking or just chilling with the dogs ;) I had such a good time, I miss it already!

Katrina is a very friendly, skilled and open-minded person who loves to share her ideas and experience. We had really interesting conversations about Latvia and her observations in Germany in terms of cultural similiarities and differences. She helped us a lot by looking after our daughter who was very fond of her and loved to play with her. She also cooked us great meals with some typical Latvian ingredients and we made an excursion to Rostock together on the weekend. She was very considerate, carefuly and reliable and it was great having her around. Hope you'll have a great time in Germany & Sweden -all the best from us!

Joseph and Lucy were one of the best volunteers I had in 10 years. They stayed 2 weeks at the farm and they were really motivated to help during their stay. They work for some construction works, cleaning, taking care of animals, cutting the woods and weeding. Joseph can use many tools and thanks to them, a lot has been done. Positive people with easy going attitude, we are grateful. Thank you for everything and you are always welcome to the farm.

Thank you Thomas for your welcoming, I appreciated your family and the mood. It was a good break of mind for me. it was really cool to wake up every morning in this beautiful place as the rescue farm, in the deepth country of Ireland Thomas is funny, a smiling person. Jobs were clear and varied at the farm and in the airbnb buses. I have spend 4 weeks, and i had the lucky to be at the bus during the october month, during these we have decorating the area for Halloween, with funny . Thomas, Rachel and the rest of the family, i hope the best for you for the future , enjoy your new training at university and your place of workaway. Ich hatte eine tolle Woche bei Liss und Hermann. Sie sind super nett. Wir hatten nette Gespräche am Tisch (bei leckerem Essen und Wein!). Ich habe viel über Esel, Bio- und vegane Ernährung gelernt. Wir haben auch Saft gemacht, mit Trauben aus dem Garten. Mit den Arbeitszeiten ist Liss flexibel und es gibt immer etwas zu tun. Meine Aufgaben waren vielfältig: Futter für die Esel vorbereiten, Ställe ausmisten, Laub von den Bäumen aufsammeln, im Gemüsegarten arbeiten usw. Die Gegend ist ruhig und wunderschön, in der Natur, und die Esel sind so süß. Wenn ich wieder in der Gegend bin, werde ich mich auf jeden Fall melden. Danke für diese Woche, ich hatte eine tolle Zeit :)
