A fantastic week! Being my 1st workaway, I can truly say that it exceeded my expectations. Karl was a great host. From early communication to spending time on his farm, communication was always friendly and genuine. He truly cares to make a good workaway experience. I learned so much about olive farming as well as the Greek culture - in particular I enjoyed the daily 40 minutes drive to the farm, where we had lots of time to talk about all things. Thank you for your patience and for answering all my questions 😁.

I stayed with Ami and her family for 6 weeks. I was introduced to all tasks from the start and got included into the team. The children are lovely and a true whirlwind. There will be no boredom coming up and you should be adaptable to this. I was lucky to have Layla as a roommate. She was such a nice and friendly roommate. The tasks were very varied. I cooked, helped with the dishes, but moreover, I took care of the horses. Ami showed me everything necessary to work away. If you already have experiences with horse work that will be of great value. Otherwise: You should be willing to do some physical work. There are 7 horses to take care of on a daily basis (including mocking out) and although Ami helps most of the time, you might have to take care of them on your own from time to time. The horses are lovely and well behaved, but it can be exhausting, so keep that in mind. Throughout my time, I learned lots about Irish culture and the language. I was able to tag along for shopping trips as well. I really enjoyed all the chats and the movie evenings with Chinese food. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I wish Ami and her family all the best. I hope you find your perfect black mare. Thanks for everything!

Wish I had more time to spend here! The experience was a beautiful blend of wonderful human connections and adventures in the desert! Since day one I felt welcomed and home and very free to contribute on my peace and still able to explore around Jaisalmer! Jamil is a great host and the little Faruk will always make sure you had your tea! Thank you for the amazing experience!

Szab and Laura were such a lovely couple to host! They helped me a lot in the garden, especially with preparing the compost. Szab also taught my kids how to play the guitar. They are kind, respectful, and full of positive energy. I will definitely keep them close to my heart and always remember their time here. I highly recommend them to any host!

I stayed in Yakushima for a month, working at the village doing general farming/gardening work like weeding and watering plants and then also cleaning up the spaces that the students had used. We were living only a 5 minute walk from the nearest supermarket which was so convenient. I would pay for my weekly groceries and then get reimbursed by the village staff afterwards. The village, is about 15 minutes away via bike. Even with the e-bike, getting up to the village can be a challenge for the legs because one or two sections are so steep. All of the village staff were amazing and friendly. Sometimes they would drive me around to places on the island or we would go out for dinner together. I really hope I can somehow come back someday. Marianela was also really great. She isn't based in Yakushima but she was very easy to get in touch with if I had any questions or concerns and she would often reach out to me just to check in which I really appreciated. I'm about halfway through my working holiday so far and after doing several workaways I can confidently say this is the best workaway volunteer experience I've had so far and I highly recommend this to absolutely anybody who is considering using workaway in Japan. 5 stars. No complaints. Come and see beautiful Yakushima!

Morgane and Pierre were wonderful Workawayers. They completed all the jobs with energy and enthusiasm. They were respectful of the home and personal space, loved the pets, shared the housework and cooking, and joined in with everything happening in the family. It was a good cultural exchange - learning each other’s language, stories and culinary skills. There was a lot of laughter! I would love to see them again and highly recommend them to other hosts.

I had an amazing time in Dar tadamoun ! Benjamin is a great host and we shared good conversations about arts and life in general, and i had a lot of fun. The place is located in an athentic part of the medina where is it easy to meet some locals, and yet close to the countryside for great walks in nature. I had a lot of free time and autonomy, and you can also spend time with other volunteers there. The work isn't too hard and Benjamin can help you with guidance if needed :) Thank you so much for making my stay in Fes such a rich experience :) Take care, Maëlys

I had a really great time with Julia, Callum, and their two daughters. A beautiful house, a lovely private room with a balcony, a kitchen that invites you to cook, and a clean shared bathroom. The work was varied and interesting. We built a pergola, and there was plenty of plastering to do. Besides that, there’s always something to do in the garden, cleaning up, tidying, or cooking. It’s quiet and secluded, making it perfect for anyone looking to unwind. If you want to get around a bit, it’s definitely best to come with a car. Otherwise, I can just say thank you again for the time, the experiences, and everything I learned!

My experience in Vrav was excellent. I came there alone and Steen and Hristina gave me a pretty comfortable guest house by myself. I stayed 2 weeks because they had to recieve friends but I would’ve stayed more time. The food they make is amazing, the amount of work is fair and in particular for me pretty fun and new. They give you a very good and hospital treatment and a lot of independence and trust. I totally recommend the experience for anyone who seek for peace in a quiet village.

We had such a lovely stay with Tori and Julz! they are a super open minded and open hearted couple with the cutest cuddliest pets and their sweet son is an absolute sunshine to have around. their home is super beautiful and cozy and such a pleasure staying in. their work instructions were super clear and when they had the time they'd always be super engaged and involved also making the time and checking if we needed anything from time to time and answering any questions if needed. we even had some productive working sessions all together with music and good vibes out in the fruit garden. they are very passionate about their gardening and would always be so happy and excited to see the progress and we felt our work was very appreciated wich made us be so invested in the whole project getting the garden neat and pretty. Although it did need a lot of work and it could get exhausting we could always decide when to start and could take a break when ever we needed, splitting the hours is highly recommended and makes it a lot easier and it was always worth it. their good vibes and fun personalities made the whole stay so memorable. were very happy to have met this family, the cuddles from Bagira and Leo (cats) and Zuzu (dog) and the delicious meals and great conversations will be missed! thank you for having us, we're super excited to see the next steps in the garden and to hear from you again 🫶🏽

I had a great stay with the family! They have a comfortable house, a nice garden which I helped out with. I enjoyed spending time together for dinners and throughout the day. It felt like a home away from home, I’m grateful for their effort to make me welcome

Sofia and Jorgos are very spirited and so kind. Nikitas is also a great support for the workaway experience. I am so grateful for the connections we formed. They provided me with food, coffee, just everything. If I ever had an issue (like when my bag didn’t arrive), they helped me find a solution- Sofia even gave me pajamas borrow!! When I was planning my arrival were so helpful in figuring out and coordinating the travel, Sofia was very communicative and and picked me up in the closest town (Gytheio) which is incredibly charming and has expansive beaches. Jorgos showed how his family has been caring for the land for many generations and Nikitas taught me so much. Climbing up and down the terraces, doing the work, learning the processes of the olive harvest and then looking up to the beauty of the surrounding mountains, was glorious. Nikitas was my work partner during the preparation for the olive harvest and I greatly enjoyed learning from and working with him. It was wonderful to speak with Nikitas about absolutely any topic, he is very open, reflective and has interesting perspectives to share. His English is excellent. Returning from the fields, Sofia always had a tasty and hearty meal ready and shared dishes traditional to the region. She is a skilled chef and showed me how she made some Greek dishes and Greek coffee! Sofia also accommodated me as a pescatarian (vegetarian+ seafood). I loved falling into the quiet rhythm of village life in Selegoudi. It was really special to spend time in the cafe that Sofia and Jorgos run, the only business in town. You meet all of the villagers who are so kind and welcoming. Many with global connections. I only speak English and Spanish, but we were able to figure out communication. And I learned Greek from them. The volunteer home was an unexpected surprise, it is a traditional home with a kitchen and more than everything I needed, balconies overlooking the village and the mountains, a 3-5 minute walk to the center of town. I made my breakfasts in the cafe, but you could surely eat at the house with the kitchen. I helped in the beginning of October to prepare for the harvest and will be going back in November to work the olive harvest. It was an incredibly unique experience and beautiful to form these relationships. I am eager to return to Selegoudi to work and spend more time with Sofia, Jorgos, Nikitas and the villagers.

These are our two beautiful and precious couple! Leaving our hearts warm and full of love. They were so compassionate, so helpful and devoted to our family, to every member of it and our little pets. We were lucky for then to be back the second time as well through the stay in Georgia and we did make a promise to have them back soon again! All the best to our sweet couple! Love, Natia & Zura 💘

Sylvia and Bruno are wonderful people, kind, warm, and cheerful. When I arrived I was worry a little bit , but their pleasant energy and atmosphere in the house made my worries disappear, and I simply enjoyed myself. They have a beautiful house with an ocean view, animals and a garden, they will always help and understand your situation and your stay here will be as comfortable as possible. We spent time together, and they gave me the opportunity to get to know the Portuguese culture and discover new places.I also helped them around the house, tending the garden, and cleaning the area around the house. Sylvia and I also sometimes did exercises, and they liked my cooking, which was very valuable to me ,because I love to cook. I enjoyed helping them, and I'm glad they welcomed me so warmly. I can't describe in words how much I love them and what a wonderful experience it was.

Susan, Matteo, and Vito were amazing hosts for my first ever Workaway experience. I loved my time in Peniche with the family - they were incredibly helpful, flexible, chill, and fun! Their home presents a unique cultural exchange with Susan and Matteo bringing in stories, cultures, and languages from Italy, Colombia, Portugal, and even their time in the States and elsewhere in Europe. From Day 1, they welcomed me into their home and lifestyle. The work was not difficult - I helped with cleaning at the bakery during renovations and with creating social media posts and stories - and during the two days off, you can explore Peniche, go surfing, go biking, skateboard with the fam, or chill at the beach. Thank you for the incredible experience. <3

I stayed with Beth for three weeks, where together with another Workawayer we worked mainly outside doing gardening and some indoor tasks when the weather was bad. The work was varied, enjoyable, and relaxing. The place was wonderful, and the house was beautiful and very welcoming. Beth is also an excellent cook — she spoiled us with her delicious meals! She’s a very kind person who always tries to make you feel comfortable, and she also helped me with my English. She took us on a few lovely outings — to visit a museum, take a walk in a nearby town, listen to live music in a pub, and explore her beloved Beautiful Way. I’m also very grateful that she shared some of her recipes with us. I can more than happily recommend this Workaway stay — I’d definitely go back!

I spent a little over two weeks with the family and it was great! They are extremely welcoming, very kind and super endearing. I had a wonderful time with them. I felt right at home there. The food was very good. My tasks weren't difficult; they mainly consisted of pulling up some of the weeds in the garden.

Feed back for Sidney and Quinn  October 2025 We really appreciated the excellent help offered us by Sid and Quinn.  They stayed for five weeks and were very good company and capable and willing workers over a wide variety of tasks afforded by our rural lifestyle estate.  This included much gardening and the use of small power tools.  We are very grateful to them. By chance we had several other ww guests staying at the same time and Sid and Quinn proved willingly sociable and popular with them when we all met in the evenings, as we did often. They leave us knowing a lot about our area and the Far North (from their many explorations) and that they leave our already well organised estate in better shape than when they arrived.  We wish them well in all their travels throughout New Zealand.  They deserve the best of Workaway hosts.
