Greta is a wonderful person, she is very positive, we were very grateful to have had her help at our place. All the staff loved Greta. Hoping she gets to enjoy lots of cool places around the world through Workaway, as she did with us.

My experience in the dogshelter was amazing! Daniela was an amazing host and helped us whenever she could. She takes sush good care of all the dogs and you can see that they are all very happy. The work is really easy, you just have to walk all the dogs and somethimes help with cleaning the cages. I also slept in her house where there are 25 dogs just running around but that was an amazing experience for me!! If you love dogs this is an amazing place to stay at!

We couldn’t have asked more a more wonderful experience as our first Workaway experience with Virginie and Mario in Ribeirinha, São Miguel. Virginie and Mario are so incredibly authentic, intelligent, thoughtful, creative, and fun. They opened their enormous, beautiful hearts to us on their magical property. We loved staying in the cozy wooden cabin with the warm wood smell and extremely comfortable bed. And we were in heaven creating delicious meals together and on our own in the brilliant tiny kitchen cabin too. Virginie and Mario shared a lot about the culture and things to do in the area. They also shared a lot about the creative community and as artists we really appreciated connecting to these opportunities. We loved spending time on the land learning about the plants (many new and unique to us). We spent time weeding, installing a gutter and cistern, fixing a fence, feeding the birds, harvesting and propagating Moringa after a tropical storm, tending to the bees also after the storm, digging and separating Vetiver to grow new plants, cleaning up the Banana trees/forest, planting seeds with the moon, sharing the most delicious homemade meals from plants from the land together, playing with their super sweet and lively dogs - Estia and Cacao, going out to see music and the sea, and enjoying time together on and off the property. The work was not superficial, it was done with sincerity, care, and deep connection with the plants, animals, land, and spirit. Virginie and Mario, this land, animals, plants, and our experience will forever be in our hearts. We will definitely stay in touch and hope to come back one day! We are incredibly grateful and wish them an abundance of love!!!

We had a wonderful stay with Ivar and his sweet family. We loved having long conversations with them to learn more about Norway and how it is to live there. It was beautiful to have the possibility to communicate with 3 generations - kids, parents and grandparents, which gave us a good understanding of the local life and history. Also excellent possibilities to visit super epic nature nearby. We went into a cool cave, visited humbling glacier, sat on the marble castle and just had many calm walks nearby Ivar's home. Living and working in Ivar's place was also super chill. We got to live in a separate freshly renovated house, so we could just work on finishing it and making it even cosier. And they were very welcoming towards our dog as well, who had good time discovering Norwegian nature with us! Thank you for all the conversations and delicious foods!

Elia is a happy smiley person, it was great to have had his help, friendly and welcoming with everyone. You wont regret inviting Elia to your place!

David wurde uns von einem befreundeten Workaway-Host am anderen Ende von Slowenien empfohlen, und ich kann nur sagen TIPTOP !!! Immer super motiviert erledigte David selbstständig alle Arbeiten die anfielen, auch mal im Team mit einer anderen Workawayerin. Man kann sich keinen besseren Workawayer wie David wünschen, immer gut drauf, lösungsorientiert, steht auch gerne mal am Herd und kocht, bringt sich immer in das Geschehen ein - einfach klasse! Nicht zu vergessen seine Playlists die uns die Abende versüssten ;-) Du bist hier immer wieder gerne willkommen, wir wünschen dir weiterhin eine tolle Reise! Franzi and Elli were so welcoming and caring! Franzi even drove to Tortosa in the night during heavy rainfalls to pick me up which was quite dangerous for her. And Elli was in contact with me whole the time when i needed to spend the night in the train station because of the Rain and floods - they were really caring about me all the time. The work was hard sometimes, but they informed me well about what to expect before and it was also funny. They have wholesome neighbors aswell. I espacially enjoyed the time with the dogs and cats who trusted me really quickly. And even though the olive harvest is a quite exhausting time, Elli found some time to help me with a small fotoshooting with her pets and taught me how to do Italian Tortelli. I really felt like a part of their family from the first minute and hope to come back soon!

Christe stayed with my family for around three weeks, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was incredibly well-organized, clean, neat, and always kept everything tidy. Her efficiency and attention to detail was impressive, and she approached every task with high sense of responsability, a positive and proactive attitude. A truly reliable and respectful guest – we would welcome her back anytime and highly recommend them to any future host.

Loved it, a really unique Workaway and one of the most fulfilling culturual exchanges I've experienced. The work itself is great fun, leading group conversations with curious and engaged locals who are keen to practice their English and share their culture (and learn about yours, too!). Do not be put off if you have little/no prior teaching experience - all that's needed is enthusiasm, a bit of creativity if the conversation is running dry, and an ability to read the room and keep everyone engaged. The accommodation is basic, but comfortable, and located in (my opinion) the best neighbourhood of Istanbul: Kadikoy has great public transport connections, nice cafes, bars, and reasonably cheap food. It's a couch-surfing style setup, and in my experience the comfortable-ness of this depends on the number of other volunteers in the house: when it's at capacity, things can feel a bit busy, and you'll need some organisation around bathroom/showers etc. But when there are three or four of you, everyone has their own personal space, and it's a very nice atmosphere. Altan is a great guy with a busy schedule, but always quick to respond over message. Overall, I highly recommend - and I'd love to return should I pass through Istanbul again. Thanks guys :)

Andrea und Thomas - vom ersten Moment fühlte es sich an, als wenn ihr schon bei uns gewohnt und gearbeitet hättet. Ihr habt sofort - ohne viele Worte - verstanden, was zu tun ist. Unglaublich wie vielseitig wir euch einsetzen konnten - und das mit so viel Elan, Ausdauer und immer einem Lächeln im Gesicht. Ihr seid positiv - das färbt ab.Schaut, was alles passiert ist in diesen tollen drei Wochen zusammen: das Gewächshaus entkrautet und für die neue Pflanzung vorbereitet, Holz zerkleinert und gestapelt, Wohnwagen von innen renoviert, Früchte geerntet, unermüdlich Mandelholz geschnitten, sogar extra "Schichten" eingelegt, Tiere versorgt, Schattendach gebaut und noch vieles mehr. Ihr wart immer umsichtig und erfahren unterwegs und wir haben euch sehr gerne um uns gehabt. Eigentlich schade, dass ihr schon weitergezogen seid. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, euch mal wieder aufnehmen zu dürfen - und wünschen euch für eure weitere spannende Reise nur das Beste.

This was my first time in Italy and also my first Workaway, and I think it was a really great combination. I’m not going to lie the work wasn’t always easy, but the experiences I had were absolutely worth it. I met so many interesting people, enjoyed delicious Italian food, saw beautiful landscapes, and shared a lot of laughs. I want to thank Giovanni, Julia, and the rest of the family they are really wonderful people, and I wish them all the best in everything they do. I really hope to see you all again someday. I’ll always remember my time there with lots of love.

My experience with Patty, Stefan, Luca, and their sweet little zoo of fuzzy characters was the best way to settle into Milan. From the beginning, Patty was quick and clear with communication, letting me know the expected schedule and getting me oriented with how the house runs. The cats are incredibly sweet little cuddly things, even if it took them some time to fully warm up to me. Aria and Loki are simply the best. Aria is a jealous diva who is always looking for some attention, but my goodness is she a lover. Loki is the definition of a Good Boy. They are great dogs, but they are very strong and will lunge towards other dogs, so confidence with handling large dogs is a must. In the mornings, I would wake early to help feed the cats, take the dogs on their morning walks, feed the dogs, and tidy up the litter boxes, though Patty would typically help split this load in the mornings. I had most of the morning and afternoons free, and Stefan and Patty were extremely flexible and communicative about how to balance the times I needed to be at meetings for my study program. In the evenings, the dogs and cats were fed/walked a few more times, and most nights I would have dinner with Patty, Stefan, and their son Luca when he was home. Stefan is a fabulous cook and was extremely kind to accommodate my preference for vegetarian meals. Patty will say she's not much of a cook, but even she whipped up some nice meals in Stefan's absence. Overall, I had a super positive experience staying with the family. Patty and Stefan are kind, welcoming, and funny people - our evening chats over dinner were always the highlight of my day. Thank you Patty, Stefan and Luca for welcoming me in your home!

Gioia was such a lovely person from the very beginning. I got in touch with her a few days before arriving in Italy and had a wonderful experience with her family. It was my first Workaway experience, and I was so happy to find such a welcoming family. From the start, Gioia made me feel at home. She always invited me to join family outings, made sure I had everything I needed to eat, and was a caring host as well as a very loving mother. Lavinia is a fun, playful, and energetic child. Even though I don’t speak Italian, communication was never a problem between us. Marika is already a very independent and intelligent young girl. I even learned the song from the movie Cacciatrici di demoni K-pop thanks to you all, and ended up watching the whole movie! My room was spacious and comfortable, with a private bathroom. The location is also excellent, which allowed me to visit some nearby cities by train and enjoy the closeness to the beach. I’ll always remember the evenings at the restaurant, everyone was so friendly. It was a truly special experience that I’ll keep in my heart. ❤️

Licht ins Dunkel, Ordnung ins Chaos, Ruhe in unseren lebhaften Familienalltag – Noémi bei uns zu haben war ein grosses Geschenk. Wir können kaum in Worte fassen, wie aussergewöhnlich toll Noémi ist. Vom ersten Moment an war sie ganz da: ruhig, aufmerksam, feinfühlig und gleichzeitig voller Tatkraft. Noemi hat ein besonderes Gespür für Menschen, Situationen und das, was gerade gebraucht wird. Sie sieht, was getan werden muss, und packt an – mit Herz, Verstand und einem stillen Humor, der einfach guttut. In den rund zehn Tagen bei uns hat sie unglaublich viel bewegt: Noémi hielt unseren Haushalt mühelos in Schwung, unterstützte Roland draussen bei Projekten und nahm sich zwei grossen Aufgaben an, die wir lange vor uns hergeschoben hatten – sie entrümpelte den Estrich, sortierte alle Spielsachen neu und montierte sogar eine neue Garderobe im Eingangsbereich. Ganz selbstverständlich, mit Geduld, Präzision, und unglaublicher Ausdauer. Nebst all der Hilfe war sie auch einfach ein wunderbarer Teil unseres Alltags: Sie kochte feine Mahlzeiten, war da für die Kinder und brachte Ruhe und Entspannung in unser Zuhause. Die Gespräche mit ihr waren tief, ehrlich und nspirierend. Noémi hat uns in kurzer Zeit so viel gegeben – Struktur, Entlastung, neue Energie und ein Gefühl von Frieden. Wir sind ihr von Herzen dankbar und wünschen ihr nur das Allerbeste auf ihrem Weg. Wer Noémi bei sich aufnehmen darf, kann sich glücklich schätzen. Noémi ist eine Bereicherung in jeder Hinsicht – und bei uns wäre sie jederzeit wieder herzlich willkommen.

Will and Gloria are a truly lovely couple — kind, thoughtful, and very easy to have around. They approached everything with a positive attitude, helped with just about anything and fit in naturally with our family and rhythm of life. We especially appreciated the way they showed interest in our culture and surroundings. They are independent yet warm and sociable, which made the exchange feel effortless and enjoyable. We wish them both wonderful travels ahead and would gladly welcome them back anytime! We recommend hosting them!

Ida und Finn sind innovative, kreative, umgängliche und sehr freundliche Betreiber des Campingplatzes. Als Vorgesetzte sehr grosszügig und man fühlt sich von ihnen vorbehaltlos angenommen.
