Staying with them was an absolute nice experience. Their humor and kindness made every day feel warm and happy. They were extremely supportive and thoughtful throughout my stay, and they always respected my privacy, checking in with me before anything. Wendy was very kind and had a lot of time talking with me. She also recommended some tapas restaurants and the best gift shops. Eric was always saying funny things, while he explained what needed to be done very clearly. When I went shopping , he taught me where to go and what to look for. Isabel is adorable and full of energy. It was my first time living with a dog though, I loved how she welcomed me home every day. My tasks were gardening, cleaning the bathroom and kitchen, preparing lunch, and helping carry things. Even though they had their own work, they patiently explained everything. Every weekday, I enjoyed lunch with them, their two interns, and another Workawayer. Having the opportunity to share Japanese food culture, which was a very special experience. The place I stayed was cozy and relaxing, and I had plenty of time to explore Barcelona and enjoy my own space. Barcelona has become a very special place in my heart — all thanks to them. I truly appreciate them. I definitely want to come back!

It was great to have Maisa as part of our workaway team this summer She is a positive, honest, outgoing person, full of humor and initiative. She created a good atmosphere in the group and at our space and balanced the group so that everyone could be a part of it. Very warm and with a good energy. She threw herself into tasks with curiosity and enthusiasm, and was ready for many different things, and was also ready with suggestions for what could be done. She has helped with washing and painting windows, mowing the lawn, pick fruit, weed, cook, bake, fix bicycles, and clean. In addition, the group have done photo sessions in fancy dresses, in our rooms, gone on trips together, participated in our performances as an audience, and lived in our different houses together, and socially formed a nice community, where Maisa has been good at bringing people together. I would definitely recommend her warmly to other hosts. She creates a good and nice environment to be in.

Ida and Christina are two wonderful hosts. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. It was important to them that we felt comfortable. Although we weren't there very long, we felt like home in the cosy cabin. The working hours were agreed upon and were very fair. We responded flexibly to whatever was needed and also had enough freedom to do our own thing. The vegetable and herb garden is beautiful, and we were able to harvest, process, and enjoy the crops. We will always remember the “sauerkraut factory.” Eating together in the cozy kitchen was an integral part of the day, providing space for conversation and creating a sense of connection...and it was delicious too. We also prepared meals a few times, which was gratefully accepted. There is always a lot to do. It's best to think for yourself, see or ask where help is needed, and just pitch in. Then in the evening, you can look forward to the sauna or the outdoor bathtub under the stars in this wonderful corner of the world. Thanks Ida and Christina for this wonderful experience. We are grateful to get to know you and share a little part of life together.

Our stay with Lyn was a great experience, we learnt so much about gardening and shared lovey conversations over dinner. She communicated well about the jobs to be done and brought out teas/coffees while the weather wasn't in our favour. we enjoyed the location around the mountain, thanks very much for our stay here.

Klaudia & Lukasz were absolutely wonderful Workaway volunteers - they are extremely hard-working, full of initiative, they complete every job to a fantastic standard and are always very tidy. They are also a very friendly young couple and wonderful company to spend time with. We would have loved for them to stay longer and would be more than happy to host them again if they find themselves in Auckland again on their travels. All our best to you both on your travels and beyond and we hope to see you again :-) Tomek

I spent 4 weeks with Wangari and her wonderful family in Turi. It is the most beautiful place surrounded by rolling hills full of farmland. Wangari and her whole family are so welcoming and made me feel at home straight away (helped by very good and plentiful food). This workaway is great because you can try out the many different jobs that are involved in running a farm. And you can get really involved, meeting many great people who work on the farm in the process. Although the best part is getting to know Wangari and her family who are so kind and very caring. They taught me about their ways and traditions and I tried to learn some Kikuyu! We also went out to the local towns to explore and try some local food. Thank you so much to Samuel, Priscilla, Naomi, Miriam, Wangari, Chris, Milo, and Faith the cow for bearing with me while I learned (not so much Faith) and always being so so kind. If I am in Kenya again, I will be back. And there is always a place for you to stay in England! Asante Sana

John and Christina were my first Workaway hosts, and I couldn’t have asked for better ones! They are such friendly, kind, and generous people with an incredible lifestyle. Their farm is beautiful — surrounded by nature, with goats and chickens roaming around. Growing up on a place like that would have been a dream of mine, especially now that they run an amazing school program with outdoor educators and teachers working with kids from kindergarten to grade 9. I worked about five hours a day, mostly playing with their son Finn or helping with gardening and maintenance. Their kids are awesome, and spending time with them was a lot of fun! After work, John and Christina even let us use their truck, so we explored the area a lot. I didn’t expect to be able to travel so much while staying at a Workaway, but they even allowed us to take a weekend trip to Tofino and lent us all their gear. I’m so happy I got to meet this wonderful family — they truly made me feel welcome, and I’m grateful to have made new friends. I will definitely visit again!

I had a really great time at Elke's home. She is invaluable and friendly with her guests. The food is almost entirely grown in the organic garden, which is very healthy. Elke and her mother make very delicious, tasty meals. She also makes her own Granola. Her parents Maridet and Gerard are really nice people with a lot of experience. In Heeze, she organized a Sharing festival, where a lot of people participated, and there was a really good atmosphere. I was lucky enough to meet Stefan and John, who are great, kind-hearted people. The farm is located about 2-3 km from Someren, in a very quiet, peaceful place. There are a lot of bike routes in the area, so it is easy to cycle here. There is a direct bus from Someren to Eindhoven, which takes about 1 hour. We can still get to Eindhoven by cycling to Heeze, and from there it's a 10-minute train ride to Eindhoven Central station. Thank you again Elke, for having me here, and we'll definitely meet again in the future.

We had an amazing 4 weeks with Arthur,he was so easy to host as he seamlessly integrated with everyone around so fast. He's such quick learner and always open for the next challenge. From managing the greenhouse -(watering the seedlings, spraying ,preparing orders, weeding ,washing cocopeat ,planting ),repairing fences, fetching water, ,building a chicken house, to running errands ,,helping around the farm , helping with the dishes and cooking - we enjoyed making the chapatis & mandazis with him ,he made some yummy stews and ofcourse Arthur's signature bread -made without an oven-we are a typical Kenyan rural home. Arthur also helped around with the animals -always fed the chicken ,,Chris -the dog and Milo - the cat and occasionally grazed the sheep and cows in the evenings. Dear Arthur, thankyou for the zillion Chapatis and Mandazis ,the thousand jerricans of water you fetched, the "running around" and ofcourse dealing with everyone's (read Naomi &Chris) character here.We are forever grateful ,,Asante sana . We wish you the very best in your next adventure and career. Incase we forgot to mention,Turi is always open to have you back anytime and ooh bring Holly with you next time! Lastly, don't be a stranger! Wangari

This hostel is probably the best choice for travellers who want to party and meet new friends in Bogotá. Besides the amazing parties, the staff is so kind and welcoming. The work is also very simple. You can't miss some tasks because you get a very clear checklist . I had to do some reception tasks and some promotion, which was a lot of fun. I can highly recommend this hostel!

I stayed for one week at the beginning of the Lithuanian summer, and this was such a warm experience, where I enjoyed a beautiful homestead. During that time, we were preparing for a big Lithuanian event - "Joninės" - so it was quite an intensive week, but also funny and cozy! I did such a big variety of works from painting the garage, picking blossoms and herbs, gardening, taking care of children, and cleaning. Hosts were welcoming and especially, Kamilė was such a warm person who was willing to share her knowledge with me about herbs, traditions... Thank you for this beautiful time and definitely, I would love to come back one day!

Elsa and I thoroughly enjoyed staying in leersum and had a wonderful time with Ramira and the kids. they live in a beautiful part of the country and exploring the large wooded area behind their house was great, especially with the fall coming in the leaves and mushrooms were delightful. We shared many meals together, though there was no pressure and our living space was nice and private. Also the food was great, lots of deliscious cheeses too. The work was good, we got to help a friend of hers doing some renovations which was satisfying work and it was lovely to meet him and learn some new techniques as well as some Dutch words too. (they were all very patient with our only speaking English) All in all it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it and we are definitely planning to come back another time!

What a wonderful stay I had with Valerie and Lionel. Very friendly and hospitable people. They live a busy life with lots of things to do on their large property. I was here for two weeks and accompanied other workawayers which was great. During my stay, I fitted toilet seats, clothes rails, fixed cabinets, made a house for the resident owl and helped with the construction of a shelter for a cabin. Valerie took the timeout of her busy schedule to take me walking in the mountain villages. There is plenty to do here if you have the aptitude. A great time

m a bit late in writing this review, but here I am now. I stayed at Motaz’s hostel in June, and to this day, it’s probably the most beautiful hostel I’ve ever been to. Motaz is kind, always open and available. The work is absolutely relaxed, and gives you plenty of free time to use however you prefer. In any case, his openness always makes it possible to find a compromise. Thank you for everything, truly. It meant a lot to me, and I left a piece of my heart and soul there in Amman.

Working at Mathildes ECOlodge is like when you are introduced into a Box of a Magician.. You learn so many things, you learn to improvise with the Material which is there and you never know what is the next surprise. The surprises we expereinced were super positive ones, without parabolizing. The week we spent at her place filled our hearts with so much joy and fully calmed us down to earth. From upcycling a gate, creating a path, painting walls, taking care of the vegetable garden, learning many things about plants and their speciality, drawing signs for the botanical garden, making bracelets, being parents to baby opossums and more. Thanks for a bunch of amazing memories.

I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for Mauricio, nor could I find any reason not to recommend him as a houseguest. He is knowledgeable, calm, well-mannered, clean, communicative, helpful, thoughtful, and a whole bunch of other things; that alone would make him a great houseguest, but he also helped us move forward some of our key projects this year, and we are truly, truly grateful for that help. We would welcome Maui back anytime, and hope we get the chance to repay the generosity of his sharing his knowledge and skills with us.
