My time at Ronalds place was wonderful! Ronald and Chantal were really sweet and welcoming and I immediately felt at home. I loved caring for the horses and the cats and especially for the new kitten they got. I had lots of free time and I was able to explore the neighbourhood with a bike. At the time we were two workawayers so that was also really fun!

I stayed for two weeks and had a very special time filled with endless dog kisses, cuddles, and puppy eyes. Moreover, I had the opportunity to observe two leg amputations, sterilizations, and other difficult operations, which the doctor performed very efficiently and effectively. Every question I had was patiently answered and explained. Therefore, I not only had the chance to give and receive love from the lovely dogs but also to truly learn something! One of the highlights was also the dogs at the volunteer houses, who loved treats and cuddles, as well as their daily walks in the wheelchair. But the cherry on top was truly seeing the birth of new puppies and choosing their names, which Carl always encourages the volunteers to do. So, if you’re a dog lover who also wants to see some medically interesting cases, I would highly recommend volunteering at the foundation!

A really beautiful, interesting (and interested) family. They are communicative, flexible, understanding and easy-going people with whom I enjoyed the little time we had together, especially I loved the songs before eating and the stories about their travel. Their little boy, Roan's passionate energy for interaction was something that inspired me to prepare more games for next time I have children coming by.

What a lovely place and great host! House, fields, nature, villages and beaches offer so much peace. In April, we worked at Phaedra for a few weeks. During our first days we were immersed into her warm Greek family at Easter celebrations. Phaedra clearly indicated what work we had to do and left enough room to fill in the way we did it ourselves. She is always open to new ideas. Phaedra has a lot of knowledge about regenerative agriculture and she clearly knows where she wants to go with her project. She has her project firmly and thoughtfully in hand. She makes her project, objectives and assignments clear in a casual way. There is always an open atmosphere in which decisions are made together about the necessary works. Every morning there is a short meeting for the day. Phaedra is optimistic, smiley, sweet and grateful. We will definitely be back! Well, that's what we did this summer! It was a real pleasure and joy to have been able to participate in this fantastic project. Our son felt at home in this warm family. P.S. phaedra does the dishes in the only right way!

A classic case of what you put forth, you shall receive. If you want experience with dogs and to genuinely feel like you made a difference then look no further. Expect to be exhausted if you're the only volunteer, and work more than you expect, but ultimately it's all worth it due to Natsuko and her generosity of teaching and ensuring all your needs are taken care. And then there is the dogs. Oh how I wish I could adopt Woofy and Mikey. All the dogs taught me something, lessons that shall live with me for a long time. Natsuko very much follows the Cesar Milan methodology which is exactly what I was seeking. Thank you Natsuko for your own patience to continue teaching me even while I couldn't remember simple details like who's harness was who's!!!! The area of Bangkok is lovely and only a cheap Grab motorbike to the nearest Metro. There's legit and well priced massages palors just minutes away and a 7/11 too so you never really want for nothing! Highly recommend this stay if you love dogs and are willing to learn and work hard!

Where to I begin! The 2 weeks I spent with Olivia were regenerating, invigorating, and very peaceful... all at once. She is wise and thoughtful, open to any questions you may have, and extremely welcoming to anyone who wants to experience her way of life. It was inspiring to help Olivia with all of her daily chores, and big projects as well, from planting seeds and watering them daily, to learning how to build micro dams and working with a large team of her friends to build a few down in her stream! This workaway is perfect for anyone who wants to be not only surrounded by nature and good vibes, but contribute their energy to a beatiful property and bring any skills they may have to an open and safe space. Efcharisto to Olivia, and her cats Mallo, Morpheius, Neraida, Misty, Rosea, Niks, and Baste. Love to you all!

Suzi is a total sweetheart. She has the calmest, most soothing energy and the kindest heart. She came to our place at an unfortunate time when we had all just been sick with covid and were having a rough recovery but she was always, thoughtful, caring and unperturbed by any chaos. She's eager to learn and happy to try her hand at new skills. We'd happily recommend her to other hosts

Conor and Alina were a joy to host. They're super fun, eager to learn, great communicators and inspiring adventurers. They helped out with many things including digging (so many rocks!) a syntropic garden bed (which is now full of thriving peach trees and support species), cutting and splitting a mountain of firewood (Conor has a real talent for splitting wood) and cooking delicious meals. We loved sharing our lives with them for the time they were with us and would happily recommend them as guests and volunteers

I spent 3 weeks at this hostel and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway. Even though the hostel had been closed for a month and it was quiet when I arrived, it felt like home so fast. The reception work is super easy and you get 4 days off, which gives you plenty of time to explore and chill. Lucky, the host, is super friendly, chill and always there to help. I’m really sad to leave and I wish I could stay longer! Thank you so much for these amazing 3 weeks, wish you all the best!

First of all a huge but really huge Thank You! to Fleur,Ana and Jojo for taking an interest in me although I didnt have any feedback yet as I had joined the Platform only in August, while I had been shown no consideration at all by so many of other Hosts. A Social,Dinamic,Progressive family who will to make you feel at ease encouraging you to get to know them and spend quality time together, whereas a day out in Colone or an interesting after dinner conversation or others activities. They were genuenly appreciative and praising of the help I was providing fuelling even more my already high motivation. It was a joy to see how loving and attentive are with their lovely kids Jordi,Emma and Adi who I wish I could have been more proactive with, sooner, but at the beginning I felt I needed to focus more on the "job". Freshly cooked Vegan food was tasty and plentiful, the property ,with a beautiful green space, is located in oasis of tranquility and silence. I have perceived them as being great ambassadors of the Work Away community and spirit, they inspired and helped me to continue in my W A journey. A very happy 1th experience! a big and warm hug F o l k s !

Staying at Manfred’s shelter was an absolutely fantastic experience.
The very first moments after entering the house felt magical, with kangaroos bouncing around and even lounging on the couch! I felt welcome right from the start, and within a few days, I truly felt like part of a big family. We took turns cooking, and our shared dinners were always delicious and very fun. I also met some incredible people at the shelter and even made a lifelong friend. A typical day involves feeding joeys, cleaning enclosures, preparing milk, washing bottles, and hanging or folding kangaroo laundry. It’s hands-on work, but deeply rewarding. The wildlife around the property is also amazing with wombats, possums, wallabies, cockatoos, and many more roaming the grounds. Manfred took us on walks through his forest, showing us wombat burrows and the local wildlife. I was also lucky enough to join Manfred on a rescue mission. It was challenging and emotional, but also an incredibly valuable experience. Spending time with the kangaroos brought me so much joy, they’re all so unique and full of personality. One of my best memories is lying by the fire on quiet afternoons, with little Pecker resting his head on me. Manfred himself is an extraordinary person, kind, patient, and absolutely devoted to his kangaroos. He doesn’t hesitate to stay up for hours caring for a newly orphaned joey. I would do this experience again a thousand times. In fact, I’ve already come back once and plan to return again soon. Manfred, you can already start buying the ingredients for more banana bread! If you’re hardworking and love animals, you’ll undoubtedly have an unforgettable time here.

I had a fantastic week staying with Mike (and Billy!) - would highly recommend to anyone interested in landcare and restoring native vegetation, especially if you're willing to get stuck in to some more effort intensive tasks! I learned a lot from the experience and also got the opportunity to explore some more of the Northland region, including the beautiful hills out at Whangarei Heads. It was also great to spend time with and work alongside two other workawayers. Mike's cooking was fantastic and caters to a vegetarian diet if that's your preference. He is also very happy to give advice and tips for further travels around New Zealand which is much appreciated. Overall I had a great time staying here and would highly recommend. Thank you Mike for the opportunity! And to Billy for being a very good boy (even if he does like to go in the creek)

We very much enjoyed having Ramon at our place. He was a very calm, well grounded, polite and pleasant guest. He helped us with a large variety of different tasks and no matter how big or small, he did them all with the same enthusiasm and diligence. He worked well with minimal instructions and thanks to his technical background he was even able to fix my small excavator. We had many interesting conversations about a variety of subjects and Ramon generously shared his insights. We very much enjoyed and appreciated his stay here with us and we wish him all the best for his future! Chris & Ama

Floriane is such a wonderful person. We absolutely loved her and happily welcome her back here anytime in the future to stay as a friend . I would love to visit her on France (or anywhere in the world) one day. As a workaway, Florian happily fulfilled all tasks with care and attention to detail, even if she had never done it before. As a person, she is strong, independent and inspiring. Floriane has an amazing outlook on life and she inspired me in some way everyday she was here.

It's been an absolute pleasure to host Sammy for the week. She's incredibly positive, hard-working and a very capable young woman. Over the time she was with us she did a huge clean up of our bush block - whipper snippering weeds, loading building rubbish into a skip bin and clearing the fire break for Summer. Sammy's energetic and outcomes focused, always wanting to see a job through to completion. She's physically strong and ready to tackle any task. At a personal level Sammy is a joy to be around, chipping in at every opportunity. That said she is independent and was happy to get out and about in her own vehicle to explore the wonderful surfing beaches of the South West. Thanks for your fantastic efforts Sammy and all the best for your next adventure.

Anna from Japan was with us for 2 weeks in October 2025. It was such a pleasure to Host her. She was happy to give everything a go. Anna took care of the chickens and got to see some eggs hatch. She helped drench the sheep, fed our two pet lambs, did weeding in the veggie garden and groomed some of our Highland Cattle. She was wonderful at re organising my kitchen and wash house cupboards. At our other lifestyle block, Anna cleaned the deck and did weed eating (with the scrub cutter machine). Every morning ( it was the first duty) Anna was out there with Martin checking on the possum traps, with great success, - 5 possums later! Anna is so friendly, cheerful, tidy, punctual and so helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending Anna to any Host.

We stayed with Sana and her granddaughter for a week and had a great time. She is easy going and very talkative. She was very generous with food and sharing her culture. The work was quite nice, not too hard and the days weren't too long either and Sana gave clear instructions on how to do it which is nice when you don't have a lot of experience. We would 100 % recommend this place to other workawayers.
