Tony and Shelley are unbelivable! They stayed with us for three weeks and turned the garden upside down. Also the barn and shed have been cleaned and tidying up, the silo disassembled. They often worked the whole day. It was very interesting to share experiences about farming. They are very kind and courteous people and we felt very comfortable with them. We laughed a lot together. We miss them!

I spent two weeks in this beautiful paradise and I absolutely loved every single minute. I had zero experience and knowledge about permaculture but Emma and Michael were very patient and showed me how to do things. Even though I didn't spend much time with the kids, they are really sweet and I was so impressed by Fred's creativity! The accommodations are pretty comfy (I stayed both in the tent and the little house) and the kitchen is perfectly equipped. Even though the place is surrounded by nature I was never really alone, I met some people who lived by the beach, spent some time with another workawayer and shared meals with this beautiful family. This is the perfect place if you love being surrounded by nature and take a break from everything so I highly recommend it! Thank you so much for everything🫶🏻

I was with Silvio for almost three months this past summer. Nothing I’m able to write will be able to describe how amazing of a person he is and how incredible an experience I had. Silvio is the most caring, kind, and funny host. He is an incredible cook and baker and is very open minded. He leads a very healthy lifestyle, but is very easily convinced to have a gelato. Silvio loves animals, being active, and seeing beauty in everything. He goes to Mondello, one of the most beautiful beaches, every morning to swim and guests are always welcome. Silvio’s mother also lives on the property as well as his ex-wife and son, but in a different house. While I was there, his daughter, Silvia, was also visiting so we spent a lot of time together. She’s just as lovely as Silvio and I’m very appreciative of her friendship. Silvio’s mother is incredibly kind and also very talented at cooking. Overall, just some of the best people to be around. The work was very very manageable. It was mostly gardening, and some woodworking. If there were ever any tasks workawayers preferred not to do/didn’t feel comfortable doing, he would just suggest something else with no issue at all. The house is lovely, comfortable, and clean. The house is about a ten minute walk from the train station which you can take into the center of the city in 15-30 minutes depending on the stop. There are also buses that are very frequent. There are two grocery stores just a couple minutes walk away as well. If you’re able to walk about 30 minutes, you can easily get to another beach. I cannot recommend this workaway, or Silvio more. It was very very difficult to leave and I absolutely intend to return at some point.

We stayed one month on the farm and had a great experience there. Upon arrival we got a warm welcome and felt part of the farm and the family. Every morning we looked after the sheep and moved them to a different part of pasture. After that we cut some grass for the bunnies. Than for the rest of the day we got a daily task (getting wood from the forest, cut the wood, replace broken fence posts, harvest mushrooms, work in the vegetable garden, processing wool, making compost, ...). Arthur provided us with a lot of theoretic and practical information about holistic grazing, farm management and increasing biodiversity in the forest. He took his time to explain things and made sure we were alright and could handle the work. We recommend staying with Arthur and Carla on the farm!

Helena came to our farm and she helped us a lot with our Big garden. She is very lovely girl, always very calm and respectful, always wanting to help us in all, she really prepared, fertilized and plant many trees here! Beautiful energy and soul. Wish all the best, hugs!

Lukas came for a week to our farm and he was amazing. Very respecful, positive, friendly, incredible how hard he helped us with the garden. He IS very active and walked all the sorroundings jeje Buen camino hermano!

I was only able to stay with Aine a few days, but it was an excellent experience nonetheless. I enjoyed every moment of our time together, from walks and hot bevies in the morning, to lunch in, and dinner out together. I felt the work was flexible, and more than reasonable, and I was happy to help. We stay in touch, and I hope to return one day.

I had a great time in Jericó with Camilo and my fellow workawayer Alexis! After having been travelling for a week in very busy parts of Colombia and running around cities, doing a 2-week volunteering at Camilo's hostel was exactly what I needed to slow down and better take in Colombia's culture. Jericó is a beautiful, welcoming town, with a lot of beautiful places in the countryside around it. You can easily get to Jardín from there (another beautiful town, very close to the famous Eje Cafetero), the people are extremely kind and the food is amazing. The work at the hostel isn't too complicated, it usually takes 3 hours of your day (1.5h in the early morning and another 1.5h after lunch) and the rest of the days are to yourself. You will often connect with the people staying at the hostel and going on hikes with them and/or with Camilo and Paizu (his lovely dog)! Overall, I had an amazing experience staying there and I would highly recommend that give it a try as well! Thank you, Camilo, for being such a nice host and an amazing person, I wish you and Paizu all the best! :)

Ane did such an amazing job during her time with us! From helping in the kitchen and teaching painting to making creative donation boxes she gave her best in everything. We really loved her energy and the way she supported us in raising funds for the computer project. Ane worked with full dedication and brought such positive vibes to the centre. It was truly great having you with us, Ane you did a really good job! Keep shining and stay connected with the family.

This was our first Workaway experience, and we couldn’t have wished for a better one than with Cynthia and John. We received a warm welcome to their beautiful home, farm, and animals. It was a great mix of farm work (fixing fences, feeding animals, gardening), interesting conversations with Cynthia and John over several tea/coffee breaks, delicious lunches and dinners (she is a star in the kitchen!), and free time to go for walks, visit Australia Zoo, and enjoy the nearby beach. John explained the farm tasks very patiently, and we thoroughly enjoyed helping out and working together outdoors. Dear Cynthia and John, thank you for trusting us with your house and animals while we were house-sitting, for teaching us about your daily farm tasks, and for your lovely hospitality. We felt at home from the very first moment! We miss you, and we will definitely visit you again if we come back to Australia. We are also looking forward to hosting you here in Germany during your world trip visiting all your Workaway friends :)

I stayed with John and Joyce for a whole 1 month last June, and it was not something very special andI would not regret. Staying with them help me to understand local culture, opportunity to document stories that not many would understand their struggles. Having PWD children, with Kenya political and unemployment crisis, would make you empathize how this NGO serve crucial development for their community and psychosocial well-being. We still working long term with my creative website design friend to help with the organisation where we can, and we still keep contact with the family and other members of NGO. You will able to have ample time to explore other places in Kenya , most of time I explore with them as they really excited to see foreigners coming to visit them . Otherwise, Kenya will make you see the world differently but with the help of community of John and Joyce kindness, you will able to explore the country in great lengths! Hopefully to mee them again one day when the time is right and the flight doesn't cost too much from me especially coming from Asian side.

Where do I begin? My husband and I just stayed with Mylene and Jean Paul for 10 days on their beautiful property. This was our first time doing a work trade, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. We did miscellaneous tasks on the farm, like gathering firewood, picking hazelnuts, and working in the vineyard. All of the tasks were enjoyable, and we never worked more than the requested 4 hours/day. In fact, we often had to ask them to work more! The accommodation and meals were amazing. Mylene is a fabulous cook, and you'll certainly leave with a few new French recipes! They mostly cook with local ingredients and make/grow a lot of their food (and wine!) themselves. On the weekends, they took us to hike in the mountains, visit their family, and explore the area. This workaway is a perfect way to practice your French and get an authentic glimpse of life in the French countryside. The best part of this experience was the hospitality and warmth from Mylene and Jean Paul. We'll never forget the meals and laughs shared together!

I had a great experience during this volunteer! I stayed for three weeks helping with activities on the farm for about 2 to 3 hours a day. The work was very enjoyable and not difficult, even though I didn’t have any previous experience, because everything was explained to me in detail. The house is very comfortable, I had my own room with a locker, all meals included, and good internet. They welcomed me as part of the family, and I’m very grateful! Sophia, Casper, and Anabelle are the sweetest, smartest, and kindest kids I’ve ever met. It was a pleasure spending time with them, exchanging languages, and playing board games in the afternoons. Dick and Iza are amazing people. We had lots of great conversations; they told me about their culture, and I truly enjoyed their company. I left very happy with the experience and hope to come back soon!

Caroline was such a lovely addition to our farmily. She made herself at home right away and got into the groove of the farm. She was flexible and willing with the work and cooked up some delicious feasts for us. Great sense of humour and a fun energy added to the mix. Thanks for the special times and all the hard work, Caroline :)

I had a very pleasant stay on this volunteer project. I stayed for almost a month, and it was a pleasure helping Marina and Viktor with the hostel. They were both very friendly from the start and were everything you'd expect from Workaway hosts. I want to emphasize that this was the nicest hostel I've ever been to on my entire trip and it's very welcoming. Although I arrived during the off-season, we had many guests; it's always a nice experience to chat with other travelers. It was also a pleasure to have another volunteer with whom we got along very well. We did maintenance work with him, and we did checks in and out. In our free time, we took turns visiting other places in Skopje, a charming city.

It was a pleasure hosting Marcel (he was here alone, but usually travel with his girlfriend). He is easy to be around, communicates well, learns quickly, is self going and always both willing and pro active when new skills are needed. He is also a great cook, and I really enjoyed our meals together. We had lots of fun working side by side building fences, and I would be happy to host him (and Miriam) again.

This place is great. The manager is really nice and the staff are amazing too. It is well managed and the work is fair and the right amount. You can really enjoy Puerto Vallarta here.

I spent a week with Sandra and really enjoyed it. The tasks were clearly defined and not difficult. I also had the weekend off. I mainly worked in the garden and did small jobs around the house. Sandra is very hospitable, friendly and a great cook. We also had some really good conversations and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I can highly recommend Sandra as a host. Thank you for everything.
