Staying with William, Laura and the kids was an amazing time I would recommend to anyone hoping to reconnect with nature and themselves. We almost always had the option to socialize and talk philosophy if we wanted, while also being able to find solitude down by the creek or in the neighbor's grape fields if we needed quieter moments. Everyone here was a great personality to get to know, and I was thoroughly charmed by the breadth of life experience from all present. Not to mention the love they all share and extend to their guests :,)

My apologies for my late feedback to Jay. I spent 15 days in his warm little house in Teotitlán del Valle, a charming town like Jay, a very kind, caring, and gentlemanly person. Jay, I wish you the best in the world. When I return to Teotitlán, I'll let you know so I can come see you and walk around this town full of culture and magic again. In the meantime, take care of yourself. It was a pleasure meeting you. You are a great friend and always will be. Thank you so much for everything. A big hug, and I wish you the best in the world. Tell your children to always come see you. Mila :)

My time at this place was so cool! Meghann and Ryan are really friendly and I learned so much new stuff during my stay. Mostly me and the other workawayer did firewood and prepared the property for winter. During my days off I spent much time hiking and going to the national park. Also Meghann and Ryan took me and the other workawayer on a rafting tour one day which was really cool. The last day Ryan even took us on a shooting ranch! All in all I think grew so much and got so many new impressions. I hope I can visit Meghann, Ryan, Benji and Margaret again one day!

I stayed with them for three weeks in August this summer. It was my first workaway experience, so I was very nervous, but I have to say that thanks to all the volunteers and the wonderful people who work at the stables, they made me feel at home. The town of Milton Keynes where I stayed is quiet and perfect for getting around England by train or bus. In just three weeks, with every Saturday and Sunday free, I managed to see London, Cambridge, and Oxford, and all the wonderful parks and green spaces of Milton Keynes. The work is tiring, yes, but truly very rewarding. They teach you everything there, they are welcoming and good, and they helped me a lot with my English—great emotional and loving support. Thank you for the wonderful experience you gave me. Best regards, Lavinia, from Italy.❤️

........................................................................ It's been a pleasure volunteering at this place. I was there for a month, and during that month, I learned a lot. That's because Allan organized the time for us to do something different every day, so I was never bored. The volunteer house has some basic foods like flour and sugar, and I really enjoyed experimenting with making dishes from scratch. There isn't much to do in the neighborhood, so I didn't mind taking the time to do so. I also needed to buy some things like vegetables and protein sources to have more diversity in my diet. It's over an hour's walk to the nearest supermarket, so it would be nice to have a bike at the farm. Another thing I would change would be to remove the camera from the common area of the volunteer house. I guess it's for safety, but I felt a little uncomfortable and observed by the camera. The atmosphere with the other volunteers was very pleasant, and I'm grateful for the pleasant moments we shared with the other volunteers, Allan, his partner, and her daughter. Thanks for everything, and see you next time!

Rhonda is an excellent host! I stayed for a month along with my dog, and we both enjoyed every bit of our time at Rhonda's. She provides an excellent Workaway experience, and the home itself was a wonderful, peaceful place, and I felt welcome immediately. The accommodations are private and very comfortable, and Rhonda does a great job of making sure you have what you need, from bandaids to food, and is extremely helpful in making sure you feel at home. The "work" wasn't always easy (mainly due to the heat), but it was enjoyable and I loved getting to spend time with the other Workaways. It consisted of gardening, yard maintenance, animal care, and light cleaning and cooking. Rhonda is not a "micro-manager," and trusts you to ask questions if anything gets in the way of a job well done. Everyone I met at Rhonda's was a delight to know, really had a great time.

Sara! Wow, what an interesting human being, her kindness and willingness to participate in the project was outstanding. She embrace so vividly the culture of our home, making our family more brighter and joyful. Sara is one of the best experience and beloved friends we can encounter in our journey, a soul sister knocking to the door, improving our reality and activities. We highly recommend to host this wonderful individual, she is humble, very smart, powerful and knowledgeable with high emotional intelligence, full of love. We are blessed that she decided to join our project and living all together under the same roof for three months, wow! We are so delighted about her presence, her commitment and hard work, she made our garden greener than ever, well maintained and decorated our walls with her beautiful art. A resourceful, caring soul with a pure heart. Even the caterpillars of our garden are missing her, and this place will always be her home. If you’re lucky enough to cross paths with her, don’t hesitate, call her now! Her energy, hard work and positivity will improve your life!

I stayed with Catherine for two weeks and it was my first Workaway experience. Catherine is a inspiring person, with lots of travel stories and great knowledge about permaculture. I learned a lot about living close to nature and how to make the most out of simple resources. I mainly did some garden prep for winter, some fire prevention, and other small projects. Sometimes a bit tiring, but Catherine always made sure to change things up, which was nice. Her dogs and the donkey made me feel right at home, and the food was delicious and I will not forget those cookies. It’s a remote and peaceful place, perfect if you enjoy nature and a simple lifestyle. Thanks, Catherine, for the lovely time and for sharing your way of living!

Good fortune smiled when I visited the family farm. I was welcomed immediately and made to feel at home and was quickly comfortable. The tasks were to feed, clean and care for the various animals, complete whatever else was necessary and share in the household chores. Simple and satisfying work. It felt a privilege to respect and care for the animals, the land and the hosts. I had good company from two other volunteers. Wishing you both all the best on your travels. Overall, it was a bright, warm experience with opportunities to learn and adapt to the host's rhythm. Thank you to Ole and Olga for welcoming me into your lives. I hope to return and can only recommend that good people visit.

I recently had a few days working with Celi. And what a great experience it was! Celi is wonderful company - friendly, intelligent and great sense of humour. And as for the food - would put a 5 star Michillin restaurant to shame. I cannot wait to return..

This was our first Workaway experience so we didn't know what to expect, but if every Workaway is like the one we did at Tom and Elena's then we have been missing out. We were at their place from October 12-23, 2025. His property is absolutely stunning this time of year, over the duration of our stay we really enjoyed watching all the leaves change colors from our view of the valley from his terrace. Tom's Workaway is basically exactly as he describes in his profile. We worked Monday-Friday, 9AM-2PM. Our tasks varied, but the expectations and plan for the day was always laid out by Tom either the night before or the morning of. We found the work to be rewarding, and Tom is very diligent about answering questions during the workday to keep everyone on track. He is an extremely organized person who is also an honest and clear communicator which we definitely appreciated about him. But mostly, he is also easy-going, friendly, and welcoming. He made our stay a breeze despite the fact we didn't have a car. Every meal during our stay was delicious, but dinner at Tom's every night is special. His profile says he is a good cook, and he IS a good cook. He also cares about what he serves and the effort that he makes for presentation and using good ingredients with very little waste is inspiring. We enjoyed our conversations over dinner about travel, food, family and life. Outside of work we enjoyed hiking around in the local area, the beers at Brasserie in Foix and at Gite d'Etape in Roquefixade, and reading/doing yoga at the various peaceful places on their property. Tom and Elena are both amazingly interesting, smart, creative, and warm people and we are so happy to have made new friends with them. Tom told us they only do their Workaway's twice a year, so if you have the opportunity to visit Roquefixade and stay with Tom and Elena (and their twins by then!!), you should take it. 10/10 would recommend 🤙 All our best, Harry & Julie

This was my very first Workaway experience, so I was filled with both curiosity and uncertainty, but I was incredibly lucky that Pat was the first person I got to help. I’m deeply grateful for my stay at her place. At the time, I wasn’t feeling my best emotionally, but Pat always understood and supported me without pressure. I truly appreciated her kindness and patience. The tasks were always fun and interesting, and I learned so much about fieldwork and life in the countryside. The landscape is beautiful, peaceful, and full of life, a perfect place for anyone seeking calm and connection with nature in rural France. Her pets are absolutely lovely, I spent many happy moments playing with the dogs or napping with a cat nearby. I’m also very thankful for the delicious meals Pat prepared with so much care; it was a real privilege to enjoy dishes from different parts of the world every day. Pat herself is a wonderful, calm, and open-hearted person. We had many great conversations in the afternoons and shared really nice moments together. I don’t think I have enough words to express my gratitude for this experience. I truly hope I can help her again someday, it would be an honor. I wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway to anyone who wants to enjoy peace, good company, and meaningful work in a beautiful part of France.

Cuneyt was a tidy and conscientious worker. Being well educated - I think the lack of cultural services in our deep rural area was a little testing for him as he most definitely thrives on film, poetry, media and similar artistic modes which is pretty much non-existent in this part of the world! Hopefully his future host locations will be more fulfilling for him.

This was Vicente's first workaway experience - and he threw himself into the ethos of workaway very quickly. As a logical thinker and with proactive attitude he quickly adapted to the tasks set and was happy to try-out new ideas. A clean and conscientious worker with thoughts for others. Though young he has a mature and open mind - so we engaged in some good conversations on a multitude of subjects. I highly recommend him if he is heading your way!

This one week has become an unforgettable and truly wonderful memory for me🤩 I was in a difficult situation because my original Workaway host stopped replying, but Stefan responded very quickly and kindly offered to host me, even though it was only for a short week. Stefan is a kind and experienced person who taught me not only about Swedish history and culture, but also about gardening and practical work. Even though I came as a Workawayer, I learned so many valuable things from him. Zeldda, the dog who is always with him, is very smart and gentle. If you stay longer, you might also get to meet not only his lovely family but also friends and neighbors - all of them are so warm and welcoming. Even though I couldn’t speak Swedish, they made my stay very fun and comfortable until the very end. Stefan can be too kind sometimes, so you might find yourself with plenty of free time! Please support him as much as you can — and try not to cause as much trouble as I did. 😂

The academy - Volunteer Experience Reflection The academy is a truly beautiful space for cultural and emotional exchange. I felt very comfortable there, surrounded by a wonderful landscape and kind-hearted people. The facilities are incredible — both the areas for volunteers and the workspaces are well designed and inspiring. The workdays were pleasant and enjoyable. It’s important to keep in mind that, when working with people with disabilities, there can sometimes be challenging or emotionally sensitive situations. Fortunately, the team supporting the project is always present and ready to help with any situation, so you can rely on them with confidence. The work is well organized and clearly structured, with adequate rest times. The free day is perfect for exploring Cappadocia — a truly magical place. Since there is only one day off per week, you can also make the most of the time before or after work to go hiking and get to know the region better. Than you so much to Esma, Seyda, Fatma, and Nevsy for their warmth, hospitality, and for keeping such a beautiful project alive. I truly enjoyed sharing this experience with you, and I would definitely love to volunteer there again in the future. Thank you for everything — I hope to see you again soon! 🌿

Dear Kathi and Thomas, Thank you so much for three ( ) magical weeks at your beautiful property in Slovenia. It's such an idyllic place and i feel grateful for having experienced this way of living; simple and close to nature, producing your own food and even renovating a house with clay only 50m away. The work was really diverse and interesting. Me and Kathi were mostly alone in the weekdays and did a lot of work in the garden and on the fields, harvesting the last vegetables, removing sticks, weeds and dead plants, planting garlic and cooking really delicious food, i had to write down all the recipes. And when Thomas was at home, he showed me the whole process of collecting the clay and making the mixture that we used in the house, which i also go to try out! And i must say i enjoyed the simple facilities. A hot and comfortable shower couldn't replace the feeling of warming yourself up by the stove after a cold shower surrounded by forests, birds, fresh air and the occasional moo of a cow.. And your house - yes it's a work in progress, but i see the vision and i know your home will turn out amazing. This i can know for sure after seeing the inside of your van Funky as well as your self-made jewelry. That's not to say the "construction site" did not already feel like a home. Kathi did a great job of keeping the house clean (with four cats not cooperating on the project) and the atmosphere was always cozy with the smell of delicious food or burning candles and the sound of radio salzkammergut, joik or 90s hiphop playing in the background. The days had a nice and easy flow, and the evenings were often spent playing board games, working on creative projects or watching tv shows/movies, as well as eating lots of cake. I truly felt at home and it was with a heavy heart i left this place and said goodbye (for now) to you guys. Wish you and your four strange, yet lovable, cats the very best!! Frida
