Merci beaucoup.

Lupe was such a lovely volunteer! She brought her warm Argentinian charm and a big smile every day. Always kind, helpful, and great with guests, she made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. Super responsible, easy to communicate with, and a real positive presence in the hostel. We’re so happy she joined us, gracias Lupe, you’ll always have a home here! 💛

Thank you so much for your lovely message! Your words are so perfect that we might use them for our own promotion lol. Annie has such a bright personality, great stamina, and always gives her best in everything, so it was a big help for us in many situations. She’s also fluent in Japanese and well-understands the humor that’s unique to Japanese people, so she made many many friends here. Some local persons even said they wanted to create a job for her so that she could live in Shimane someday! What makes us happiest is that she connected with so many people and came to love Oda city. She truly immersed herself in life here and had become just like one of the locals. Hope we can work together again someday to bring more energy to our community. You’re always welcome back! We had a very good experience hosting Adrien and Alisha. Although they were quite new to the gardening gig, they were eager to learn and after a few days, they were able to immerge themselves into the permaculture world. They were a great help preparing for the summer season. Thanks for Adrien and Alisha, we were able to catch up on a few things such as setting up our pumpkin patch and our cabbage beds on time- both of which were amazing successes this year! Thanks guys!

My friend and I stayed here for two amazing weeks, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences ever! 🌞 The place is surrounded by nature, with peaceful vibes, sea views, and beautiful sunsets 🌅. Marco and the team are super kind, open-minded, and full of good energy they made us feel at home from day one 💫. The work was super flexible and enjoyable, with plenty of time to relax and explore 🌿✨. We learned a lot, helped in the garden 🌱, shared delicious meals 🥗, and had deep conversations under the stars ✨. If you’re looking for a meaningful, fun, and unforgettable experience in Türkiye, we totally recommend this place 🙌🏽💚

I volunteered here for four weeks, during which time Tracy, my host, was extremely accomodating and invaluable in helping me sort out a myriad of issues that I had to deal with in Italy. I was able to make all sorts of contacts through her who were then able to get the various odd things that I required for my travelling. There is a lot to do for workaway guests here and, like some other workaways, they should be done in a certain precise way. Follow the guidelines given, respect all the ways of life here and this becomes a truly valuable work exchange. Tracy has a lifetime of diverse experience and loves to share her knowledge in many different fields. She was always offering to take me sightseeing, as she has with other volunteers. Instead Tracy was able to help me a great deal with my other priorities, from practical matters such as van tyres to mental soul-searching. We all ate meals together, which were generous, varied and balanced. I would recommend this workaway and host to volunteers with an open mind, who appreciate a more simple life and who have a curiosity to learn about ways of thinking beyond their own.

Asha and Lilly were both amazing Workawayers and amazing people. We had a great two weeks together. Not only were they a lot of help on the farm, but they were also a pleasure to share meals, conversations and laughs with. They are very positive, hard working, eager to learn and always ready to tackle the tasks at hand. We can't recommend Asha and Lilly enough to future hosts!

I had a great experience in Lombok and am so grateful to have gotten to learn about the beautiful island through this organization! I met some really lovely people, ate delicious food, went on adventures, experienced the local culture, and worked with amazing children teaching english while also learning bahasa. When I first arrived things felt disorganized but eventually everything flowed together. For example when we wanted to move to a more private homestay we were accommodated quickly! Grateful for this experience and hope to be back. If you are looking for a cultural immersion and social experience, I 00% recommend! Feel free to reach out on workaway with questions (: Thanks to everyone at Lovin' Lombok!! <3

Thank you so much for everything! Mr Sophan is the best director and chef in Cambodia. He is so friendly polite respectful and helpful with everything. Because I am vegan he cooked vegan food for me, very delicious. He helps with everything he can, easy person to talk with, and smiley and friendly always. He works really hard with the school cooking teaching and everything. I am so happy he accepted me and after 3 others volunteers that I’ve met in a different school with bad conditions, so all of us we came here. I was so happy with the room the food the environment, with the class and the students. I had different level of classes in morning afternoon and evening with breaks between. It was my first experience as a teacher, before, I had experience in kids clubs in hotels, so I’m happy and I learned a lot from this experience. I definitely recommend this place, and I’ll love to visit one day, to come back here. Namaste! 🙏🏼

It was really nice to stay with Sadhu and his Family. He is a very respectful and good Host and he gave us a lot of creative freedom for our tasks. We created some Social Media Content for his Accommodations and the surrounding areas. It was a fun experience and I would recommend Travelers to go!

Dani is an exceptional person. He is kind, considerate, intelligent and a lovely warmth about his personality. He helped us for three weeks, and was a great person to share our space with. He did a lot of work in the garden, clearing, digging, building new garden beds, pruning, tidying, and so much more. He is thorough with his work, ensuring everything is done well. He's very reliable, intuitive and really was a huge help. We are so glad that he came to stay with us. I can highly recommend Dani as a workawayer and as a friend. Oh, and he was great with the animals, was extremely tidy and can cook some lovely Spanish dishes!

Had seven unforgettable weeks with Frank, his family and friends and the team in Lilongwe. The NGO is locally based in Lilongwe but the projects range all over the country. I was able to join the team on three on site visits in the northern part of Malawi, including the stunningly beautiful Livingstonia. The team help local communities develop their skills in area such as governance, marketing, finance and other business skills. These skills are then passed on through the community which helps grow knowledge. The other part of the NGO is helping communities with funding for assets like school buildings, medical clinics, housing for teachers as well as other projects such as sourcing mattresses so girls can have something to sleep on at secondary school. In the office I helped develop their financial systems (I am an accountant). The team was great to work with and willingly shared their knowledge both of the NGO and their country. I lived with Frank and Susan in a lovely large house in Area 38 which is on the outskirts of Lilongwe on the road to Blantyre. They had one daughter at home along with two nieces. Their other two children were at high school (college) and University and I met them too. I had an ensuite bedroom which was comfortable and airy. I was treated as a valued and loved member of the wider family from day one. Food was different to what I would eat in New Zealand but nevertheless both tasty and nutritious. I also learnt some useful recipes that I am using now I am home. I met many other family members from all over Malawi as well as local friends of the family. They all made me so welcome. At weekends we went traveling to see more of the region, the highlight was going to the Chongoni Rock Art area south of Lilongwe. Malawi is a great place to visit but be prepared to accept that it is much poorer than many other tourist spots in Africa. The roads in general are pretty bad and I decided I wasn't up to driving here which limited some of my opportunities to get around. But there are buses that travel between the main areas and taxis. I would recommend Nkhata Bay in the north on the lake shore (I stayed at Butterfly Space - great food and coffee). There I went kayaking and swimming as well as just relaxing by the lake. I can truly recommend this project. I will forever remember my time in Malawi. Thank you Frank, Susan and all the other people who made my time so special.

Tereza was an absolute pleasure to have with us! She brought such creativity and positivity to everything she did. She painted the most beautiful scenery for our projects — full of colour, detail, and imagination — and worked with great care and enthusiasm. Always polite, friendly, and hardworking, she was a joy to have around, and we’d love to welcome her back anytime!
