Hello WorkAwayers, I would like to recommend staying at Rory and Ashleys. If you are willing to do your best and show an interest in caring as much as Rory and Ashley do about this place. You will do will!! This is place of beauty and if you like to wonder around in nature. It's a great region with healthy rivers!! Ashley, Rory, Hannah and Karolina are the main team of people working there. They are all professional and talented in their areas! I liked to spend my time reflecting on life and challenging myself adventurly. Ashley and Rory are the creators of this master piece!! And they were willing and open to help you to get involved in community activities as much or as little as you like!!

Carolina est venue chez moi une 10 aine de jours pour jardiner. Elle est très impliquée, travailleuse et de confiance. Nous avons partagé de bons moments, de bons repas qu'elle a préparé avec soins avec des recettes de sa mère. Nous avons eu aussi des discussions très intéressantes et enrichissantes jusque tard le soir. Je vous recommande de rencontrer Carolina !

Laura was a wonderful addition to our little family at Hostel. From the first day, she was friendly, she blended perfectly with the relaxed and social vibe of the place, interacting warmly with both guests and other volunteers.She helped with daily hostel tasks like cleaning, preparing rooms, and supporting guests, always keeping a smile on her face. Laura also brought her own creative energy — created a positive atmosphere around the hostel. Her easygoing spirit and sense of responsibility made everything smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.We truly appreciated having her as part of the team . Thank again you for your help , Wishing you amazing adventures ahead.

Badou was some days with us. We had interessting talks about our different culture.Badou is an easy going, respectful and open mindet helper, a perfect work awayer. He always had a helping hand round house and in garden. He tidyet up the barn, a really big work, as his own project, not stopping till every thing was done.The grandchildren liked to talk and to do jokes with him. And we all liked the food that Badou was cooking! Thank you Badou for your big strong help. All the good wishes for your life dreams! Hope to see you again !

It was a pleasure to have Luise at our farm helping out. Luise was easy going and always ready to be helpful- even when I didn't have much work for her. She was realy helpful in feeding the animals at the farm , some painting and other day to day duties. She only stayed for two weeks but we will always remember her sweet character.

The feedback Alex left for us pretty much explains why his stay was absolutely perfect and if he excelled in work his personality ans discreet atitude meets all the rest with grace and discretion as well as deep feelings. It was another excellent experience and we made a point telling him he would be very welcome whenever and for how long he wished.

We were expecting her late in the evening, but her phone wasn’t working and she got lost... so I experienced for the first time that you can worry about someone you don’t even know and have never met in your life. It was such a joy when she arrived with her little suitcase, her beautiful long hair, and her kind smile. She speaks English beautifully, with such a lovely pronunciation that she could easily work on a radio show. She quickly adapted to the house rules — for example, she always put her mug back in its place. She even neatly rolled up the cables before packing them away. She is a modest, quiet girl.

It was a true blessing to have Mathias Bolette and Marli during 3 weeks at the house.i had and opération and couldn t be full y active and their help was very presious for me. I needed work to be done in the garden mainly and everything went well...althought they didn t have experiences in some of the tasks i needed to do, they learned quickly and were able to do alot in 3 weeks. They adapted very well to the House and were very respectful of the rules and also always very respectful of the needs of the House in general. Bolette has cooked most of the day and she cook very well together with Mathias. We also had time to know each other in a quite Deep level , Mathias and Bolette are wery interesting couple with great Life experience . Marli. their dog got friend with Neo and she is a very well behave dog . I would definitly recommand this very nice team for your project. Thanks again for Everythin !!! Ps : just a small comment, Mathias and Bolette had a car and It was very useful for them, but workawayers don t need to have a car to stay at the House as there are 7 buses per day from the village to Granada which is very useful if workawayers want to spend time visting the beautiful city of Granada

I had a wonderful, very spontaneous stay with Regine. She welcomed me/us right away, for which I am very grateful. My tasks were clearly communicated and they definitely corresponded to the guidelines. We helped her with a few household chores and in her beautiful garden, which is full of delicious berries. Actually I planned to stay just for a couple of days but I stayed much longer and really enjoyed my time there. Regine did a wonderful card reading for me, we had such enriching conversations and she showed me so many new perspectives! Thank you for this unforgettable experience. Pam is the most amazing woman, we stayed with her for a few nights and had the best time! Her property set in the Rocky Mountains was absolutely beautiful it was a pleasure working on the garden and other odd jobs outside with such beautiful scenery (and the doggy to keep us company). Her house was cozy and warm and the food she cooked was delish😋 we also got some tips on how to make beer so can’t wait to try that ourselves! Thank you so much for having us Pam🫶

We had a very spiritual connection with Dani. He is such a warm soul with kind intentions in everything he does. He is an inclusive person who is happy to share his knowledge on Human Design. We made dramatic changes to his house together. He has a good balance of meditating and the drive to get things done. Hosting Alexa for 3 weeks felt like hosting family. She has a great sensitive, empathetic, authentic personality. All the animals loved her. She did the work thorougly and was good company to chat or play board games. Loved that she taught us Italian and many interesting Italian habits. Hope to see this flower and animal loving lady again!

I very much enjoyed my short stay with Nicole. Unfortunately my German was extremely limited at the time but I managed to talk to her using my phone at times to translate and we had a very nice meal together with some local cider. Andi the farm hand showed me how to muck out the stables and feed the pigs which was quite an eye opener for an urban type like me. I also loved his dog who followed me around the farm! On my last day he kindly drove me to the station in Stralsund and I was enchanted by the beauty of the old Hanseatic port.

We had the most amazing time at Jen's farm! We wish we could have stayed longer than two weeks. The animals were so much fun and every day was different. We particularly adored Mack and Chief, the maremma guardian dogs; Daisy cow is who was like a dog; the silly goats that like to escape; and the fuzzy and affectionate baby donkeys. The routines, chores and projects were reasonable and manageable. Millie the house manager, and Jen the owner were kind and very easy to work with. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the farm was gorgeous. We definitely want to return on our next on pass through Australia.

It has taken me a long time to write something here. Staying with Ruth, Andrea and Jasmine was truly a beautiful experience. It was my first workaway so the waters of expectation were uncharted. Waking up to the nature, collecting eggs and enjoying a morning coffee before commencing the daily jobs made it that much more joyful. Ruth, Andrea & Jasmine are beautiful people and have built something really special. The work itself was joyful because of the good company. I am so grateful for the experience and hope to see you all again soon. Big love x

Elena is a really nice person, we spent a really good time together, peeled lots of chestnuts and did many other useful jobs around the house, thank you so much for your presence and for your Help, too bad I didn't learn to do handstands but maybe next time! Thanks thanks thanks

Meeting Suzanne and her furry companion, Yuyu, was truly a gift. From the first moment, everything was so kind and warm. It was only a week, but I felt at home, and so did my dog. The space is beautiful and full of details and good energy. I would really love to see you again! Thank you so much

This was my first Workaway experience - as well as the beginning of my first journey as a solo traveler - and I feel immensely fortunate that I ended up here. I stayed for three weeks, and had I not already made arrangements elsewhere ahead of time, I would have absolutely been open to staying longer. I felt welcomed by the whole family, and really felt as though I experienced Portuguese culture here. Henrique was endlessly insightful, I very much enjoyed the conversations he and I shared. Luiza is extremely hospitable and a wonderful cook (I've never enjoyed salads so much in my life, good heavens). I even found some common ground with their teenage sons, Lucas and Gui, who were quick to engage in conversation in English with me. And then there was Zé, who I did not share a common language with, but spent most of my time alongside. I've never had that experience before - working towards goals with someone with no way to communicate in a language with them. We managed much more readily than I would have imagined, and by the end I was picking up some words in French he was using, or just getting better at comprehending what he was trying to convey to me. Having the caravan as my own personal space was really great for me. I caught up on a lot of reading during my off-time and had plenty of opportunity to research future adventures. Very few of my days working looked the same - I did some maintenance on some utilities, cleaned some sewer lines, helped feed and water the birds and dogs, pruned and harvested trees, set up and operated a couple remote-controlled mowers, set up some solar lights, pulled weeds, dug holes, watered plants, and even assisted in the pouring of a concrete slab and building of a rock-wall water basin. Wherever you're at with your Workaway experience, I would highly recommend this delightful food forest and welcoming home if you're in Portugal. I will always remember my stay in Pinhal Novo 🇵🇹 Obrigado!

Marissa and Henry were a fantastic addition to our guesthouse team for the last few weeks of the 2025 season. Friendly and fun, nothing was too much trouble and they were as big a hit with our guests as they were with us. They threw themselves into every task requested of them, always ready with a laugh, a cold beer and Rugby-loaded firestick that meant it was more like hanging out with old friends than Workawayers we'd just met. Keep in touch, you two! The world isn't that big a place.
