I had a wonderful experience with Veronica's team. From the moment I arrived, she made me and the other guest feel welcome- from showing us around the beautiful city, recommending us places to eat and visit, and helping us find our ways around, she was a delight every day. The work itself was also immensely rewarding- getting to support English language learners not only helped me develop as a teacher, it also exposed me to a very real, human side of Latin America that I had never seen before. Knowing I was supporting children and teenagers in their language learning journeys made it one of the most rewarding WorkAways I've done so far.

We volunteered as a couple and had mixed feelings about our experience. First of all, this isn't a yoga teacher volunteering. If you come for that, you'll be disappointed. But otherwise, you can find plenty of positive things at this place. More specifically : Positive points: - The place and setting is gorgeous and pleasant. - You can go walking in the area. - Room and kitchen are available for volunteers (no hot water when we were there). - My friend could do mural painting during the week, and Wilson was very open to her art projects. she also helped in the kitchen on weekends when it was busy. - When there are no guests, you can enjoy the yoga shala and pool. Negative points: - The job weren't what we'd agreed upon. I came to volunteer as a yoga teacher, but when I arrived, there was already a volunteer yoga teacher for that position. Furthermore, there were no guest, so no classes to teach for the first 10 days, and after that period, I would have had to deal with the volunteers who was already there to share the yoga classes slots. I felt very uncomfortable with this competition between volunteers and preferred to leave after 6 days. - Wilson's availability is very limited, which doesn't facilitate communication. We didn't feel very comfortable with the text message communication to organized things, which lacks human contact.

We stayed on this lovely family farm for about six weeks and had an amazing time! From the first day on, we felt very welcomed and part of the family. Valerie and Craig are super kind and easygoing, and their two kids are full of energy and fun to be around. We had our own big private space, which was really comfortable, and the meals were always delicious and shared together, which made us feel at home. During our stay, we got to help with different farm tasks like feeding the animals, fixing a few things, some gardening tasks and doing some small building projects such as fencing. We also learned a lot about how things work on a farm. Outside of work, we watched the baseball playoff series in the evenings or spend time at the grandma’s house (which is on the same property) for a great evening with friends and family. On our off days we explored Nanaimo, went for a swim in the river or visited the farmers market. Overall, it was a wonderful experience filled with good company, learning, and laughter. We’re very thankful for the time we got to spend there and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a genuine and welcoming farm stay!

We had an amazing time in Orewa! 🤗Marquita was super welcoming and helpful and shared all her tips for exploring NZ! The tasks were clear from the beginning so we always knew what to do. We power washed and painted her fences, trimmed the hedges and did other small gardening tasks. Marquita has a lovely and clean home and wonderful neighbours who took us to the local pub and swimming in the nearby beach! We really felt at home and part of the community straight away. The food was amazing as well and we really enjoyed our chats in the evening over a glass of wine. Last but not least we want to thank Marquita for being so helpful in letting us use her garage to get our van ready for the road! We can highly recommend staying with Marquita and hope we can come back one day!! 🥰

Cole and Shandra-Lee are such wonderful people! From the moment I arrived, they made me feel completely welcome, inviting me to movie nights and parties with their friends. There’s plenty of free time to explore the beautiful area, with lots of walking trails nearby. I also learned so many interesting things about farming during my stay. Edgewood is an amazing community, and I would 100% recommend this Workaway experience!

Our stay at Chelseas and Dales place was great! The work was varied, food was delicious and healthy, the accomodation clean and cozy. We felt warmly welcomed to join their activities outside of the farm, like a Thanksgiving meal with their family etc. We were never expected to work more than 5h a day 5 days per week and appreciated the clear daily structure we had. We worked in the mornings and had afternoons off. Dale took us hunting and fishing one saturday, which we enjoyed very much. We would definitely reccommend them as hosts! Thanks again for having us!

Samantha brought a lot of enthusiasm and humor into our farm days. If it were not for some dental issues that forced her to cut back on hours, and leave a week earlier to get a treatment done, she'd have lived up to the expectations. I wish her well and hope she can go on exploring.

As a host, we had an amazing Workaway experience with Charlotte. She was so nice to all of the students and teachers. We learnt a lot in this little time and that was mostly because of enthusiasm and passion Charlotte had for the project. She shared her great livings and cultures in UK with the primary school and kindergarten students and teachers. We also had conversation sessions with the students outside Surabaya via zoom and it worked very well. Thank you Charlotte from the bottom of our heart. It was a pleasure to have you here. You’re gonna be missed ❤️

We just continued our journey, after spending a beautiful 10 days at Ankit's farm. It was our first WorkAway ever, and we feel it set the standard pretty high. Ankit is an incredible host; kind, genuinely interested, and always open for our ideas and point of views. Also he had a clear idea about the tasks that he gave us, so we felt useful throughout our 10 days. The tasks were very varied. From dismantling a greenhouse, to harvesting persimmons and chili's, to some painting and reorganizing jobs. The house is beautiful, and even more beautiful are the lovely dogs. We miss them all already. Thank you Ankit for making us feel welcome and at home from the moment you picked us up!

Ben and Morgane are really welcoming and friendly. If you need anything they are always ready to help you as soon as possible: it can be informations about colectivos, food or activities. The workaway at the hostel is easy and most of the time you will be able to finish before the expected time. I had two wonderful weeks here and I met really nice people ( especially from France and Canada ahahaah).

Alex was a kind, fun and overall just great host! The experience was nothing short of amazing! We were given so much freedom within the amazing house, and Alex was always just a text away to help with anything we needed. Working here I had a lot of fun, I was given a lot of creative freedom, and I didn't feel like someone carrying out tasks, but rather like I was in charge of the tasks myself. Everyone was super welcoming and warm, and by the time my "shift" was over, I often didn't even realise. Needless to say it was an amazing experience, and if I have the chance to be in Bangkok again, I would love to repeat it!

Kif (Chris) was a perfect WA candidate for our program. He was great with Teen sailors, helping them improve skills and watching out that program ran safely and smoothly! He helped work through a few hurdles getting boats and launching/towing trucks lined up for camp. He had a "Yes we can" attitude. He was excellent house guest and good cook! I believe he would be an asset to any WA position he takes on.

My time here was spectacular, it is the type of place where you can really stay a long time. A little hideaway on the edge of deep jungle, you are exposed to raw nature and adapt to the natural cycle of life and have monkeys as your alarm clock. Chris, Celia and Pops were warm and welcoming hosts, who made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. Which I really appreciated. Also their home made empanadas were fire!! The vision of this place is very important. Protecting these species should be more talked about, it is very impressive and amazing what Chris and the team have achieved and created here so far and I am excited to see this place grow more and more. I also got to try my first temescal, which was very lasting experience. If this place is resonating with you I highly recommend it, there’s a lot of knowledge to gain, and good times to be had. Although I would only advise people who have actual interest in this project to apply, this is an important project not a place for a cheap Costa Rican vacation. Thank you so much to all of the team! I wish the best for you all. Love and light.

Jan and Marian were my first workaway hosts and what did I enjoy it! The work differed every day which I appreciated a lot and gave me plenty of learning opportunities. Jan and Marian are both very open and welcoming people ensuring a pleasant stay. What surprised me the most is how much I enjoyed spending time with all the visitors (volunteers and people with dementia). I had some funny and wonderful moments with them. I definitely recommend Jan and Marian (and Bella) as hosts!!

Staying on the farm was a truly wonderful experience. Spending time with the two hosts and all the animals was so happy and heartwarming. Both hosts were very kind and taught me many new things. It was my first Workaway, and it was the best experience in my life. Thank you so much for everything.

I had a great time in Belluno ! The family is very sweet and the area is really beautiful. I really enjoyed the work. When I was there, not so much needed to be done on the farm, so it was a mix of working on the farm (feeding the goats, picking up vegetables, keeping the surroundings clean) and house work (cleaning the house, preparing the yurt for the tourists, taking care of the baby), which I actually didn't mind. Although very busy, the family is very sweet and I enjoyed the times I could chat with them or play with the kids. During the afternoons and weekends, I got to relax and enjoy the view from the house, or go climbing and hiking with amazing local people I got to meet ! Keep in mind though that it's gonna be a little bit difficult to go on hikes, etc. if you don't have a car (but not impossible ! I went on a few taking the buses and it worked fine). I personnaly had a small communication issue with Jacopo in the beginning but after talking about it, it was much better for everyone involved in my opinion. To sum up, it was a great experience, that I would highly recommend ! It was my first workaway experience and I'm already planning the next one. Thank you Fransesca, Jacopo, Elia, Gere and Damiano !
