For a first experience, I cannot imagine better To begin with, the setting is simply amazing, the farm is located on cliffs with a breathtaking view of Mount Teide and the sea. Everything is designed to make you feel comfortable and at ease; you can choose between a large tent or a regular room. Personally, the tent experience was really great. I stayed for three weeks and didn’t see the time go by. Nadine is an incredibly kind, caring, funny person who always listens to our needs. She constantly makes sure we have enough to eat, goes shopping when something is missing in the kitchen, and prepares royal lunch with delicious recipes and homemade bread. As for the work, it’s both stimulating and enjoyable, sometimes a bit physical, but Nadine never puts pressure on you or sets strict schedules. As long as you work honestly and aren't lazy, she’ll always be satisfied. You also have a lot of free time to enjoy the place and the island A truly wonderful first experience. Thank you again for your hospitality, kindness and all the great moments!

Thank you Anne and Robert, for the amazing 2 weeks I've had with you guys! It was so cozy to stay in the container and have a private room :) And I was very glad to help out on and around the farm! Was very versatile and nice work, never too long, and always in mind with what you guys needed, and what I was comfortable doing. Thanks again, SO MUCH, for this amazing experience in Tazzie! Learned heaps from all your stories Bob, and all the meals were awesome Anne ;) Hope to see you around, and good luck with all the coming projects!! Cheers, Pelle

ULLALLAAAA :) Ciao Everyone, if there would be a competition of the best WA exchange in 2025 then for sure ours would be the winner far ahead :) :) :) We had so much laugh with Ante and the Girls in Ugljan island, morning coffees, fresh juices (from fruits growing on the island right in fron of the door) lunch breaks, evening chats, BBQ nights. It reminds me of school camps back in the days when we were kids ... just after 20 some years now ... We arrived for the olive harvest season in October and it was a short but very intense stay. We guests/workawayers had our separate apartments with shower, kitchen and everything that's needed for a comfortable stay. We were working together everyday and Ante did a good job with the organization. We have met funny and kind local people too. About the island: Ugljan is a rapidly developing resort island very well connected to Zadar. Everything is within walking distance: shops, beach, various walking trails, ferry port etc. The climate is lovely, in the low tourist season it's very comfortable to be there. Ante is an energetic, intelligent young host with a smile on his face all day :) Thank you Ante and thank you girls Sascha, Alix and Julia

Christian was an absolute pleasure to host. He’s very reliable and you can always count on him to remember tasks and follow through with great attention to detail. He shows persistence and doesn’t shy away from any kind of work – whether it’s physical tasks or things that require a bit of patience. Growing up on a farm clearly shaped his mindset in a very positive way: he’s practical, hardworking, and has a natural sense for what needs to be done. Christian is also a genuinely kind and considerate person – calm, easy to get along with, and respectful towards others. Everyone in my family really enjoyed having him around. We can warmly recommend him to any future host!

We stayed with SeungHwa and Jacques in their lovely home for a week. They are incredibly warm and kind people who we enjoyed spending a lot of time with! They made such an effort to show us around the area, teach us about Korean culture, and get to know us. We had many great conversations and quickly felt at home. We mostly worked in their garden and spend one day in their field. We already miss SeungHwa’s delicious food, Jacques’ many stories, and funny Haudou! Thank you so much for sharing a week of your life with us!

Sophie is an absolute go getter! She is always eager to help and has a fantastic attitude. She brings a vibrancy and joy to any project she does, as well as a professionalism and brain power that makes sure that everything she does is completed and done well. We’ve had her back several times to the ranch, and she’s always welcome here at the ranch!!!

We had such a wonderful time staying with John! He kindly took me and my friends in on very short notice, and we immediately felt welcome. During our stay, we learned so much — from working with sheep and doing woodwork for a charitable organization to discovering delicious local dishes and visiting great local bakeries. John showed us a lot about the local way of life and made sure we had a meaningful and fun experience. We’re really grateful for his kindness, generosity, and all the things he shared with us. Highly recommended!

Joce and Noah have just been with us for just over a month and we can highly recommend them. They are genuinely lovely people to just hang out with. They are both hard working and eager to tackle any project and learn new things. It is so lovely to see young people who are so extremely polite and eager to help!

First of all, they were incredibly kind. Even though my English isn’t fluent, they were always patient and eager to communicate and share their culture with me. By living together, I was able to experience the Italian culture in ways that I could never have understood otherwise. Surrounded by nature, life there was truly amazing. I collected eggs from their chickens and made jam with freshly picked fruits — it made me appreciate the everyday things I usually just buy at the supermarket. Life there was truly precious. The work itself was simple — carrying things, cleaning, gardening, and helping with their projects while they were away for a short time. Sometimes the tasks involved lifting heavy objects, but since I’m fairly strong, it was no problem — in fact, it turned into good training for me! The people in the town were so kind and friendly, and playing soccer with the local kids became one of my favorite memories. And above all, the food there was absolutely amazing. The wine and coffee — experiencing their authentic flavors for the first time — were unforgettable. If I ever have the chance, I’d love to come back and spend more time with them again.

we had a good few days stay at Gandis' place, the whole family is very welcoming and will put you at ease straight away. Mami will always make sure you're well fed, the food was delicious. You get a real feel for the Javanese way of life, in a great neighbourhood. Even though our stay was cut short, highly recommend staying with these lovely people. Thank you Gandis and family

my staying at the farm was basically indescribable. I came for a week and ended up staying for over 4 months. Everybody there is unbelievably nice. I enjoyed the calm there so much, the tasks changed everyday and the food Mauricio and Jenny provided was always amazing! Guys if you're looking for the best workaway you can find you have to come to the Farm in Tulipe! I know it won't be my last time there! Just for the info you'll find a private room with bathrooms and everything, food is amazing and everybody is so passionate about it, Mauricio is a real patriot and knows basically everything about Ecuador and Jenny everything about Quito. I've never met people which are so helpful and they gave me again hope and proof that there are amazing people out there. The neighbors of the Farm are just as amazing. We met so often and had so much fun together at karaoke or other things! They involved me in everything, family partys, trips to Quito (Farm is quite remote), tasks they knew I'm good in and everything what was going on their lives. My spanish increased soo much in those months because even they are doing very well with english we all preferd to talk in spanish wich helped me a lot learn. I can't mention everything here because it would be too much to explain but trust me everyone who goes there will regret leaving again! I can't thank all of them enough for my experience, all the laughters, the help, the great talks and everything I learned through them. Les veo pronto mi familia ecutoriana!

Hi Yvonne, Thank you for working and staying friendly in this guesthouse. Everyone had nice time with you. Your hospitality and good mind make the atmosphere of this guesthouse good:D Enjoy climbing in the nature!! For the person who are interested her. Her basic job in this guesthouse was cleaning and supporting check-in guests. She worked well and communicated well with every guests. I think everyone can do the basic job but communicate well and make good mood in the guesthouse is not for everyone. She is nice and highly reccommendation. She is climber so hard job is OK and she told me she was interested to be Japanese salary women so she can do everything. I hope she will enjoy working and have great experience. Have a great day!

I spent 7 weeks on Jackie’s farm during September and October 2025 and I have left with some incredible once in a lifetime experiences. Jackie immersed us in rural Canadian life and we had a lot of laughs along the way. I was fortunate to see the Northern Lights 3 times during my stay. Even though Jackie’s front yard provides the perfect viewing point to see the lights, she still made the effort to drive us out to a couple of spots to get a better view. Seeing the lights reflect across the lake was spectacular. Jackie made it clear to us before we arrived that she was struggling with knee pain and had got behind with a number of jobs. Despite this, Jackie still took us to various events and activities such as Cold Lake’s bull-a-rama and dance, a working equitation all day event, a bird show in Alberta, bingo, fall supper, trail rides, canoeing, corn maze, crazy golf and wildlife spotting! I got to see moose and coyote for the first time. Note that a lot of the above activities are dependent upon the time of year you stay. I would not recommend staying with Jackie if you cannot tolerate mess and some disorganised chaos. “Whatever happens, happens,” is the motto I came to live by but it was totally fine and fun. Life on a hobby farm is unpredictable, you just need to be willing to step up and help out and you will get the best out of the experience. If you are keen to go “bird ranching” this is the place for you! I have learned how to catch geese, ducks, chickens and guineas over the last few weeks. Oh, we also helped Jackie conduct a gender reveal for her geese which was mad but hilarious. It’s noisy, there’s plenty of animals, you need to be able to handle dirt and some hard work but you will definitely have a great time. I celebrated my birthday whilst at Jackie’s house and she made it special by surprising me with an ice cream birthday cake (I am now converted!) and a wonderful trail ride with a stunning viewing point with all the fall colours. Being in the middle of nowhere can be daunting for some but I highly recommend staying here if you enjoy campfires, marshmallows and star gazing. The sunrises, sunsets and night time skies are insane! Jackie and family, thanks for hosting me. It was wild 😁

What a nice man Joey is! Keep an eye out for this guy and welcome him in. We were teasing him that he is the ‘ideal workawayer’. Most likely applause for his upbringing! He even prepared a great meal for us. Joey is a hardworking guy who is open to learn new skills and well able to share his knowledge of computers etcetera. He is a good listener and talker and mixed well with ‘our people’. Without Joey we would still have a lot to finish! Btw. Please feed him well, he eats for 3 but it sure keeps his engine going! No he will NOT just empty your supply without permission! He is really very empathic about the hosts needs. And of course Bella was besotted at him! Joey coped well with us oldies, but no doubt it would be nicer if there were some other younger people around for him.

It was an absolute pleasure hosting Alessia and Casper during their first WorkAway experience! From the very beginning, they brought great energy, curiosity, and initiative to every task — whether it was dismantling the greenhouse, harvesting, or helping with painting and reorganization. They worked efficiently, communicated clearly, and approached everything with a wonderful attitude. Their presence made the farm feel livelier, and our dogs absolutely adored them! I truly appreciated their ideas and thoughtful conversations — it’s rare to find volunteers who contribute not only with their hands but also with their hearts and minds. Thank you both for your kindness, enthusiasm, and the care you showed towards the place and the animals. You’re always welcome back anytime — the persimmons (and the dogs!) will be waiting for you. 🌿🐾
