Ren and Ruth are such an amazing couple, we had a great time together. The students really liked them. The students were going back to school and work after vacations so they had to get their things together and sometimes didn’t show up for classes. We went to places in town to try traditional food and had interesting conversations about England and cultures. Thank you for everything, I highly recommend working with Ruth and Ren so much fun☀️🫶

I had such a wonderful time with Bob, Éline, and Frodo! From the moment I arrived, I felt completely welcome and part of the family. I absolutely loved my time in the Netherlands — Bob and Éline went above and beyond to help me out, from picking me up and dropping me off at the train station to even helping me get to the local doctor when I wasn’t feeling great. Nettie was a gift to our lives, hearts, and projects. She expressed on various occasions that she is working on personal growth and strength, which, in my opinion, is what endows her with the admirable ability to contribute heartily to interpersonal cooperation. Simply put, she is an optimistic person to work with and communicate with. She was willing to try most of the large variety of projects and activities that go on around here, and she was a good sport about it. I greatly appreciated conversing with her, she has thoughtful opinions to share, and is also an engaged listener. Nettie is a blessing to have "on-board" and if you are considering her, I'd very much recommend her for your project.

What can we say about these two amazing hosts. A more open, friendly and compassionate host will be hard to find on our travels. Majic & Carolina’s understanding and kindness will live with us for the rest of our trip and lives. If we were not right at the start of our long journey we would have stayed longer than the 1 month we were there. The work was relaxed and at your own pace for trusted, self motivated, organised individuals like us. Dan stuck to mostly DIY projects and grass cutting/gardening, while Yachi mostly cleaned and cooked. Daily written tasks given were very clear, fair and organised. We like to walk everywhere and being on the edge of the city we found things can be a bit too far away to reach on foot, but once we found the InDrive App this helped. The plus side of being on the edge is there is access to unmarked trails (kind off) up the volcano behind them that we really enjoyed walking up one day! Also we found it nice and quiet at night even though its in the capital. The ongoing projects, plans and vision they have will continue to grow and develop, so there is the possibility to get more involved with those as and when, for the right person. We will truly treasure our time with them in the sanctuary. We hope they will visit us in our home sometime in the future so we can return the great hospitality.

Having Allie was such a pleasure!! Due to unforeseen circumstances Allie stayed with us longer than planned, but she integrated so well into our life’s. She has an awesome sense of humour and is very kind-hearted and sweet. She’s assertive, mature and takes initiative (she picks up tasks easily, ‘sees’ the work, walks the dog without us having to ask for it, etc), making it so nice to have her around. Oh — and she can cook very well!!! 10/10 would recommend, she’s always welcome to come stay with us again. Only downside: she used our In Case Of Emergency toilet roll… I mean: who does that?! 😉

My first volunteering experience will stay with me forever. A big thank you to Deepak and his wife, they are so so kind ! You will have fun playing yams and enjoy every meal with simple food, as they like to say. I am leaving with beautiful memories in my head and white tea in my backpack <3 PS: I'll send you a selfie as soon as I'm in Germany and I've found your son ;)

We had the wonderful Isabell come to us for around a month and what a pleasure it was to have her here. She seemed to fall into a routine quickly and was super efficient at getting things done and fully embraced life at the sanctuary which can be full on at times. She had masses of patience with the animals and at times they took more notice of her then me and I heard her talking to them often. She was fabulous with all the animals in the house allowing the cats to take her over and the dogs to claim her lap even when they’re too big to. Isabell is great company, very smart, organised, an asset and will be able to do whatever she wants with her life and we’re both so happy she came to us and hope very much to see her again sometime, she’ll always be welcome here

Me and two University friends (all in our 70s) have so much enjoyed three fantastic weeks with Hilary in her beautiful property with her gorgeous dogs. Hilary has been so generous with her time and her amazing hospitality….. the three of us were reluctant to leave a review as we want to keep the place all to ourselves! The work was varied and we tackled such things as refreshing the pool, cleaning the hen house, whitewashing areas and other general maintenance. Lunches were a dream as were the card games we played in the afternoon lazy times. We joined Hilary in her house to watch some evening TV on occasion and were always made to feel welcome. We tended to go and explore the area on our days off and were always greeted with yet another fantastic meal on our return. We will DEFINITELY be back and can really recommend Hilary as a first class host. Thanks Hils….you are the best. Vicky, Anne and Barrie

Staying with Nimea, Paolo and little Oceano was a wonderful experience. This place has a very special energy ,being all about taking things easy, enjoying the ocean and learning by doing. The work is relaxed and meaningful: planting seeds, taking care of the agroforest, installing irrigation pipes, harvesting fruits, and helping to create a beautiful and peaceful environment. I really enjoyed the balance between learning new skills and sharing good moments with everyone around. Thanks to this lovely family for teaching us new skills and taking care of us! This is our second time here and we'll come back for sure ..!

It was an amazing time! I spent a month at the hosts place and it was exactly how I imagined it, even better! Amazing and deep talks, nice community, harmonious place. Recommend!

You set the simply the right priorities and this is a skill, which not many people have. Your fine sense of humor was very helpful to maintain a good mood in the team during stressful times. For you everything seemed to be possible. We always could count on you even when there were very new and special tasks. You understood fast and very well the system here and your integration to this summer madness in canoe season was so smooth and easy. Chapeau ! I hope that it was not the last time for you here ! Kat is a fantastic girl and we were truly fortunate to have her as a volunteer! She’s genuinely passionate about the world of hospitality — she has volunteered in many hostels before, and it really shows in both the small and big details. Kat is not only efficient and dedicated in her work — we greatly appreciated her invaluable help with cleaning tasks — but she also has the sensitivity and emotional intelligence to understand people and connect with them in the best possible way. She always maintains a positive attitude, even in challenging situations, especially when others might not be performing at their best. She knows how to handle things in a constructive and motivating way, which I deeply appreciated. If one day she fulfills her dream of running her own hostel, I’m sure she will create a wonderful place thanks to her great qualities and experience. We absolutely recommend her as a volunteer and hope to see her again in the future :)

What a super nice family and place! Daniela and Martin were so nice, and had an amazing place with all sorts of different animals. We had a lot of freedom for the work, we could almost do what we wanted. Unfortunatly our stay was too short, and we hope we can come back another time, because this farm had a special aura of relaxation and happiness.

I first felt the call of this community a year ago when I saw Alin’s profile on Workaway. His passion~the fire and determination~felt almost tangible. At that time, it wasn’t the right moment for me. A year later, his dream resurfaced. I reached out to Alin. The place had changed, but the magic and fire still burned. Over weeks, we talked almost daily. His energy and dedication to building a community~a place where people feel at home and understood~immediately drew me in. Even from afar, something magical was unfolding. My heart has long wanted to bring trust, togetherness, and love back into the world~to show a different way of living, one that contrasts with the corrupt systems we follow blindly. So I decided to fly to Greece. I finally met Alin and Ellie in person. Two wonderful souls who welcomed me warmly. I’ve never felt so at home on a Workaway. Here, you’re not just a visitor~you’re part of the community. Together, we support, grow, share, and remind each other of life’s beauty. The vision is still early, but it burns brightly and grows stronger each day with every thought, act, and heartbeat moving toward this goal.🔥 The more people join, the stronger the fire becomes~and with it, we can change the world.🌍 Through small actions~deep conversations, giving clothes new life, sharing art, playing music, or sending love~we add to the planet’s collective energy. Nanna and Emma volunteered at our Spanish School in Cusco/Peru for five weeks in September/October 2025, and we are very happy! Both are very friendly, communicate well, are responsible, and very pleasant to work with. The students loved them and they did a wonderful job. Highly recommended!

Our family had the pleasure of staying with Ruben, Marta, Roger and Arnau for 2 weeks. Our girls are the same age as Roger and Arnau and they really enjoyed spending time together. The whole family made us feel welcome straight away, including us in their activities, cooking us fantastic dinners, sharing information about Cardedeu and Barcelona, and even organising for our girls to visit the local schools. We agreed on the work required at the start of our stay and Ruben and Marta were very flexible with how we managed our time. They were very generous throughout our time in Cardedeu, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this workaway to anyone wanting a cultural experience close to Barcelona.

Florian and Christiane was great hosts with a lot of knowledge on farming! We felt that we learned a lot, even though we only had a short stay of two weeks. It was our first workaway, and we were happy that we chose this place. He had a lot of different tasks for us so it was not boring at all, and the family was very welcomming. They had quite late dinners, so for us it was easier to cook by ourselves in a nice kitchen they had downstairs.

Paolo was super accommodating and kind from the very first meeting. I really loved the area, the town and the accommodation was super comfy. You can easily immerse yourself into swiss culture as you work with people completing their civil service. The work itself can be quite physical from time to time, but your work schedule is very flexible and Paolo always tries to comply(always worked for me) with requests you have. I recommend everyone to go here it's really fun and you will see a sode of switzerland not many people will experience:)
