We were truly impressed by Alex. Mostly by how creatively and caring he was playing with our children. Surya loved him from the minute he stepped into our house. It made my life very easy having him around with the kids. Alex also did some heavy work outside on the farm, helping to make our new chicken coop. Everyone was sad when he was leaving, wishing he would have stayed longer. He was fun to have around and extremely easy going. We definitely recommend hosting Alex to everyone who gets the chance.

I stayed at Gail’s ranch for 10 weeks and it was honestly the best time! I can really recommend staying longer — you start to feel so at home and get to know everything really well. The work is fun; it’s mostly feeding the animals every day and sometimes cleaning things or preparing firewood for the winter. If you organize yourself, it’s no problem at all to get a day off. You can talk to Gail about anything — she’s super open and friendly. Working with Desiree (she is the "teacher" for the work) is also great fun; she’s really funny, and after a few weeks it honestly feels like being best friends 🤗

Lucia has been the perfect host. It is hard to imagine that anyone could have worked harder to immerse us into the ways of Argentina, into the wonderfully tight-knit community of Ita Ibate, into the traditions of the Guarani and into her own life. I (Phil) have had the pleasure of teaching English to the amazing students at the English World Institute and Julie has been delighted to help with valuable home decoration projects. We've been taken to multiple community events, to the astonishing Ibera Wetlands and to the secondary school where we were welcomed by one and all. I really cannot recommend this experience highly enough and I know that we will take so much away from it ourselves, always carrying a bit of Ita Ibate with us in our hearts. Thank you so much, Lucia and Juan, we really have found our time here unbelievably special.

We stayed with Mike for just over a week in New Zealand and couldn’t have asked for a better first experience in the country. From the start, communication was easy—Mike was responsive and accommodating, even when we reached out months before our trip. During our stay, he made us feel completely at home and treated us to some incredible vegetarian meals! As mentioned in his profile, the work can be physically demanding at times, but it’s very rewarding to know you’re contributing to Mike’s amazing project. He’s very friendly, and his dog Billy might just be the most lovable dog you’ll ever meet. Mike also shared plenty of great recommendations for local hikes, restaurants, and hidden gems in the area. We both came down with a bit of a travel bug for a couple of days, and Mike was so understanding—he adjusted our tasks to make things easier while we recovered. Overall, our stay was a wonderful experience. We felt warmly welcomed into a new country and left with a deeper appreciation for New Zealand’s nature (and mulching 😂). If you get the chance to stay with Mike and Billy, take it—you won’t regret it!

Mustafa worked together with fellow Workawayer Antonella for a week on our food forest. They formed an excellent team. In keeping with Mustafa's habit of expressing everything in superlatives: he is the best and smartest. In any case, he is a hard and precise worker. He loves order and cleanliness and has a special sense of humor. We can recommend him to all hosts who do outdoor work.

Where to start...it was such a "peace of mind" experience, knowing that everything would have been taken care of while I was absent. Responsible and independent couple. They did everything I expected from them and more.... Sorry we didn't meet....Ibam sure we would have had a great time!!!

Gracias Diego

I really enjoyed Jamie's company and help over the week and a bit that he stayed. Like me, he is relatively quiet and self-contained, but he evidently enjoyed sessions with Sam and Tye who were also here as Workaway guests. Jamie is clearly a bright guy who observes the world with a thinking eye. I appreciated his close interest in the sustainability and growing initiatives that I am trying to imbue in this project. It is easy to imagine him doing something similar himself one day. His enthusiasm for the undertaking was reflected in his commitment to helping and he put a good effort into the mulching, transplanting, digging and weed control tasks that he undertook. Another thing that I enjoyed in Jamie is his interest in the natural world and getting out on foot to explore. I really hope that he realises his ambition to walk a decent portion of the Te Araroa route whilst here Thanks for all your help, Jamie. Hope your girlfriend manages to join you.

A pleasure to have had Sam join me for about 10 days, alongside Tye and Jamie who were also here as Workaway guests. My sense of Sam is that he is a deep thinker and that he has a big heart. He carries these qualities quietly, so it took a few days to get a feeling for his way of being. He is a friendly and thoughtful guy who seemed to be as comfortable being independent as socialising with the other men staying. On the work front, I was impressed with the effort that he devoted, particularly as someone who normally enjoys a more relaxed life than comes with helping to improve a reasonable area of land, as I am attempting. There were a few times where he put in a bit of extra time to complete a task and he gladly launched himself into the activities happening, even though some were a bit demanding. He helped to move quite a bit of mulch, did some timber staining, planted comfrey roots and spread fertiliser as his contribution. He also topped up some of my raised beds and planted up one of them on the eve of his departure (plans already growing well) Thanks for your help, Sam. All the best for your ongoing travels with Emma

Lorraine and Jack have created a dynamic environment where education, building, and fun are at the forefront. Jack knows a lot about everything, and I enjoyed playing basketball with him and the kids after a work day. Awesome place and people and am grateful for the experience

Mariza: eternamente agradecidos.
