Helen was a great guest. She took on a challenging task in the library and did a fantastic effort and some. Fitted in well with our house and home routines and helped out at mealtimes. Kids enjoyed having her here, all this in the hottest time of year. Thanks heaps Helen and hope to see you again. Liam and Anna (Malachy and Phoenix)

Mark and Maz were lovely to work for. They were very fair on how I wanted to work my hours and would assign me jobs that they thought would suit me better/ what I would prefer.

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel! Working reception was relatively easy and chill most of the time! I met alot of great people passing through, as well as some great volunteers! It was my first workaway experience and im glad how much structure it had! If you want to spend some time in the big city this is definitely the place to volunteer!

Thank you so much, Ky! It was a real pleasure having you here. You worked very well and helped us a lot — both in the garden and with our marketing. We truly appreciated your positive attitude and reliability. You’re always welcome to come back anytime — we’d be very happy to host you again!

We stayed with Dionny and her family for a week and loved our time there! The work is really easy, only a couple of hours a day and Dionny is very relaxed if you want the day off to go on hikes or exploring in Huaraz. There were lots of other volunteers there so we had lots of big communal dinners and a good cultural exchange. We also got to practice our Spanish with Dionny, who is hilarious, very talkative, and sooo fit and active! Her children, Alan, Andrea, and Dionny were all super helpful and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!!

We were incredibly fortunate to have Olga and Murad as part of our team at the Bistro this year. As new owners taking over the business, their contributions were invaluable. From exceptional customer service to back of the house (kitchen) support, they consistently went above and beyond to ensure our guest’s needs were met while maintaining high standards and following protocols. The positive energy and teamwork they brought were truly remarkable, creating a vibrant atmosphere that energized the entire staff. Olga and Murad were always punctual, reliable, and took full responsibility for their roles. Highly recommend them.

If you're looking for a fun farm to volunteer at, look no further! I stayed for 7 weeks at the farm and genuinely enjoyed every day. The workload is more than manageable. 5 hours, Monday to Friday. You usually work early in the morning, so by the afternoon you've already forgotten you had a 'full' workday. The work itself is fun and varied. Pair that with working alongside your new friends from the farm, time flies! There are many volunteers at the same time, so you'll find friends immediately:) Mike and Anja are great hosts. They are caring, funny and inspiring in many ways. It was a pleasure to be able to work at the farm and I couldn't recommend this Workaway more. Thank you so much!

I had a short but lovely stay at Milo’s. I felt very lucky to experience it Milo does take care of his workawayers- the food was amazing, the landscape beautiful, and he has lots of great stories to share. There’s structure and rules to the days, but it means he respects your time, which I appreciated a lot. I enjoyed feeding the chickens, helping cook local dishes from the land ( some things from scratch), planting veg and seedlings, and a bit of olive picking too, which I was keen to do! Grazie per tutti Milo! I hope to be able to help you with the olive harvest in the future!

Xavi and Ari are two really wonderful human beings. They both have a very kind and warm energy about them, they're conscious, insightful, and respectful people, and were eager to learn and helpful in many different ways. They were open to a variety of tasks, they took on some of the hardest work in the garden, made some nice upgrades to the house, and even carved some spoons out of wood  😊 We had a great time together over many inspiring  and thought-provoking conversations as well as some jungle exploration adventures, game nights, and music jams (thanks for singing and the song intros Ari!). We're super grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time with them, we would surely recommend them for any other project and hope they come back again one day like they said. Pura vida amigos!

Nolan was a super solid volunteer here, we would definitely recommend him for other projects he would be interested in.  He was hard-working, easy-going, curious, and appreciative. He arrived really late the first night but still got up early the next day and helped with some pretty tough machete work like a beast. He was a fast learner in a variety of different tasks. took some very creative photos capturing some of the intricate details of the forest and animals here, and was a warrior on the jungle outings. He's on an amazing adventure and has a lot of insight about the world, which he shared in some of our many wonderful conversations together. Thank you so much Nolan for all your hard work and kind company, it was really great to have you here. You'd be welcome back anytime and we wish you all the best on the rest of your journey 🙏😊

I was able to spend 3 weeks with this amazing family! They were incredibly kind. The whole family is really cool, and the dinners we shared in the evenings were very friendly and super delicious (I really enjoyed them). Even though I don’t speak English very well, they were very understanding and clear, which made it possible for us to communicate. The tasks are simple and easy, and we have plenty of free time to explore the city!! I highly recommend this family!!!!

Shiori stayed two weeks with us, everybody loved her including our dog Vivi. She would help wherever, whenever we needed her to. I really enjoyed her company and hear about her mindset and lifestyle. She helped with some construction work, kitchen, cleaning in generell but also walking our dog. We went partying, to markets and she cooked amazing japanese dumplings for us. It was a pleasure to have her!

My stay with Elena was a great first workaway experience. Elena is so welcoming and kind, she always made sure I had everything I needed and it was so lovely getting to know her. The living arrangements are perfect, having your own bedroom and bathroom makes the stay very comfortable. Chiavari is a really nice town to live in, and a great base to explore Liguria. The boys are adorable & very funny, it was fun spending time together. I would definitely recommend this workaway experience as it is a great balance of work and play. Thank you guys for an amazing summer <3

I consider myself very lucky to have had Joanna, Antonio and Massimiliano as my first work away host family. From the first day on I was treated exceptionally well and immediately felt like part of the family. They are great people. I was invited to social gatherings, met many of their friends and Joanna and Antonio showed me around to wonderful places. Their cosy home is in an incredible beautiful part of Tuscany that needs to be experienced. The work is organized, well explained and fairly easy. The food is fantastic. It was a wonderful experience for me, the time flew. I definitely go back to Joanna and Antonio‘s paradise.

Asia y Joel. ¡¡Excelentes voluntarios!! Ricardo

Brooke and Stacy are an absolutely amazing couple: so kind, gentle, hardworking, and organized. From the very start, they brought incredible energy to the farm, and we honestly only have great things to say about them. Stacy is probably the most organized person I’ve ever met. She’s super sharp, understands everything on the first try, and is always smiling and eager to help. On top of that, she has a great sense of humor and brings a light and joyful vibe to the team. Brooke is equally incredible: full of artistic talent, a passion for gardening, and the ability to make the most amazing drinks. Together, they’re a balanced, fun, and inspiring team. They helped us with many tasks: organization, construction, gardening, making shrubs, bartending, and so much more. In every single thing they did, they excelled - always with care, skill, and a great attitude. It was truly a pity they couldn’t stay longer because their presence was unforgettable! In short, they’re the kind of people who leave a real mark wherever they go. If you have the chance to host Brooke and Stacy, do it - you’ll have a wonderful experience. Super recommended!

My experience in Goldschau with Kaya and David was Wundebar, I knew interesting people when I was there, Kaya and was very helpful and kind all the time. I had my own space and moments for me but also sharing with them some dinner and lunch, they cook like a pro for me. The work around there is flexible and consist basically in some renovation, demolition in my case, really enjoy that. But also some cleaning, organizing, moving, gardening, etc. Is something to do there always so you don't get boring. In the afternoons I was hiking in the amazing landscapes of sachsen and thuringa. And visiting Leipzig some weekends. They was very kind to give some rides to the bus/train station. I really enjoy my time with them and time just fly by.

We spent two and a half weeks in June with Nicki and Richard, and this time will never be forgotten. The experience we gained during this time is difficult to describe. Nicki and Richard live in the beautiful Blythe Valley, close to the beach, forest and meadows. They have a 113-hectare farm there where sheep graze. On their land, they have set themselves the goal of restoring native biodiversity and giving rare native animal and plant species a chance to thrive. The dedication with which they pursue this task is more than remarkable. We supported them in their wonderful project with activities such as weeding and native tree planting. These physical tasks are enjoyable, as they are mostly carried out in the fresh air and create a great working atmosphere. The importance of this contribution to nature conservation is particularly motivating. As well as supporting their efforts to increase biodiversity, we also helped with self-sufficiency and household tasks. We tidied up the shed, helped here and there with the colourful vegetable garden, processed the ducks (since we had expressed a particular interest in this) and chopped wood. We helped out a lot and were involved in everything, and above all, everyone was able to help with the tasks they were particularly good at. Our individual interests were also taken into account in a particularly touching way, and while we tried to help as much as possible, Nicki and Richard also made sure that we had a good time and pursued our interests. We were also asked what we would like to do, had days off and were provided with excursion destinations and ideas. We also went on a few small excursions with Nicki and Richard, which we remember particularly nicely. Our help was always appreciated and we felt like family. Nicki and Richard taught us a lot about things that interested us, such as hunting and baking sourdough bread and other delicacies. We had such a wonderful time, listening to stories over excellent food at the dinner table and laughing a lot. The work was demanding, but enjoyable. The community spirit is also remarkable; we got to know many of Nicki and Richard's friends and had great exchanges with them. This experience is for anyone who is willing to learn new things, get physically involved and spend a lot of time in the fresh air. The way of life at Nicki and Richard's is incomparable and has left a lasting impression. We would come back anytime. This Workaway is truly a very special opportunity. Dear Nicki, dear Richard, we think of you often and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this unique time.

Hi there! I stayed here with my partner for 7 months, and from the very beginning, Michael and Alexandra were amazing with us. Whenever we had any needs, they went out of their way to help. We didn’t speak German, but whenever a friend came over, Alexandra always made sure we understood what was being said and translated it for us on the spot—it made us feel really included. And Michael… he always took the time to share fascinating details about Germany, which was super interesting. The place itself is incredibly peaceful, and the guests are generally very polite and friendly. Our tasks included cleaning and maintenance (painting, gardening, etc.), I cooked for Michael, Alexandra, and the other Workawayers, and I also did the shopping. They were really flexible with us—we had a timeframe to get things done, but we could choose when to work. The surroundings are beautiful: the sound of birds, starry nights, the beach nearby, the wind rustling through the trees, fruits, mushrooms, and all the forest wildlife—it was magical. I even managed to finish my first album while I was there, working on it alongside my tasks. I would love to go back next year and really hope I get the chance because it felt truly idyllic. Big hugs to Alexandra and Michael. <3 <3
