First of all, I'm really thankful for some of the things Markus teached me. I learned how to drive a quad, a car in left handed traffic (I could even use his car in my spare time) and a tractor. I also improved my knowledge about farming a lot and we did fun jobs as feeding the lambs and chickens. But even though I'm really thankful for all of these experiences I'm not quite sure if I would do it again. I sometimes felt quite uncomfortable as a solo travelling girl because of some comments and I also think that the communication was pretty bad (normally it was ok, but when it came to problems I felt like he wouldn't even listen to me and we were not really able to find a solution for them). I also think you have to really stand up for yourself, otherwise he will let you work way more than 3h and the Internet was not available.

Spending time with Cordelia and Suzi was truly wonderful. I am so grateful to have arrived at their paradise for my first adventure as a Workawayer—it was unforgettable and deeply rewarding. Despite my communication difficulties, Cordelia’s kindness, generosity, and positive spirit made me feel welcome from the very start. I loved exploring in the free time the stunning natural surroundings on walks and enjoying the beautiful nearby beaches. Helping with her projects was one of the most enriching experiences of my time in this country. I feel happy and proud to have contributed even a little, and I am thankful to have met such a warm, special person as Cordelia, alongside the delightful Suzi. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, perfect for anyone who enjoys privacy amidst a unique natural setting. I especially enjoyed spotting and identifying the birds around the property. This was truly a positive experience, and hope to be able to return someday. I will always carry Cordelia and Suzi in my heart. Infinite thanks for everything.

I really enjoyed my stay with Dionne and her little daughter. From the first day she was really welcoming and wanted me to feel as comfortable as possible. She was always really thankful for the work I did for her and she always made sure that I feel good. It was also important to her, that I could see a lot of Chch so I could decide when I want to do the tasks and plan my day myself. I am also really thankful for the nice evenings we spent eating together (really delicious) and playing with her daughter. She was really interested in different cultures and teached me a lot about her own. I had so much fun, learned a lot and already miss them both. I hope to get back to Chch later this year to visit you again!

Logan is an amazing person ❤️ he is always with a smile and if he does not know the job he is learning very fast. I have not see a young person that really does not have an ego is very rare even for older people. He blends with other people perfect. I highly recommend him is an asset to every host.

My stay with Dick's family was amazing, it was by far the best of my trip. I worked around 3 hours a day, got to enjoy the company of Dick and Iza's amazing children, tried to entertain Tula while working, and plenty of other things. I would 100% recommend this farm for anyone who wants to enjoy their trip. Dick and Iza offered me a lot of advice, about local (delicious) food or history, what to see in Krakow and more. I also very much enjoyed have a bike tour with Casper, trying Anabelle's cooking, having a nice chat with Sophia, and the canoe session with Jarn.

I visited Kylie and Paul’s place for only 3 days but it was so wonderful. Paul left for work the first day, so most of my time was spent with Kylie who is a lovely, warm, generous, fun woman. She provided delicious, plentiful food and we had many lovely chats. The property is gorgeous and relaxing. I stayed in the house for one night and the log cabin for another. Both were great. I helped in the garden weeding around the raspberries and putting wood chips down. We created biochar (fun!) via a very hot fire in a kiln from fallen leaves and bark, hose at the ready, and we took an evening walk on a track in the bushland, visiting the lake. I had an amazing 3 days of lovely sunny weather (note it’s not always sunny and you might need gumboots) and thoroughly enjoyed Kylies company and the peacefulness of the property and the valley. Gorgeous place, gorgeous people. I plan to return in December when the raspberries ripen. Thanks so much Kylie.

Alfons is lovely a kind and gentle person. When he is a given a task to do he simply goes and gets it done. His work was meticulousand and amazing. Our family and friends thought he was great. It was an absolute pleasure having Ben with us for 3 weeks! From day one, he showed incredible enthusiasm and responsibility at our hostel! Ben was always reliable and proactive — whether it was helping at the front desk, cleaning tasks, organizing activities, or assisting guests with local recommendations. He even helped us to write us a new script that make our daily operation easier. He brought a positive energy that made the atmosphere warmer and more welcoming for everyone. Beyond being a great volunteer, Ben was also a wonderful person to have around: kind, respectful, and easy going. He quickly became part of our hostel family, and we were sad to see him go! We highly recommend Ben to any future host. Thank you very much for all your hard work and great attitude. You’re always welcome back here anytime!

Jacqueline is amazing. My words are not enough to describe her, you just have to know her. She’s super strong, hard-working, and on top of that, just absolutely amazing. I thought I was hosting a volunteer, but in the end, I hosted an amazing friend. It honestly hurts to see her go, but that’s life. She will keep moving and spreading good energy wherever she lands. I wish her all the best on her trip and whatever chapters come next. She’s inspiring, full of ideas, creative , and someone you’ll just love being around. You’ll laugh 100%, you’ll get things done, you’ll have the best time. You’re always welcome back. You have a family in Tenerife ❤️

Jacob and Sabine joined us mid June until mid September. They adapted perfectly well to all the varied tasks we asked them to do and were consciencious, serious, quick learners and hard working. They were fun to work with. They contributed ideas and initiatives which we will keep : ) We loved having them as part of our team and they were great pilars for us during the summer season! We enjoyed working and exchanging with them about all kinds of things. They were also curious to discover the region and made the most of the outdoor activities available and it was nice to hear about their discoveries and adventures. We wish them lots of success and happiness in their future plans and hope to stay in touch with them to hear all about it.

I had the great pleasure of spending time as an au pair with Mar and her lovely family. From the very first day, they welcomed me warmly and made me feel like a true part of the family. The children are bilingual, so the main part of my role was simply spending time with them, speaking naturally in English. We played card and board games, went swimming in the pool, and enjoyed visits to the beach. It was a lot of fun and a great way to help them expand their vocabulary in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Mar was always kind, thoughtful, and supportive, making me feel comfortable and included in daily life. Living with this family was smooth and joyful, and their positive energy made every day special. I’m deeply grateful for this experience and highly recommend this family to any au pair looking for a caring, welcoming, and engaging environment.

I have been 4 weeks with Dany and his great family, staying at the English Learning Center. I was accommodated in an almost luxury private room with attached bathroom. The room has a nice big bed, cupboard, a ceiling fan and additionally an AC! The delicious food was provided by Dany's wife and mother in law. Dany is leading a real modern, well equipped learning center. The teachers are very friendly, hard working and have a great variety of methods - like Dany as well. Everything is well structured and the teachers take care that the children don't get bored and stay eager to learn. The center covers not only children's classes but also classes for junior senior high school pupils and adults, too. There are different levels to be found, from beginners up to IELTS level. So, by having this big variety the center also took care of that I at least never got bored😄 I was involved in joining all classes, mostly in collaboration with another teacher. At the end of my stay I gave some lessons on my own which was also very nice. The children (and older ones) were very handsome and interested in listening to stories of the "bule" = foreigner). I appriciate that the classes are quite small, from 1 (private class) up to 10 students which is the limit. I enjoyed spending time with the students and the beautiful and open minded teachers as well. We did some nice small trips together and over here I tried Durian for the first time☺️ Dany, family and teachers - thank you so much for providing me an awesome and unforgettable time I will cherish. I learnt a lot over here and I highly recommend this place!

Sia stayed with us for three months, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guest or helper. He contributed to a wide range of projects — from hands-on building and repairs to helping us plan and organize new ideas. He’s not only a hard worker but also exceptionally skilled and technically talented. He has a great eye for problem-solving and can quickly understand how to fix or improve things. He was great with our animals and provided care and love to them What stood out most was his initiative and creativity. He doesn’t just do what’s asked — he thinks things through, offers smart suggestions, and takes real pride in doing quality work. I’m confident he can handle any task he puts his mind to. Beyond the work, he’s become a true friend. He’s kind, thoughtful, and considerate, with a genuine care for people and the place he’s in. He brings positive energy and a calm, steady presence that makes living and working together easy and enjoyable. I can’t recommend him highly enough to any future hosts. You’ll be lucky to have him — both for the help he gives and the good company he brings. He was a great guest and is always welcome back here

Having Kristi with us was an absolute joy! From the moment she arrived, she fit right into our little family and brought such a wonderful spirit of curiosity, kindness, and hard work. Despite the labor-intensive nature of the tasks, Kristi approached every job with enthusiasm and care — whether it was clearing, planting, or helping out around the house. She showed a deep appreciation for the land, the people, and the rhythm of farm life, and it was inspiring to see how quickly she embraced it all. We’ll miss her morning walks through the hills, her laughter during the nightly card games, and the positive energy she shared with everyone. Kristi, thank you for being such a thoughtful, cheerful, and hardworking volunteer. You left a lasting mark on our farm and our hearts — we hope to welcome you back anytime! 💚

Hello travelers! I stayed with Jim & Kathi for two weeks in October, and I definitely have good memories of this time! They are both so nice, and I felt very comfortable and welcome from the very first moment. I was welcomed so warmly. Now to the work: I mostly helped Jim outside in their large, beautiful garden. The tasks usually involved things like weeding, cutting plants, and make everything ready for winter. I learned a lot of new things during my time there and saw what it is like to live completely surrounded b nature. Jim and Kathi took me to a few things in my free time, like a concert, watching the salmons or a hike. If you stay there, you will enjoy truly delicious and healthy food with things from their own garden. I already miss it a lot! :( Ask Jim for a salmon sandwich for lunch - it's so so good!! I really enjoyed the series evenings with tea and Kathi's delicious cookies! We had a lot of great conversations and they are so nice people! In the end I can say that I can definitely recommend the workaway and would come back anytime. I'm very happy about the chance to get to know them and I wish you the best! Sarah :)

Charlotte and Victor were a total pleasure to host. They were always up to help with anything asked. Their sense of humour and fun nature fit well into our household. Charlotte is an amazing, creative cook , her food was terrific. If you get a chance to host them you will not be sorry. I wish them all the best on their journey and hope to catch up with them again. 👍😂

We spent a week with Susan, Jerome, Pia, Ludo, and their fur family. It was our very first experience with workaway and house sitting, and we couldn't have asked for anything better! We were made to feel very welcome. Their place is beautiful and we loved every moment we spent with them. Susan was very accommodating in welcoming us, even though our dates didn't match up at first! She was very kind to us, always patiently explaining everything and giving us good advice when we were buying our van. Jerome is also very kind, funny, and always ready to discuss interesting topics during meals. We also loved spending time with Pia who is so interesting, talkative, and passionate about horses, as well as with Ludo, a very cool, curious young boy who is super skilled on his bike and never hesitated to play with us! The whole family was very patient with our sometimes hesitant English, which we really appreciated! And how could we not mention all their animals, each one more adorable than the last. It was a pleasure to take care of them. A special mention to Fergus, whom we miss very much! Our accommodation, separate from the house, was very comfortable and cozy. And the work was fair, we mainly did weeding and helped where we could! Thank you again for everything. We would have loved to stay longer and hope to see you again! See you !! :)

I'd like to thank Ms. Sima, who came to visit us after looking at the photos on our profile and becoming curious about our farm. Ms. Sima finds happiness in cooking and doing housework. She transforms the landscape of her surroundings. She's very organized and talkative, loves to chat, and is also a researcher and curious traveler. I'd love to welcome her back to our farm and work together. I'd like to reiterate that we'd be delighted if she came to visit again. Nuri
