Meeting Shinji and taking part in the everyday life in the inn was an amazing experience. There's a lot to do there but it's always nice to do it with him, and the place is amazingly beautiful, the house and the landscape. Shinji love to share his knowledge and it was a really interesting and enriching experience to help him, especially the cooking! I've also met great people thanks to him. Thanks for everything and I hope to see you again soon!

Dear Pietro and Leo, thank you so much for coming back to us. You are two really fun and lovely guys, and it was such a pleasure to spend time together, laughing a lot and enjoying every moment. Even if you are very young, you showed a big willingness to learn and worked very well, taking care of every task with commitment. I especially appreciated how you also handled more technical things, like fixing the water issues in the volunteer living room. Even though it was new for you, once explained, you went straight to it with great initiative and energy. You brought such a happy and playful energy to the group, and I also valued a lot the effort you put into preparing the common meals. I know it was not something you were used to doing, but I could really see how much care you put into trying to cook something tasty for everyone. That meant a lot. I also loved seeing how you immersed yourselves into surfing with dedication while always respecting the working hours here. I am sure we will see each other again, and even if I was sad to see you leave, I wish you all the best for this sabbatical year you are living. I can warmly recommend both of you as volunteers to anyone. You will be lucky to host them.

Wonderful! Fantastic place, with a healing spirit! I highly recommend the place to anyone who likes a beautiful, quiet, simple and charming stay where you integrate with natures rhythm in a wonderful way. I love it 🙏. As an added benefit, the community around the place is also very welcoming and I had some wonderful evenings in the nearby shop, where people gathered after work to have dinner and a chat. I tasted many traditional and delicious Thai-dishes and most importantly had wonderful meetings 🙏 - I felt very inspired, welcomed and appreciated. I stayed at Noks place for 11 days. Nok is a great host. She was not at the site herself, but I got all the information I needed to feel welcomed, safe and able to contribute and when there were questions and problems she was easy to reach on WhatsApp. Furthermore, her mom also lives close by and she was always very kind and helpful. The work-tasks requested were meaningfull, balanced and durable. I would estimate I worked around 2-4 hours or day, but it was flexible. I finished my "committed task" relatively fast and there was time for more, which was nice. During my stay I did gardening, organizing stuff in the area, gathering plastic, designing and building a container for water bottles. For me it really made sense to help out with this great project Nok is creating and will definitely try to come back again to this wonderful place!

Chantal Is a smart and ironic person, willing and curios. She help us to iron the huge quantity of tableclothes and towels for the agriturismo ' s guests, She was very fast. She also can speak very well italian (between many other languages) and She was for few days also a good company for my mum and made her laugh a lot.

Wonderful experience with Ismael – authentic, friendly, and a taste of real Malaysia. Our stay with Ismael was a truly great experience! He is an incredibly kind and welcoming host who made us feel at home right away. The accommodation is simple but very nice and comfortable – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. One of the highlights was drinking fresh coconuts from the trees on the property – such a treat! Our main task was to take apart an old wooden hut. The work was physical but fair, and we enjoyed being outdoors and doing something hands-on together. The area has a lot to offer, but since the homestay is quite rural, having a scooter is definitely recommended. We managed to rent one privately for 300 RM per week, which worked perfectly. Ask the neighbor named Ejan for his scooter. What makes this place really special is the connection with the locals. We were invited several times to eat with local families and got a wonderful insight into Malaysian life and culture. The town has very few tourists, which makes the experience even more authentic and genuine. Overall, we had a fantastic time full of warm encounters and meaningful experiences. We can absolutely recommend Ismael’s homestay to anyone who wants to experience real Malaysia!

This is a beautiful project located in a stunning little Portuguese village nearby Nazaré. For me the two weeks felt like a dream because for the first time in my life I could focus on movement and creation from morning to night, with beautiful people and nature around. We spent the two weeks preparing a 15 min performance part of an Opera, choreographing and rehearsing by day, lighting fire by night, meeting the crew of the show. A typical day would start by morning rehearsals, then an hour of gardening, a delicious meal cooked by Flame or volunteers. In the afternoon with Gaia the other volunteer we would practice poi and dance at the riverbeach nearby. Evening we would go to the park to light and practice fire. On the week end we had the chance to enjoy the beach in Nazaré. The show was held in a beautiful bullring in Nazaré, we also took a video of our performance with a drone. I had no prior experience in fire arts, and in only two weeks, I was there on the stage performing in front of a big audience. This experience really made me believe in myself and my dreams to become a professional performer and create my own shows. I am forever grateful of this experience and all the inspiring people I have met throught it. Thank you xx

Maryla & Goran welcomed not only us, but also the three abandoned puppies we found on the street during our bikepacking journey. We’ve never experienced such a feeling of knowing someone for a long time the moment you meet them. Staying at their place, surrounded by their 17 lovely dogs and 5 adorable cats, was far beyond just a volunteering experience. It really felt like finding a family we never knew existed. ❤️ We can't thank you enough for everything Maryla & Goran! We miss you lots.

I stayed with Deirdre, PJ and the kids for two months in August and September 25, and I had the best time. The family welcomed me from the very beginning, and I immediately felt at home. During my stay, I spent most of my time minding the kids and/ or helping PJ on the farm, but they also gave me plenty of free time to explore the country. They gave me many great recommendations on what to see and do. The kids were a joy to look after; I loved playing and going on walks with Paddy, doing games with Amy, and chatting about soccer with Micheál. PJ is honestly the funniest guy ever, we were laughing and joking around all the time. I learned a lot about farm life, sheep shearing and other animals like cows or caterpillars🐛🧐 Deirdre is such a kind and warm person; she made me feel really comfortable and cared for. I also really enjoyed spending time with Joan and Patrick, the grandparents; they welcomed me into their home just like family too. I was really lucky with the weather and spent most of my free time exploring the beautiful nature around the Glen or Kenmare. I loved going to the nearby waterfall and taking walks through the countryside. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a family live in such a beautiful place! This is the perfect family for anyone who might want to improve their English, learn more about Irish culture, and experience real country life. You’ll feel at home right away. I hope I can come back soon to visit everyone again. I miss you all! 💚

We had an amazing 10 days with Neil, Vania, and Kai! Our main task was cleaning their future homeschooling property, just 5 km from their incredible self-built tiny house. We felt like part of the family right away and loved every moment. Playing and paragliding with Kai were also epic!!! Thank you, Neil for your patience, Vania for your warmth and both for your inspiration. We already miss you and can’t wait to be back! :)

My partner and I spent 3 weeks working here with Bruno and Barbara, and it was a truly amazing experience. Bruno, Barbara, their family, and the full-time staff on the farm are super welcoming and friendly. They always offered advice for things to do in the area, invited volunteers to local events, and offered rides into town when they were headed that way. We enjoyed getting to know them, hearing their stories, and experiencing the special community that has been created here. The farm itself is absolutely beautiful, we got the chance to witness baby geese being born in the pond in front of the volunteer house, time with their sweet dogs, hot days by the pool, and green parrots constantly flying around the property. During our time, we helped support a 3-day corporate retreat (serving, bartending, cleaning), helped with tasks in the kitchen (dishes), learned how to make shrubs (a local drink/mixture), gardened, cleaned certain areas of the property, and worked on a larger chicken coop project (construction, digging, etc.). We lived in a house with other workaway volunteers who made our time even more memorable and special. Bruno provided weekly groceries (lots of fruits, veggies & basics like rice, tapioca, pasta, etc.) - we didn't expect much from the food, but our expectations were exceeded. The volunteers typically shared 1 meal a day together, rotating who cooked. Volunteering here is a great way to experience Brazil, meet new people, and contribute to a fantastic community that has been built by Bruno and Barbara. We would highly recommend this experience!

Eliete was a fantastic workaway we harvest the olives toghether She was respectful, polite, and a hard worker. She learns very quickly, and it's nice and interesting to spend time with her.

The experience with Natalie, Jason, Ella and Kayla has been absolutely great. They are a fantastic family, very adaptable and flexible, very nice and easy to live with. We were sharing our home, which could have been complicated, but it turned into being very simple and convenient. They were very delicate and would offer space when needed and also lots of time together, which we strongly appreciated. Their kids are remarkable, both of them very smart, fun and well-educated, so it's been an authentic pleasure having them at home. They blended perfectly with our own boys and the 4 of them had great fun together! They also love cooking, and they offered delicious desserts and treats almost every day! And further to that, they are all 4 hard workers. They helped us fix some things at home, and they did it super efficiently and with a very high quality standard. They were also very clean and helpful with daily chores. If you have them at home, don't forget to ask them to prepare burgers and the Christmas dinner! So, all in all, an excellent experience for our family that we'd definitely like to repeat. We hope to have the chance to see each other again!! Thanks for everything you've brought to us!

It has been such a good experience to welcome Sophia and Timon here.They stayed in my house for about one month and did a lot of things, especially in the garden: every work has been perfectly done, I was very happy. They cook very good vegan meals and it was nice to share some dinners with them. Most of the time I was very busy and since they are happy together, I let them cook and eat by themselves. The kitchen was always clean and everything was tidy (more than with me, maybe, ha ha!); Sophia and Timon are quiet, respectful and very nice, it was a pleasure to talk with them. Did I already say that I liked very much having them with me? ;-) Merci beaucoup Sophia et Timon, c'était une super expérience!

Yema is a wonderful person and worker. She is sweet and smily, punctual, always ready to work and proactive. She is interested in almost everything and eager to learn. She adapted perfectly to our rural environment. She is independent, warm and joyful. She loves to cook and bake and we could enjoy a perfect bread-making workshop. She also bakes the most delicious focaccie. During her stay we painted some old pieces of furniture that look now colourful and bright. We also scratched walls and floors on the basement, always combining with some work in the courtyard so we could enjoy the sun. Thank you Yema! The house looks better and better, ready to host artists and workers. Yema es maravillosa, como trabajadora y como persona. Es dulce y sonriente, puntual, siempre dispuesta a trabajar y proactiva. Le interesa casi todo y tiene muchas ganas de aprender. Se adaptó perfectamente a nuestro entorno rural. Es independiente, cálida y alegre. Le encanta cocinar y hacer pan, e incluso nos dio un taller de panadería fenomenal. También hace unas focaccias deliciosas. Durante su estancia, pintamos algunos muebles viejos que han quedado relucientes. También rascamos paredes y suelos del sótano, combinando siempre con algo de trabajo en el patio para disfrutar del sol. ¡Gracias, Yema! La casa cada vez está más bonita, lista para acoger a artistas y trabajadores.

We stayed one month as workawayers for Jane, Mellisa and Carlos and the experience was amazing from day one. All three of them are so welcoming and easy to speak with. We felt at home from the very beginning. The house, the plays, the village and the area around Hélette is wonderfull. Mellisa, Jane and Carlos were very flexible with working hours and the type of work to the given circumstances. No garden work on rainy days, no boring indoor work on sunny days and no physical work on sleepy days. And lots of inspiring, educational, fun and occasionally odd tasks. The food is amazing and in great abundance. We will indeed miss all of it! The house, the food, the village, the atmosphere and most of all the people. They will definitely hear from us in the near future!!

I stayed with Liran for 2 weeks in her beautiful home filled with love, humour, joy and friendship. As my first workaway experience I could not have asked for a better one! The work was fun, varied and I felt like a gained many skills! Liran made me feel so at home and we made beautiful memories, swimming in crystal waters, diner with friends , talking and looking after a puppy together! I would recommend this workaway to anyone who wants to have the most soul enriching, joyous time in a proper scenic Portuguese town. It has made such an impact on my life, I feel more than blessed to have had two weeks here! Thank you for showing me everything life has to offer !

Malin & Kielan were with me for 5 days and were a lovely couple. They worked very hard in my house & garden. Inside it was mainly cleaning and getting the house ready for an Open Home , outside it was painting the fence , cutting the hedge, water blasting driveway and patio, weed-eating all garden edges, and mowing. They were very social and friendly, getting to know the neighbours and joining in social activities. Dinners were relaxed and always accompanied by excellent conversation. They were very diligent & committed to getting the work done, but also easy going and flexible. I highly recommend Malin and Kielan to future hosts - they are very nice to have to stay and have a great work ethic!

A beautiful place with amazing people! I had a truly wonderul experience here and made many good connections. If you are looking for somewhere to be able to have both quiet time in nature and the opportunity to socialize and do fun activities with people, this is it! Thanks for everything!

My friend and I had the best time there. Jim and Anu understand the deal perfectly: They served us plenty of delicious, homemade food and offered us each a private room with a comfortable bed. As long as you can hold up your end of the bargain, wake up early and get to work before the day gets hot and pace yourself in order to complete the tasks at hand reasonably well, everyone will be happy. Jim and Anu have been hosting for a long time and know what constitutes a respectable amount of work for workawayers. The garden is beautiful and pleasant to be in and I found that my hosts were respectful of our downtime. I don't recommend you stay in your room too much, however, because Jim and Anu are lovely people, genuine as they get, and well worth getting to know. Thanks again for everything and I hope to see you again during my time in Oz! Thierry
