Está experiencia ha sido muy profunda, las prácticas que Valentina propone hacen un trabajo muy profundo y muy sutil dentro de tí y al final del viaje sentí que había cambiado mucho mi misma. Valentina es una mujer muy amable, sociable, poderosa y simple. Su hogar es maravilloso y lleno de buena energía. Ha sido un placer para mí cuidar ese hogar y los gatitos. Great couple who work well together...got on with jobs with out supervision and minimal description of what was needed..Dan is a big guy and can move mountains..good luck to them both in their travels

Zoe and Joe stayed with us for one week, which was the start of their one year travel. From the beginning we wished they had the time to stay longer! They are a lovely couple! Very kind, interested, homey, hard working, calm,... I can only say good things about them. They have made us some delicious meals (very good cooks!) and delicious apple pies. They have helped us in the garden, with the Saturday activity for people with a disability, in the household, making lots of chestnut jam and salsa verde,... It's really incredible how much of a help they were in just one week time. Our son Adan also loved them a lot :) I would highly recommend them to other hosts.

We had the pleasure to host Véronique for two weeks in September. Although we do enjoy the energy and discussions with the usually-way-younger-than-us volunteers, it was a pleasant change to share the daily life and conversations with someone of our own generation but of different background. Véronique had no prior experience of farm life or animals, but she was very adaptable and always eager to learn and experience new things. She had no hesitations or fears neither of animals nor of dirty work like mocking the horse boxes or turning soil in the garden. She was always ready to follow Hanna to the forest to forage mushrooms and berries. Véronique participated in the daily animal care, did a lot of gardening work, helped out in granny’s household and garden, cleaned here and there, most notably our old sauna. During Véronique’s stay, the kitchen was always spotless and arranged, and the laundry nicely folded – a special treat well appreciated but not that often experienced here. And she spoiled us several times with her excellent cooking - another special pleasure! Véronique is curious for life, new experiences and information, and speaks many languages. She was very interested in learning of Finnish culture, way of life, cooking and even the language. We will remember many enjoyable discussions and moments with her. Hoping to see her again – which might not be totally improbable, given her enthusiasm for Finland!

Mahdi ! What an AMAZING human !!! Mahdi didn’t just get stuck in with the work ( and do it so well ) he really mixed so well with all the coordinators and volunteers. And he’s amazing at taking videos so we can share what we do with other people. Brilliant volunteer - we were all really sad he had to leave for other exciting Workaway adventures. We will happily have him come back whenever he can . Superstar ⭐️

We got to stay with Sandra and DB for 12 days and felt completely at home. We repaired the greenhouse, modified beds, harvested crops, weeded, organized, and built a shed. Sandra is such a sweet soul an excellent cook and DB is a hoot with a lot of love in his heart for his family and friends. Both of them played music for us and had rich stories to tell. We really enjoyed their pace of life and calm energy. This experience was so easy and nourishing for us, being well balanced between work and down time. Sandra spoiled us with all of her homemade sweet treats and we also got to celebrate DB's 90th birthday while we were there. I (Riley) was really excited to learn from Sandra about herbs and their medicinal uses. I even got to make my first herbal tincture with Echinacea root. Definitely a memorable experience and worth the visit.

What a grand final for our first year on WorkAway. We were aiming for new vegetable beds to be ready before the next growing season. With the hands of Tomas and Oliver this was checked of the to do list within a week. And then... They had time left to do more digging... We enjoyed keeping their engines running. As in... We loved sharing the meals together. At this time of year this was mostly in the sun for lunch. Next to the stufe in the evening. We enjoyed the company of these two outdoor, mountain people. We could both be; in good conversations or just in silence. Also playing some card games was part of the exchange. Tomas and Oliver respected the time we needed to be a family and/or work on our online activities. In conclusion: Overall a very good experience with these two energetic, calm and friendly young men. If they'd send you an WA-request. No need to hesitate. You know you'll be having some happy and grateful, working hands and open-minded brains. Succes Tomas and Oliver. Thanks for staying with us. And making such a big change. Maybe we'll meet again someday.

I worked here for a month in October and it was an overall great experience for me. The work is very important and impactful and that becomes evident from the first day! the communication and organisation is on point. This was a very rewarding experience for me. It is quite sad to see the state of things for refugees, but it is rewarding to see that NGOs come together to help and support people, and the impact it has on their lives. I made some friends for life here and I will take any chance I have to come back!

Gabriele! A wonderful host: kind, considerate, inspiring, passionate, a great musician, beautiful pizzas, fulfilling work, many conversations, good connection, fun!! We spent three days in Gabriele's hilltop world and had the best first Workaway experience we could have wished for. It is a very special place and we felt very welcome and appreciated there. Many thanks and we hope to meet again soon!

Tuve la suerte de conocer Little India y quedarme allí con Jimena y otro voluntario, Rodri, durante 10 días. Jime es una mujer súper empática, acogedora, presente y atenta. Tuve la oportunidad de participar en una de sus clases de yoga y fue muy bonito; también compartimos charlas profundas e interesantes. El trabajo consistió en restaurar unas ventanas, lijarlas y pintarlas, además de algunas tareas de jardinería. Siempre estuvo disponible, y Rodri también fue de gran ayuda. Es un lugar hermoso, con una energía preciosa y mucha paz. Ha sido un placer poder compartir estos momentos.

She was a great volunteer; easygoing, respectful, and always ready to help when needed. She quickly adapted to our conditions and understood how things work here without needing much guidance. Communication with her was smooth and she fit in well with everyone. We appreciated her effort and would gladly host her again anytime. Hope to see you again Maria.

Clem was great during our stay. We had everything we needed, and the accommodations were very nice and comfortable. There’s still a lot to be done around the house, and Clem needs people who are truly interested in helping. Chloe and Andy are wonderful volunteers! They came well-prepared with fun and creative lesson plans. Their teaching was full of energy and made the children very engaged. They organized many enjoyable activities that helped the kids learn happily. The students really liked them and always looked forward to their classes. I truly appreciate their help and highly recommend them to any host! Wish you both all the best! 🌟

Mahlia and Bruno were a joy to have! They were eager to learn new skills, communicated clearing and fun to talk with and learn things from. We thoroughly enjoyed their company as did our kids. We would highly recommend them to any work away host!

My 10 days here were truly unforgettable — not only because of the beautiful castle on the hill, but above all because of Elisa’s big heart. 💕 Even though my English and Italian are limited, she and her partner Francesco welcomed me with so much kindness and laughter. We shared wonderful days together — painting, building shelves, cooking delicious veggie meals, celebrating birthdays, and enjoying time with her lovely friends and family. And of course, little Gianna the cat will always stay in my heart! 🐈‍⬛ Highly recommended for those who love nature, creativity, and history. It was really, really fun!! 😆✨

C'était parfait ! Hiranya et Shreyas sont des personnes d'une grande humanité : généreux, humbles et conviviaux. Nous avons passés de très bons moments avec chez nous, ils nous ont beaucoup aidés dans les travaux et ne se sont jamais plaints au contraire. Ils se sont très bien adaptés à la vie et ont toujours fait en sorte que tout se passe bien. On s'est régalés grâce à leur cuisine et ils étaient toujours de bonne humeur, malgré la maladie !! On ne peut que les recommander vivement et merci encore pour tout !! bon voyage jusqu'au Portugal ;)

We hosted Imry for about a month, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone considering hosting. Normally, we don’t host male Workawayers, but after a sudden last-minute cancellation, Imry was able to come to our home right away—and we’re so glad he did. He helped us on weekdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., taking care of our children from the time he picked up our eldest daughter from the bus until after dinner. Imry is a truly kind-hearted person who always smiles at the children, no matter what happens—and it comes so naturally to him. He is also very attentive and aware when caring for our two-year-old. For example, when the children play under the table, he gently places his hand above their heads so they won’t bump it, and when they jump on the sofa, he holds their hands to keep them safe. What I appreciate most about Imry is that he never treats children as just children. He meets them at eye level, shares in their joy, and turns everyday moments into opportunities for learning. Every evening when I came home, he would happily tell me, “Today, Miku and I made pancakes!” “Today, Miku and I started growing tomato seeds!” “Today, Miku and I played Daruma-san ga koronda!” He truly spent meaningful, joyful time with our eldest daughter each day. It’s rare to meet someone so young who has such a deep understanding of education—and who lives it so naturally and joyfully. Beyond childcare, Imry also helped with housework, cleaning, washing dishes, and even cooking—all with great care and skill. He’s incredibly smart too—he never lost a single match in our family’s favorite game, 3D Connect Four! If I have one regret, it’s that I fell asleep so quickly during the movie we watched together. Thank you so much, Imry. We’ll be waiting for you again next summer—when the tomatoes are ready to harvest! 🍅

Our first Workaway and such a blessing! We were embraced with open arms by Manoelle and Luca, so kind, sincere and beautiful people with souls deeper than the ocean and of course a cutie dog we fell in love with - Kena!💕 The area around here and the place itself is such a magical peaceful place, where you feel true love, we can imagine how great it is to have a vacation there! And of course our charming room with our own kitchen and bathroom having everything you might need. It was so cozy and authentic, we felt very good there! We will always remember our fun games, playing with Kena, all the trips together, magnificent dishes which made us feel that we were eating at the best restaurant, especially your truffle pasta and white lasagna - wow!😍 What discoveries! And your tiramisu! Mamma Mia!💘 The most gentle dessert on Earth! We are so grateful for all the help and support, for recommendations, lifehacks and cleaning training, for patience and understanding, for all the rides, treats and presents! And the day offs, which were too many, now we will have to return to work them out!😂 We didn’t expect to receive so much generousity in all the things! Thank you for making my Birthday so special and for making it to Ann, because she didn’t celebrate this year, it was so sweet of you, you wouldn’t stop touching our hearts and bringing more light in, we will always appreciate that! The work was diverse, from gardening to cleaning the rooms, to helping at a wedding. The property is big and it requires many tasks. It is physically demanding so you need to be fit. If the work was too hard we would tell Manoelle and she would give something else. Manoelle always asked if we were ok and tried to make the work as comfortable and easy as possible. She would create such a fun and chill atmosphere that you might forget that you’re not at home. Thanks to you we tried so many new things and saw new places, explored Umbria and Toscana, but the most important we got that mental reset we were looking for✨ Manoelle is a superwoman, so energetic, interesting, intelligent, strong, vibrant person, a true inspiration! We were so lucky to be chosen by you, a wonderful hard working and talented family that lives in an absolute harmony with themselves and others!🫶 During a very challenging time of our lives we were invited into your beautiful Universe to be welcomed with so much warmth and joy! It was our Italian fairytale we will never forget. Thank you for everything our Cari amici! Looking forward to meet you again!❤️
