I stayed with Kerstin and Andreas for almost four weeks and was made to feel very welcome. Their estate is a real haven of peace. If you need to be surrounded by nature and animals and watch a stunning sunset every evening, this is the place for you! Don't be afraid to work on all kinds of tasks, there is so much to do that you can't get bored! I sewed curtains, helped the gardener make wood chips, picked olives and nuts, painted walls, took care of horses and plants... For my first Workaway experience, it was perfect! Thank you Kerstin, Andreas, and Samuel for these wonderful weeks!

Wayne is the most joyful person I've ever met. He is always full of positive energy and his dog Evee was also very energetic and playful. He was renovating his house and at that time he was working on the deck. I mostly helped installing cable railing and sanding wood. Wayne and I had many things in common. We are both curry enthusiasts, we both love to see the sunrise and sunset. We cooked so many different kinds of curry and his curry was amazing! We went to many amazing places and saw sunrises and su sets together. He even took me to a beautiful island with his boat. Pender Island is such an interesting place where everything is about reusing and recycling. Wayne showed me a great secondhand store and a free store(a local recycling exchange), and I absolutely loved it. I even found a couple of really nice jackets for a great price. It’s been over a month since I left, and I miss the time I spent with Wayne and Evee so much. I’ll definitely come back someday.

Aurora is such a patient, caring teacher and her family is so wonderful. I loved the variety of tasks, making kimchi and tepache, painting and planting. Aurora always explained things fully and the work is varied and extremely fair. She also welcomed me to the beach, salsa dancing and truly amazing meals. If you're prepared for the heat and mosquitos and living a more paired down life in the woods you will learn so much and get an incredible experience. Mazunte is a beautiful spot, after work I would walk to the beach (about 20 mins down the road) and enjoy Mazunte.

Annika and Lars were the best first workawayers! We enjoyed their company and are thankful for the work they've done. Welcome back any time 🙂

I feel so incredibly fortunate to have met Colleen and stayed with her. Though the transition to remote living was jarring at the beginning, Colleen was welcoming, kind, and made me feel right at home. I found great solace in her company, and learned so much from her strength and wisdom. The work was enjoyable and her dogs and horses are absolutely lovely. I would 100% go back again if I get the opportunity to do so.

We stayed two weeks with Jack and his housemates. The atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly. The area is lovely and we even met the neighbours cow farm. We loved spending time in the attic room watching movies and cuddling with the cats Tarzan and Jane. We felt that we fit in well and helped to take care of household chores and garden. Jack is really thoughtfull and loves to share. We reccomend this place for people who like having time for morning routines, chitchatting in the kitchen and who have their own car to explore the area.

I spent about 1.5 months helping out at the animal sanctuary, and it was such a wonderful experience! The sanctuary is set in a beautiful location, and I stayed in a cozy caravan surrounded by nature, right next to the horse pastures. I was responsible for taking care of the horses, chickens, and cats, and I truly enjoyed it! The dogs were sweet too, and I loved petting them whenever I could. Irene is a kind and caring person, always ready to help if you have questions or need assistance. At the same time, she gave me the freedom to do things outside the sanctuary when I wanted. It was inspiring to see how much love she has for the animals and how passionately and devotedly she runs the sanctuary. The work only took about 2-3 hours a day, leaving the rest of the day free for yourself. You are mostly on your own here, so that’s something to keep in mind. I really enjoyed the experience and felt completely at ease! You can also have a chat with Irene or join her when she takes the dogs outside. If you love animals, peace, and nature, this is definitely the place for you!

This Workaway has truly been one of the best experiences of my life. I was teaching English to college students at the Attraction College, and it was such a rewarding and unforgettable experience. I absolutely loved everything about my time there the people, the culture and language exchange, the hospitality, the food, and even the weather! The students were so kind, optimistic, and motivated. They worked hard, studied with passion, and always showed so much respect and love. The teachers were also wonderful, supportive, friendly, and dedicated. Outside of class, we shared delicious meals together, went on walks, had fun conversations, and even enjoyed campfires under the stars. I also learned a lot about the local plants, flowers, animals, birds and traditions everyone was so generous in sharing their knowledge and culture. Unfortunately, near the end of my stay, I broke my ankle. But even then, everyone took amazing care of me. They made sure I was comfortable and supported while I recovered, and I ended up staying another week. Their kindness and compassion made me feel like part of their family. This experience has truly touched my heart. I’m leaving with wonderful memories, lifelong friendships, and a deep sense of gratitude. I can’t recommend this Workaway enough it really felt like home.

Staying at the hostel was an incredible experience! Alessandro and Pasquale have built something truly special , a place where both volunteers and guests instantly feel at home and part of a familiar community. I spent a month there in August, and it was the perfect balance between work and free time. The tasks were manageable, leaving plenty of room to explore the island, relax, and enjoy everything it has to offer. The hostel also organizes fun activities for volunteers and offers great discounts on surf lessons, board rentals, and local excursions. But what really makes stand out are the people. There’s an amazing sense of connection and family that you can feel from the very first day. I couldn’t recommend it more!! an unforgettable experience in an amazing place!

I ended up getting a very warm welcome and stay at my Workaway in Tuscany with Simonetta. There was another Workawayer from Taiwan there as well and we both had our own private rooms overlooking the most beautiful Tuscan sky I was picked at the train station by Simo, she very patiently communicated with me before I could finally decide on a date and reach her. It actually felt like I was with an old friend or family . She prepares the most beautiful u yummy food and feeds you like family . I helped ghee cleaning and arranging her kitchen, helping her with cooking or after cooking. She is really nice and took us to supermarket, we visited the beach couple of times, and to couple of small villages nearby It was always a treat to try and learn about her fermentation which she is very passionate about I not only learned warmth and generosity from me but also a few Italian recipes, in the end she very lovingly even packed some herbs from her garden for me It’s one of the bestesr Workaway experience I have had Thank you Simo and Piero and the lovely dogs and cats ) it was such a warm home away from home with work like being at home and helping out ) I also really enjoyed painting the cabinet ;) I would love to visit you again Love Parul

I spent a month working at the academy and living in San Vicente, and had a great experience. As others have said, the work is easy and enjoyable. There's a clear structure to the classes that anyone who speaks English fluently can follow, but you also have the autonomy to amend your classes as you see fit. If you're looking for a break from backpacking and want to try your hand at teaching, this is a great place to do that. You also have plenty of free time, which is great for speaking Spanish. The other teachers are very welcoming, and the students are very well behaved and polite. Everyone really appreciates you being there, and interacting with them is a joy. A highlight was my dinner with the teachers - I cooked traditional Indian food, which they were so grateful for and we had a really fun evening. San Vicente is a nice little town, and you basically have everything you need within 5-10 minutes walk. I'd recommend the impressive fully functioning CrossFit gym Vulkan fitness nearby if you enjoy working out. The town does seem a bit out of the way when you arrive initially, but once you figure out the bus system to el cruce onwards, it's easy to get to Guatemala City/Antigua on your days off. Finally, a huge thank you and the other teachers! I discovered a love for teaching, made some real friends here, so I'm very grateful for the opportunity 😊

We had an absolutely wonderful time with Aleno during his stay! He is one of those rare people who combine intelligence, sensitivity, humour, and generosity in such an effortless way. Aleno helped us enormously with our website — he learns fast, understands quickly what’s needed, and comes up with smart, creative solutions. He has a quick and curious mind, works independently, and is always ready to lend a hand wherever help is needed. On top of that, he’s simply a joy to be around: charming, kind, discreet, and full of positive energy. He lights up the room and brings out the best in people. Everyone loved having him here — guests, volunteers and staff alike. Aleno, thank you for everything you brought. We’ll miss your laughter and your warmth, and hope to see you again somewhere in the world! Highly, highly recommended to any host.

We stayed for two weeks at Flore's little paradise and although it was a short stay we managed to take the best from it. Flore picked us up from the train station and she always made sure that we were comfortable and OK with the work that was assigned to each of us. She's an energetic woman that puts everyone around her into action. The first week we worked on gardening tasks because she was away for work. During that week we were able to choose our eating/working/resting times as long as we worked the minimum 4hs per day. The second week was a bit different cause she had a project in mind and we all worked together to make it happen. The food was always very good, we're vegetarian and she ha no problem with our food restriction, she tried always to make the best vegetarian versions of dishes and we really appreciate that. Thanks again Flore for everything!

Your message truly touched my heart — I was deeply moved reading all these beautiful words! I must say, as much as I always try to do my best, I don’t think I deserve so many compliments. This time, more than ever, I truly wished for you to have a pause from your turbulent life in Ukraine, and I wanted you to have plenty of free time, more than usual, so that you could fully enjoy this precious break for yourselves. It was also a huge pleasure for me to spend time with you. You are two wonderful souls — kind, genuine, full of light — and I truly hope you’ll find a new and happy direction in your life, because you absolutely deserve it. Your help here was invaluable — you made such a difference with your energy, your positivity, and your hard work. You brought laughter and warmth, and we’ll never forget it. Luca and I often talk about you with so much affection, and of course Kena misses you too! 🐾 I really hope life brings us together again soon — maybe in Italy, or maybe in Turkey! Until then, I’m sending you all my love and the biggest hugs across the distance.

We had the most amazing experience staying with Anne, Harald, the kids and the two dogs. Spending time in their gorgeous home is something we will never forget. The views are incredible and so is the family! We enjoyed playing games, journaling, reading books and sharing stories in the evening. We even were treated to special birthday croissants for Grace's birthday! We helped out by clearing the orchard of fallen branches and trees from a nearby field - a easily manageable task. During the day we kept the dogs company, helping with toilet training the puppy, taking them on walks and having plenty of cuddles. We would absolutely recommend volunteering here. Thanks so much!

My partner Niklas and I worked with Oddbjørn as kayak guides for 4 months this summer. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had. Oddbjørn was super welcoming, friendly, and overall a great person. He was not always in the area, but we had great communication and he was always available when we had any questions or problems. If there was a slow week with tours, Oddbjørn made sure there was other work for us to do if we wanted to. He was also very flexible, so if we wanted to take a day off for a hike or something else, that was never a problem. The job was super fun, working outside in the amazing nature of the Norwegian fjords, and meeting guests from all over the world. You pick the guests up in Olden, take them out on the water and then make a fire and have a little bbq. Because of the great set-up of the tours, everyone was always super excited and loved the experience, which made it super easy for us! The Olden area is really beautiful. There are so many hikes and trips you can do there, you will never be bored! You can borrow the car, bike, and kayaks, which is super nice. We've had an amazing summer here and we will definitely be back, because it's one of our favourite areas in Norway now and we have so many amazing memories here. We are super grateful for the whole experience. It was such a pleasure to work for Oddbjørn. 100% recommend this workaway!

Patrizio was an amazing host! He is very respectful, easygoing, openminded and attentive to our needs during working hours. We did some work in his paradisiac garden before we started with the three day long olive harvest. It was a very meditative, intensive and satisfying work. In our free time Patrizio showed us some of his favorite places, such as pizzeria, pasticceria, beaches and Cisternino. The beds and his living room with the stove are very comfortable. Patrizio is a wonderful cook and makes always new creations from Italian to Indian dishes. We made movie nights where Bella, his sweet cat would always join us :) Thank you for this great time!

This hostel is a very nice place to live in Buenos Aires, very nicely placed in the city center and in a very safe neighborhood. During my stay, I was lucky enough to have a very nice group of volunteers to share shifts in the hostel and life outside the hostel. The place has a very cozy vibe and the owners Luca and Luigi are very understanding. The volunteering itself is quite chill, with shifts at the reception, at the bar and housekeeping tasks (change bedsheets and overall housekeeping). I spent a month there and could've stayed much longer!

I had a wonderful week staying with Penny and Peter. First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to them. They were both incredibly kind and friendly from the very beginning. Penny is such a gentle and warm-hearted person, yet when it came to work, especially the olive harvest, she was strong, reliable, and full of energy. She is also an amazing cook and taught me many delicious recipes. Every single dish she made was truly impressive and full of flavor. Peter is very knowledgeable and shared with me so much about history and culture. He is also incredibly energetic, even though he is more than fifty years older than me, he was far stronger and more active! Their dog and cat were also lovely and friendly, which made the stay feel even more like home. Miglionico, where they live, is a quiet rural village. I was a little surprised at first, but I soon realized how beautiful and special it is. It’s a historic town near the stunning city of Matera, with charming streets and breathtaking views. The local community there is warm and tightly connected, even though I don’t speak Italian, everyone welcomed me with kindness. I could easily feel their warmth through their smiles and gestures. The olive harvest was much harder work than I had imagined, but it turned out to be one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. Tasting the fresh olive oil made from the olives we picked together, especially on a simple salad, was unforgettable. I’m so happy to be able to take some home to Japan and share it with my family. Every single moment I spent there was inspiring and memorable. I truly cannot thank Penny and Peter enough for everything. It was an experience I will cherish forever.
