I have been a host with Workaway for about 10 years. Michael is in the top 1% of all my workawayers I have ever had. Michael is hard-working driven kind willing to pitch in to get a task done even if it means a little extra work. It’s a real pleasure to have someone that wants to learn as much as Michael does. Michael knows what it means to complete a task and take pride in his work. He’s conscious and present and even caught me making a few mistakes and that doesn’t happen very often. I have to catch myself Michael’s an exceptional human being and anyone who would have the opportunity to have him work for him volunteer or any capacity just be around him you’ll be lucky person. I could see Michael grow in in just the six weeks he was here thank you Michael for all the help. Good luck on your journey.

Che dire di Dina? Ti accoglie con il sorriso e ti lascia la casa come se tu fossi a casa tua. ,Dina è socievole e sorridente e si vede da lontano che ama la vita,la natura che la circonda e gli animali che la popolano,e pur non sapendo noi il francese e lei poco italiano siamo riusciti sempre a fare discorsi logici. Nei dintorni ci sono boschi solcati da sentieri spettacolari ricoperti di fumghi che abbiamo raccolto e mangiato e il lavoro del giardino e le pulizie di casa ti renderanno felice..grazie di tutto Dina e buonissima vita !! We found Rebbeckah very reliable and dedicated to every task that we requested from her. We also felt that she has great skills with children, she is great at keeping the limits and the rules, while playing and having fun, with the plus of making our kids speak English and improving their speaking skills. It was a great time that we had, we were very happy to have Rebbeckah with us!

Humeyra was my angel. From our very first video call, I felt a special connection with her. She is truly one of the greatest women I have ever met in my life. From the moment I arrived, she treated me like I was at home. My experience there was fantastic; it felt more like an enjoyable trip than a typical Workaway experience. There weren't many activities planned, but every moment was filled with joy, empathy, and love. We had wonderful conversations about various life topics, and now she is one of my closest friends. It's hard to put into words just how amazing she is. Additionally, I had a great day at her school, where I got to meet the adorable students she teaches. I hope all Workawayers have the chance to meet someone like her. Humeyra, I love you and wish you all the best in life!

Imme was a great Workawayer, so it was lots of fun to work with her. She was very sociable, loved new contacts and was very well organised for a 18 year old girl. Best of all was for me, that she helped reorganise my toolsroom with lots of tools and material in there. So she sorted everything out and things were much better to find later on. Of course she also did a good job with caring for the sheep and hens, weeding and planting in the vegetable garden or strimming the meadow. She helped in cleaning the kitchen and set the table, so meals were always well prepared, joyfull and entertaining. By the way: Her English is just perfect. Of course, Imme is always very welcome to come back and I can recommend her very much to other hosts.

such a lovely family! I stayed for a month with them, where I was helping with the daily chores taking care of their garden, cleaning the chickens place, and taking care of the donkeys. My little helpers Liam and Luuk were adorable and good friends, they showed me their land and we had a great time together. if you want to clear your mind on a place that is really off the grid, you should visit them. Janine and Alwin are always taking care of you and they are like part of my family. I would happily come back.

Annika was an excellent member of the the team. She was incredibly trustworthy and reliable. Never missed a thing when it came to the horses. She is also a lovely person with a good character and easy going. Annika is welcome back anytime ! We can’t recommend her enough.

I stayed with Jan for 2 weeks, he is very welcoming and friendly, he know a lot of interesting stuff about everything! I felt welcomed and happy every single minutes, the work was light to be honest and fun, we chopped woods, did some cleaning, gardening and some works in the forest. Peanut butter always there and this is a super plus! I hope the best for you! I highly recommend this host!

Kat es una persona muy amable y agradable de tratar siempre dispuesta a ayudar y aprender nuevas cosas. Su ayuda fue muy variada desde trabajos físicos en el huerto, elaboración de bebidas y productos alimenticios para la venta… Siempre muy atenta a la limpieza y orden en los espacios comunes y privados. Una linda compañía a la hora de compartir en familia y con amigos. Una maravillosa bailarina de salsa y más. Totalmente recomendada 🥰

I spent three wonderful weeks at Marta’s place and it was an amazing experience! Marta is incredibly kind and welcoming, and her whole family is lovely. The work was creative, interesting, and never boring. Marta gives you a lot of freedom to choose what you want to do and encourages you to use your own ideas. The house is huge and beautiful, located on a hill and surrounded by nature, it's a perfect place if you enjoy peace, fresh air, and great views. I truly felt at home there and learned a lot. Thank you, Marta, for everything! I’ll always remember my time with you and your family.

Kathi, what nice days we had! We celebrated midsummer together with family and village. You took good care of hens, the dog, cheeps and especially Tissel (the cat)! And painting, planting, making carrot cake and and… Everything done in a good mood and a lot of chattering . We have practiced Swedish, German and English all days! Hope you had a good experience of Sweden! Welcome back to our new painted beautifully yellow house!

Ola was always happy and ready to work the hours we had decided together. We worked hard and did a lot of stuff! Every day with new things to do. Thank you for helping us with the painting of the house, garden work, do the fence for the sheep etc, and for your cooking. Your shoes are still waiting for you! Welcome back!

Miriam is super kind and helpful. Learning everything quick and easy. Always happy to do whatever is to be done. Thank you for your energy, for all help outside in orchard, in garden, out on fields, kindness to the animals, fetching food for dinner, etc Have a very nice time in Sweden and welcome back!

We just have had a great time with Luca at our home for 2 weeks. Luca helped us on many tasks: coating in traditional way the external wall of the house, cleaning the stables, lot of tasks in the garden like pruning bushes, mooving pieces of wood from a place to another, remolding the entrance of the property and also cleaning the house and so on. Luca is a hard worker very enthousiastic to do the job well, asks all the questions he needs to be sure and begin, then is autonomous and the job is perfectly well done! Furthermore, he is a soooo nice guy, always in a good mood, very easy to meet, always ready for an interesting talk and a good laugh! He fitted perfectly with our family with his kindness and presence. Thank you so much Luca for being with us , we wish you many lovely experiences on your path! Take care! Rosie and co

We are truly grateful that life brought Meryem into our lives. For nearly two months, we supported each other every day — learning, sharing, and laughing together. During this time, we never had a single problem; on the contrary, we got to know each other better with each passing day, and our bond grew even stronger. I spent almost every moment with Meryem, and every minute I shared with her was incredibly precious to me. Meryem is a respectful, meticulous, compassionate, and naturally positive person. I’ve learned so much from her — not only about English but also about life itself. Because Meryem, with her grace, wisdom, and sincerity, is truly an inspiring and exceptional person. With her advanced knowledge of English, she made every lesson both productive and enjoyable. We created a study plan together and followed it with great discipline. She always did her very best — and often even more than that. Her determination and patience are truly admirable. Meryem has not only been an English teacher but also a wonderful friend and companion on this journey. Thanks to her, learning has become not an obligation, but a joy. I feel so lucky to have her in my life. And I know that Meryem will always have a home and a loving family waiting for her here in Istanbul. 💕

I had a very good time at Julia's and Giovanni's place near Collecorvino. The farm is placed on a hill with a great view. They have lovely pets and a very kind family. We were a couple workawaywers helping them to harvest the olives. I recommend it very much! All the best, Christian

Carly was an exceptional volunteer at the hostel. During her stay, she brought incredible energy, creativity, and dedication to our team. She not only contributed to the daily operations but also took the initiative to formulate and lead hostel activities that brought guests together and enhanced the social atmosphere of the hostel. Her ability to connect with people, organize events, and maintain a positive attitude made a lasting impact on both our staff and guests. Carly demonstrated strong teamwork, communication, and leadership skills — always proactive, reliable, and full of good spirit. We truly appreciated her contribution to building the hostel’s community vibe, and we’d gladly welcome her back anytime. She would be an asset to any team or project she joins.

Mais ça a été une belle expérience de venir chez vous :) la petite famille est vraiment trop chou, tous à leur manière et ont une très belle énergie ! On a même eu droit à une caravane entiere quand on est venu, entourée de ce beau décor !! L'endroit n'est pas hyper accessible, c'est sûr mais Aguilas (la petit ville la plus proche)n'est pas trop trop loin en voiture, si on cherche l'isolement dans la nature c'est top! Merci pour l'accueil 🙏🙏 à bientôt j'espère et merci pour les chouettes échanges qu'on a eu !!!

My experience at Tim's place was a fantastic time! I stayed for 6 weeks and learned a variety of new skills and was treated very well. Some things we did were: split wood, clear brush, dig a trench for the water line, transplant some Cedar trees, set up a cat feeder, put up an electric wire fence, changed the oil on a car, and a variety of little tasks here and there. Tim is very knowledgeable on a wide variety of different topics! We also visited the Redwoods and I never could've imagined how big trees could get, it was like I walked into a fantasy book with dwarfs and fairies! I had never done any of these things before, but I was willing to learn and Tim was very willing, and very happy, to teach! Tim is a great communicator and has lots of stories of traveling all around the world that are a pleasure to listen to and has inspired me to travel more and experience more that life has to offer. I came to work hard, develop my skills, and experience a different way of living; Tim understood that and I've rarely felt as appreciated as how Tim treated me for the time I was there. Thank you Tim! I had a wonderful time and I'm glad I had you as my first Workaway because you've eased so many of my worries about this site, traveling, and staying in a place so far away from home.
