What a lovely two weeks with Jasmin, Toni, and the boys here at the farm! Everything was just as described and I am sad to have said goodbye as I am onto the next adventure (or moreso, see you later). Jasmin was a lovely host, always making sure I had whatever I needed and that my experience was positive :) I only wish I spoke German to have been able to connect better with the boys, but even without sharing a language I still felt attached to them after my stay. It was really nice being a part of the family. As for the work, there were several projects to help with and I mostly ended up doing painting around the house, which was very enjoyable for me. I also cooked lunch most days and did some cleaning here and there. I also very much enjoyed taking Cita on our daily walks! The hours were fair and nothing is too difficult! The house is very nice, and it was great to have my own room. The weekends are free to explore the area or make trips to other parts of the country! Jasmin and Toni could also help with suggestions. I can definitely recommend this family, and I hope to return someday.

My first experience was simply perfect, largely thanks to the M family and Corfu. I was supposed to stay for 3 weeks, I finally stayed for 1 and a half months. I was able to work with Andy in the garden who taught me many, many things by trusting me on assigned tasks while working with music. I was also able to take care of the family’s goofy (and spoiled :)) animals in a center by the edge in an idyllic lake. The food was absolutely divine and adapted to my vegetarian diet. Andy and Sarah were extremely accommodating, which allowed me to largely visit this magnificent island. Thank you again for everything, I would come back !!

I have been here for over a month in August, and I miss it so much! I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to take a break — just for some time — from stress, office life, and the everyday routine: visit this place! This place can give you so much. You learn to see the world from a different perspective, to respect nature, and to work with what it gives you. You can meet people from all around the world, connect with them, experience great cultural exchange, and even make real friends. Olli and Sari are such wonderful people. Olli is there most of the time and makes sure you always have something to do, but he also makes sure you don’t work too much. He’s always happy to tell you what to visit (and what not to visit ;)) in your free time or to share some language knowledge. Sari is usually there on weekends, but she’s incredibly kind and always has an ear for you. Both of them truly appreciate what you do for them — they give you an open hand to try new things and are always happy to explore something new themselves. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience! And thanks to all members of the Ots-Team — hope to see you again soon. Ots, Annelu

We spent 3 incredible weeks in this beautiful place with Jenny, Freddy and their beautiful family. Since. The first moment we felt welcome starting with Jenny's delicious food😚 we had the happiness of enjoying a few days her beautiful little house with pool 🥰 we helped in her incredible project of the renovation of the old hotel and we collected olives, 🫒 we could taste the delicious oil and of course we visited the King's path you can't miss it. There are also beautiful places if you like hiking 🥾 🫠 thank you Jenny and Freddy for making those 3 weeks an unforgettable memory, I hope to return soon and help finish your wonderful project. A huge hug.

Ashlee was a fantastic Workawayer and fitted right in to my sometimes very daft household. She was great company and looked after Dougal so well. He had a problem with his paws while she was with us, so every day she cleaned his paws and gave them a massage as well as lots of cuddles. Ashlee, come back anytime!!!!!

Simon stayed with us for about two weeks, and it was a pleasure having him here. He’s a quiet and kind person, with his own calm daily rhythm and always some nice music playing in the background. He was always willing to help, and together we got several small garden projects done — building a stone path, pruning and removing dead branches (we even had to battle a few thorns!) Helped with the care and feeding the cats, which they really appreciated! A true city boy who gave his best on the land :) Thanks, Simon — wishing you all the best on your next adventures!

Marlene was a fantastic addition to our Art Center team. She arrived every day full of positive energy and dedication, which was inspiring to both our staff and visitors. Marlene quickly built excellent rapport with everyone she interacted with, radiating a genuinely good energy that made her a pleasure to work alongside. She efficiently and enthusiastically fulfilled all required tasks, including conducting insightful guided tours, warmly welcoming all visitors, and actively contributing to keeping the space organized and inviting. A unique highlight was her ability to conduct guided tours directly in German. This was a great asset, making our center immediately more accessible and welcoming for our German and Austrian visitors, adding a special layer of service that truly stood out. We are extremely grateful for her hard work and the unique value she brought to the center. We wish her the very best in her future endeavors!

Andrea has proven to be an amazing volunteer and an incredible person. She connected with our entire team and all the other volunteers almost immediately, making her very easy to work alongside. She fulfilled all required tasks: conducting guided tours, welcoming visitors, learning about the Mongolian script, and keeping the space organized. All with great positive energy! Her peaceful demeanor made her presence very calming. She integrated seamlessly into our work environment, demonstrating excellent skills for thriving in a multicultural setting; her open-minded nature and genuine curiosity made her an ideal fit for our NGO. Beyond her core duties, Andrea demonstrated excellent time management skills, justly sharing shifts with others, and maintaining great communication. We were especially impressed by her initiative on additional tasks, such as creating an advanced exhibition entrance tracker in Excel and generously cooking and DJing for our team's evening events. As a talented artist herself, she brought a valuable perspective to our center. Andrea’s blend of positive attitude, reliable execution, and impressive initiative made her an invaluable member of our center. We sincerely thank her for her dedication!

Linda and Ian are the sweetest couple you could find. They are welcoming and kind, always ready to share their passions and memories from their wonderful life. The sudden "intrusions" of their fantastic grandchildren are always a joy, with their amusing mix of enthusiasm and shyness. Helping in building the house expansion has been really interesting and satisfying and also helping with the maintenance in the beautiful ecological home in Yanchep has been a pleasure. I really appreciated the good and healthy food that Linda prepares and enjoyed watching the film together and playing boardgames after dinner, I truly felt part of the family.

Thanks Irfan, Sinem and Ruzgar for a wonderful 3 weeks. It was the first time in a long time I was able to really rest, with amazing food and therapeutic work. It felt great to see the process of the garden over the 3 weeks as we completely cleaned it and then began to replant! I also learned how to make and lay concrete for the chicken coop. During meals we enjoyed halloumi, turkish spinach, home made bean dishes, and lovely lentil rice. Fish night was also a highlight 😍. I loved taking the dogs for sunset walks and runs. Thanks Berfu and Mustafa also for taking us to the beach and kanaga festival! If your looking for a workaway to learn about permaculture, eat good food and escape into some peace for a while you should come here.

Ana proved to be a great volunteer at our Art Center during her two-week volunteer period. We especially commend her good communication skills and her naturally welcoming demeanor towards visitors. She proved to be a very quick learner, mastering her role rapidly and providing great guided tours. Her warm presence, genuine smile, and positive energy were infectious and represented our center exceptionally well. Ana also excelled at teamwork, easily collaborating with other volunteers to discuss and share shift responsibilities. It was an absolute pleasure having her on the team; she leaves a wonderful impression on everyone she meets, and we wish her all the best!

Andrea has proven to be a great volunteer. She is remarkably independent, demonstrates sharp attention to detail, and has great communication and organizational skills. Her level of personal time management and organization is truly astonishing. She successfully managed all her responsibilities at the Calligraphy Center, including greeting visitors, leading guided tours, and ensuring the space remained clean and welcoming. Over her almost two-month commitment, she gained significant knowledge about the history and practice of Mongolian calligraphy. Andrea excels at teamwork, readily discussing and sharing responsibilities with others. Her proactiveness stands out, a perfect example is how she meticulously planned and led a drawing workshop for local participants. Thank you, Andrea, for your significant contributions; we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

This was my first workaway experience, and I couldn't be happier. I even scheduled a second stay already before leaving, so that should be a sign of how much I appreciated my time on the farm and with John and Heidi. From the second I arrived I felt like family, and this feeling only got stronger during my stay. The work was adjusted to what I was interested in and to my capabilities, so nothing was too hard or challenging. John thought me so much about the way the garden works, the different fruit and vegetables growing there, and how to keep a sustainable garden. Heidi did so much to make sure I was comfortable, and her cooking is nothing short of amazing! I already miss them both, and I can't wait to go back for my second visit! Thank you so much for having me and for everything you thought me!

We had a great experience in Dahab at the mushroom farm! Hatem made us feel comfortable and at home from the second we arrived. Our workload was light since it was the start of the season, but we learned about mushroom inoculation and did several landscaping projects. Our daily routine was to water the garden, tidy up the yard and keep the house clean. Hatem checked in daily for different tasks and to stay in touch. We were so grateful for his kindness and recommendations for fun things to do in the area. Thank you, Hatem, we hope to see you again!

We had excellent communication with Hannah even before she arrived; she always responded to our messages. It was a wonderful experience having her in our volunteer group. She's a friendly person, always willing to help. She's cheerful and always smiling. She made many friends here and always participated in activities. She has a lot of energy and motivation to learn new things. We hope she does very well and that she'll be welcomed in many places where she'll be a great asset.

Milena and Paula stayed with us for about one and a half months and also took care of the farm for ten days while we were away. They did all their tasks very well and with great care — feeding the animals, cleaning the stables, working with the horses, sanding and painting wood, doing some painting, playing with the children, cooking, and more. They also took care of a little kitten that was brought to us. For several weeks, they even got up every three hours at night to feed it! Both were a big help, always responsible, friendly, and fun to be around. We would be very happy to welcome them back anytime!

Sean is a very talented and responsible young man whom I was privileged to host for more than three weeks. At times, I had six volunteers staying with me—a situation that could easily have overwhelmed me if not for him. He organized shopping and cooking, passed on house rules, took care of everyone’s needs, and supervised several projects. Always open to direction, he was highly motivated to create structure and order in several areas, diligently tackling physically demanding tasks without complaint. He radiated an inclusive spirit toward everyone, finding creative ways to spend our free afternoons together. Sean is pleasant to be with—understanding, funny, and very active. We played and shared music, competed in several matches of Padel, and he took us out on walks and surfing. If you’re looking for someone to trust and rely on, he is the perfect choice! Just make sure there’s enough pasta...

Benedetta è leggera come una piuma, le ore scivolano tra lavori, chiacchiere e silenzi che è un piacere. E' stata molto gentile anche a mettere a disposizione la sua macchina quando serviva e ad aiutare non solo me ma anche altre persone della mia cerchia di amicizie. Non ha la presunzione che ho riscontrato spesso in tanti medici ma continua ad essere aperta a nuove conoscenze e nuovi approcci, come dovrebbero fare le vere donne di scienza! Sarai una bravissima pediatra, spero che continueremo a scambiare i nostri saperi.

Helena was taking care of my house and my animals (which are 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 parrots and 1 goose) while I was away. I was already thinking of cancelling my holidays because my dogs caught a virus and were vomiting and I did not want to leave somebody else to clean up this mess, After I met Helena and she agreed to take care of the situation I knew its gonna be fine. Helena cooked chicken and rice for them in the 2 weeks while I was not here and gave them their medication from the vet. Now as I am home they both are healthy again and also my other animals are well fed and happy. Helena is a very reliable, responsible and thankful person. Out of a rating from 0-100 points I would give her 158 points because the house was a lot cleaner than it was before I left :) Thank you Helena and I hope you come again! All my best wishes to you!

Vielen Dank für die wundervollen 18 Tage, eine tolle Familie, ein wahnsinns Grundstück mit ursprünglichen Ecken incl. Hügelgräber. Ich durfte mir meine Arbeit aus einer Liste aussuchen und konnte mir meine Zeit frei einteilen, wurde mit zu Freunden/Bekannte genommen und erhielt einen Einblick in deren Leben. Ich habe die Zeit wirklich genossen, schön, urig, unkompliziert, vielen Dank. Servus Wilfried
