Matteo is a very smart and motivated young man. My parents and I enjoyed his stay and appreciate his help. He is very welcome back.

During two weeks with Åsa and Trygve, we learned so much about Norwegian life and culture, it was such a great experience. The meals were made with love and were absolutely delicious! They are kind, caring and welcoming people, and we felt at home from the first day. The tasks were simple, clear and always well explained. We really appreciated the nice conversations, and all the moments shared together. Thank you so much for everything, we will keep wonderful memories of our time with you. We definitely recommend Åsa and Trygve to any Workawayer!

I spontaneously decided to visit Tobias and his olive groves in Kalamata for five days and had a fantastic time! Tobias went out of his way to make sure I could see as much of the area as possible — he took me to the farmers’ market, the beach, hiking, and out for pita in the city. I really enjoyed working in the olive groves, especially because of the delicious food and the great conversations we had while working. I got to stay in a beautiful apartment with my own kitchen and bathroom and felt very comfortable there. I can highly recommend a Workaway here, and I’m sure I’ll come back myself. I’m very grateful for this experience!

What a cool couple! Sylvia and Santiago are lovely people, very easygoing, friendly and happy to help. It was like hosting close friends since the beginning. Communication was always clear and we shared lovely time together. They were always respectful and smiling and we had fun and quite interesting conversations. They are independent and happy to both enjoy company or their solo time. Their help was very appreciated. Both of them aren’t scared to put their effort in whatever you would like them to help you. So dear hosts, let me tell you: don’t hesitate. To meet them would only enrich your life!

Maria stayed with us a couple of weeks and she was both a massive help on any task as much as chatting and connecting about anything. She would quickly understand and start getting on. I can not recommend her enough to anyone who has the pleasure to spend time and work with her. She also got on very well with other people as much as be on her own and organize herself. Luckily we have a wide range of tasks, nature and people here to give her the environment where she can thrive and be. Happy to see her again :))

I helped Dolde one week with feeding the animals, cleaning the kitchen, making soup and playing the guitar, riding the horses and cleaning the yard from horse poo. Dolde and I got on really well and we had really good laughs. I so much appreciate how animal friendly she is allowing the horses to roam around the yard freely and allowing them to eat tasty grass outside the garden aswell. It has been a wonderful experience and I would love to return.

I spent two weeks living at Medeu Camp and volunteering for the Resort. It was a fantastic experience I would highly recommend to those who are considering traveling to Almaty and want to feel enriched by volunteering and get out of the city a bit. The tasks I completed varied, but all were simple enough to complete, and I received thorough instructions prior. A really special aspect of this workaway experience was connecting with the other volunteers and employees at the resort. They made the experience all the more fun and memorable. This was my first workaway and I am very grateful to Tal for hosting me. I hope to return to Medeu one day soon!!

I stayed for a week during the transition from autumn to winter. The time spent interacting with the people living in this community was truly fascinating. I undertook various tasks essential to life here: working in the fields, maintaining the composting toilet, cooking in the shared kitchen, and chopping firewood. The temperatures were cold enough that the wood-burning stove needed tending, which might prove challenging for those unfamiliar with its operation. Everyone welcomed me warmly, and I had a wonderful time!

Meeting you all and the experiences I had during my stay have truly become precious treasures. Despite the sudden contact, Rebecca and Christian welcomed me warmly and provided everything I needed. They gave me a spacious, comfortable room, meals, tea during breaks from work, and even lent me work clothes I could get dirty. I don't speak German and I'm not particularly adept at communicating in English either, but I didn't feel too inconvenienced by life here. (For me, anyway!) The work here varied: cleaning furniture, harvesting apples and making juice, mending clothes, and so on. I think you can choose tasks that suit your own strengths. I also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the children – it was a real favourite time. I look forward to seeing you all again!

Such a lovely friend to have. We wish we could have had more time together as a team. Enrique was a great help to our project and everyone got along with him very well! He was helpful, proactive and showed initiative when it came to our schedule. He was fun and friendly and we hope to have him back again one day!

I spent the whole season (april - september) in 2025, and it was absolutely fantastic! The place is beautiful and full of potential, regarding activities as well as encounters. the work was never too hard and very flexible. Johanna is a very sweet person that will make sure to make you feel home and welcomed. My dogs were also very happy to stay there, and with the lake just next to the campsite, you can enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery right next door! If you get the chance to experience the place, you'll be a lucky and happy workawayer ! I can only recommend it! thank you Johanna

I spend three wonderful weeks at Eugenios place and I already miss it. From the start he was very welcoming and helpful, and it is clear how much he cares for his volunteers, always making sure that we were comfortable with the work and had everything we need. The work was very varied, we both helped with weeding and fertilising the orange trees, readied the olive trees for harvest, painted the balcony railing and did lots of other small projects. The house is situated at the foot of the mountains and has a wonderful view of the ocean. The athmosphere is warm and relaxed where everything is taken one day at a time. During the afternoons we relaxed around the house, went to the beach or took a walk up the mountain. Eugenios friends are very outgoing and took care to include us regardless of our mediocre italian. We went to play volleyball, went for a hike in the mountains, had a pizza party, and they always made us feel welcome and we had lovely conversations in both italian, english and a mixture of both languages. His parents were the kindest, spoiling us with delicous food, taking care that we were enjoying our stay and encouraging us to speak italian. I'm very grateful for their kindheated hospitality! It was the best experience I could wish for, and I already look forward to returning one day:))

We are so happy to have met Margherita! She was truly a gift to our family and by the end of our time together, we were very sad to see her go. Margherita worked mainly as a team with my oldest daughter and together they maintained our summer garden, all of our lawns, planted pumpkins, picked berries and looked after our animals. True superstars! Aside from her summer-time work, Margherita added a lot to our family. We enjoyed many meals together and had so many lovely moments in which Margherita was patient and kind and considerate to our whole family. We just feel so lucky to have had this experience with her and will treasure it always. Margherita always took great care in her work and was very reliable when communicating about schedules. She is also funny, kind, intuitive and incredibly helpful and we would of course recommend her for any work away experience!

If you love nature, quiet landscapes and cheese this is the place for you ! I loved working at Marco and Vickie's, the property is very beautiful and the work engaging. I mainly helped with walking the goats which was great fun, looking after the veggie garden and preserving summers abundance and helping in the dairy when needed. Marco and Vickie eat 95% of their food from their land which is super impressive and the food delicious. They are very kind and welcoming, being there for the birth of their first child was so special ! I would definitely recommend working for them.

It is a special place 🥹💖 I feel in love with the shelter immediately. Originally I was supposed to stay only for six days but Jan and Carlen were so nice and they made it possible for me to stay for a whole month and get the best of this experience. I loved taking care of all the dogs, puppies and cats. It is a hard but so rewarding job. I am really grateful for the trust that I got to take care of a small kitten 💖 The nature around was really beautiful as well! The local volunteers took such good care of us. There is a beautiful international community that I am so grateful I could be part of for a little while. I will visit again for sure!

I spent a wonderful week with Julie at the farmhouse. The set up was exactly as described, rustic but so lovely with beautiful views of farmlands and forests around me. We bought food for the week at the start and shared cooking. I found the few hours of work a day work really enjoyable - helping with cleaning, moving firewood and some easy repairs . Julie was so welcoming and let me practice my mediocre French on her, took me for walks in the beautiful autumn forests and played board games with me in the evenings. This is such a wonderful experience for anyone who wants some peace and quiet and appreciates the outdoors. Thanks so much Julie!!!

Thera is great! Super creative and artistic; she is autonomous and a hard worker; and makes delicious food. Her smile is infectious and it she is easy to be around. Thera loves nature and took time to connect with the Quinta and the surrounding forest and river. Thera was a team player who did a lot of physically demanding work pulling out thick weeds and small trees to help us prepare for winter. Thera also helped a lot in the garden harvesting fruits from our summer work and make conservatives for the winter. She also did some wood work contributing to building a 2nd wood storage space next to the house. She loves to make things not just functional, but beautiful too. :) Thera was a joy to spend time with as well. From game nights, to engaging conversations while walking in nature, she doesn't shy away from tough questions and likes to dive down rabbit holes that challenge perspectives and outside-the-box thinking. She's open minded and easy to talk to. Thera left us a beautiful gift she created from an old piece of wood she found - she's very much an artist and creative. And, if you're lucky, she will give you the best message you've had in a looooong time! 😉 We're grateful for her contribution and the personal time we got to spend with her; very much looking forward to visiting her in the Netherlands or having her back on the Quinta!

Astrid reached out to us last minute; and after a quick video call we knew she would make a great fit. She arrived the next day and ready to work and contribute to the Quinta. Astrid is an astute listener and great communicator; she's warm and very easy to be around; and above all, she makes some insane cakes! 🤤 Astrid came knowing we had hard work to do to prepare for the winter and she tackled the work with care and enthusiasm. From pulling out small trees, pruning, pulling out bushes, helping harvest veggies from the garden, and making conservatives for the winter. Astrid worked very hard and with a great attitude, she did not need to be managed and put her love what she was doing. Especially when she using her imagination and backing skills to come up with new ways we could use fruits that were going to waste; for example , she used chestnuts from the land to make a tasty sweet spread, and the persimmons to make a bad ass cake Astrid was also someone you could easily live with and be around. Astrid is tidy and conscious of her surrounds and social spaces, and would put in the extra effort to make sure she left spaces better than she found them (we noticed 😉). And, Astrid doesn't force conversation but lets them manifest naturally (she's pleasantly easy to be around in silence with - which is a unique trait that's we find refreshing and nice!). Astrid is so easy to talk to because she really listens, she asks thoughtful and interesting questions, and is willing to be vulnerable and has humility which makes for authentic exchanges. Astrid is just a great human and person to be around! We're grateful for our time with Astrid and hope our paths cross again sometime in the future - she will surely be welcome back at the Quinta if she ever wants to return.
