I stayed for 10 days just after coming off of a summer season and was travelling east. I arrived in mid fall and it is absolutely stunning! The property itself is gorgeous, right on the lake where I got to stay in a cozy little bunkie listening to the waves at night. I worked in the kitchen/serving when the B&B was open and did odd jobs outdoors when it was closed for the season. Right from the start Desmond was kind, welcoming and made me feel completely at home. He is hardworking and it was super lovely spending time with him and helping with his multiple projects. This was such a beautiful place to stay and such a lovely experience. Thank you again Desmond

I had a really nice time with Laura and her family for a week in the middle of October. My only task was to weed the driveway, and Laura was very flexible with me as to what hours I worked and this was perfect for me as it allowed me to work remotely for several hours each day as well. She also generously gave me the day off when I wasn't expecting to have one so I could see more of the area and let me borrow her bike to go for a long ride. We had a lot of great conversations after dinner about the state of the nation, Croatia and Serbia, etc... all informative and very enjoyable for me. Laura was a gracious and generous host and I would definitely recommend staying with her if you want to see Donegal and its environs. Thanks Laura!

I stayed for 3 weeks during last summer at Vero's home, looking after Pimpie while she and Leo were on vacation. I must say that it was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. This was my first experience as a Workawayer and it couldn't have been better. Vero was more than a host - she has become a friend of mine. She is really loving, kind and friendly making me feel at home. Leo, her son, is one of the sweetest children I have ever known, so taking care of him occasionally was always a pleasure. About Pimpie, I must say I still think about him and I suppose I will do forever. He was the best adventure companion - always playful and affectionate. Without a doubt, I will never forget this experience and I remember it with all my heart.

Miguel Angel stayed with me for about ten days and it was a really beautiful time. He was thoughtful, independent and reliable in the ways he helped me declutter and organise every area that needed it. We made a beautiful friendship group with the guest that was sharing the house with us and we had beautiful memories, I wish we could've had an extra day for sightseeing together. I was dealing with physical pain during that time and I always felt supported by him, he's a caring person. I highly recommend him. I wish you always find good things in life Miguel Angel🤍

Wir haben Anne als eine neugierige, offene und gesellige Frau erlebt! Sie hat überall mit angepackt, wo es was zu tun gab und hat uns damit sehr geholfen. Lieben Dank dir dafür! Gleichzeitig konnte Anne für ihre Bedürfnisse einstehen und hat sich beispielsweise Zeit für sich und Erholung genommen, oder ihre Grenzen kommuniziert. Das hat uns gut gefallen und ist wichtig, wenn man in Gemeinschaft lebt.

Had a fantastic week in the heart of the bastide towns, taking care of the dogs and chickens, and keeping an eye on the sheep. Easy to manage, a luxurious gite to stay in, and Joram and Eli and the kids are a lovely family. Very stress free and good communication, easy to understand what we needed to do, and we had plenty of time to explore the area. A great experience.

The stay on the farm of Eugenio was my first experience with workaway and it was amazing. He was very welcoming and thoughtful. He and his family are very nice and even though I dont speak italian they always tried to connect with me. I met a lot of nice people. Eugenios friends, that were also very welcoming and open, and the other workawayers that stayed with me. There was always something you could do. We went on hikes, into the city and to the beach. But there was also enough time to relax and enjoy the calm of the farm. I will especially miss the dogs and the cats. Charlie and Molly are the cutest dogs ever and really like cuddles and attention. All in all, it was amazing and a really good first stay and I would recommend it to everyone that wants to work outside and experience italian life.

What a special place Lotte and Richard have created there! They're both so welcoming that I felt instantly at home. I knew I could trust Lotte and Richard straight away and felt that I could be my authentic self around them. We had many deep conversations and they flowed so easily. I showed up pretty spontaneously and was so happy to be able to stay and contribute to their little farm. The work was really diverse, which I appreciated. From pulling out trees and bushes, over making grape juice, to figuring out in a community effort how to best work with the tons of chestnuts - I learned a lot and had fun along the way. We cooked and ate together for lunch and dinner - everything home-made and from the own veggie garden as best possible. I already miss Lotte's cooking! I had a lovely room with a comfy bed and there is a common area in- and outdoors to hang out. Lotte and Richard go out of their way to make volunteers feel comfortable and at ease. I had an amazing time and will be happy to come back in the future!

We (a couple) were volunteering in this beautiful hostel for 2 weeks. Usually the duration is minimum 2 weeks, but there were volunteers that have been longer because it's a very nice vibe. The shifts are 4 hours of work per day, 5 days a week with 2 days off. Once per week is cleaning day for volunteers, that means cleaning the check-out room, changing sheets, cleaning bathroom/toilet and the floor. Elsa is the chief of cleaning she is very kind and gives you advice how to clean. Miguel is the hostel manager who has a great "attention to details" sense, he is in charge for daily business and taking care of the volunteers. Most of the time we worked at the reception for check-in and check-out the guests. We worked with Excel sheets and after our shifts we gave a handover to the next volunteer and sending a finacial picture to the whatsapp chat. The hostel got a gym to use, the beds are very comfortable and there is hot water for shower. On our days-off we could discover the town Pisac. The 4 hours work/per day is well handable. Thank you again Miguel and Elsa for your great organisation, we would do it again. Fully recommended.

I stayed 5 weeks with Denise and Vincent and I had a great time. The work was really varied and I learnt lots of new skills and tried tasks that I never did before. I was looked after really well a d the food was lovely. Don't hesitate to come here as it is a great experience and I will be back in 2026.

Esther, Daniel & Elena sind sehr offene und herzliche Menschen. Ich habe mich gleich wohl gefühlt, auch mit Lili, die Hauskatze & Julie, ein kleiner Hamster 😄 Das Haus und die Umgebung gefallen mir gut. Biel bietet eine bunte Kultur, ich hatte Glück zum 'first friday' dazusein, viel live Musik, offene Menschen, spezielle Läden, absolut sehenswert. Es ist klasse einiges mit dem Fahrrad zu erkunden. Bern, Murten und Solothurn sind nicht weit und auch sehr charmant. Ein weiteres Highlight ist Creux du Van, ein imposanter Canyon, einmal umgedreht erscheinen die schneebedeckten Alpen. Ich befand mich über den Wolken, einfach wunderbar. Bis bald wieder 😊

Me and my fiance were looking for a once in a lifetime experience and we surely found it here at Playa Blanca. Amanda was a gracious host who made getting there smooth and enjoyable. Take the Sansa flight! There is a full time tutor on property named Caroline who was a highlight of the trip and someone I now consider to be a dear friend. She helps you get settled and is amazing at showing you around and helping you get started with tutoring the two amazing kiddos. The work is organized and professional providing a regular schedule and plenty of free time. The property is beautiful and showcases a wide variety of plant life as well as an occasional sloth! Having access to the kayaks and paddle boards was a bonus for which we took full advantage of. I do strongly suggest water shoes if you plan to spend a lot of time at the extremely beautiful yet rocky beach. These were some of the nicest accommodations I have ever experienced with workaway and Jay seemed determined to continue to make them better. There are a couple popular airbnbs on property so if you are looking for a more secluded getaway I would look more into the off seasons. As a whole this was exactly what we were looking for and more and I can’t recommend it enough!

We spent two weeks in September working with Roberto and Diana in Ronda. Their house is majestic, and we really enjoyed spending our working time with such wonderful people. Roberto, who guided us throughout the stay, was incredibly friendly and kind. It was always easy to understand what needed to be done. Most of our work involved cement and wood — mainly DIY building projects. To sum up, it was the perfect way to start our first weeks in Spain with Roberto and Diana (and with Eragon, Arja, Lulu, and Quimbo as well!). A big thank you to all of them! Chiara, Raùl & Dino

Wir haben uns bei Dulce und Aleph sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Arbeit in der Natur war wunderbar. Ihr kleines Hostal ist noch im Aufbau und wirklich sehr gut durchdacht. Ein Ort der Ruhe und in der Natur. Die Touren mit Aleph zu den Cenoten sind einzigartig. Danke für die tolle gemeinsame Zeit. P.S. das Essen von Dulce ist erstklassig.
