I stayed and volunteered here for two weeks and had such a great experience! I helped Ya and May with cleaning the apartments, and also painted two gates and a wall at the hostel. The work was fair and enjoyable, and I had plenty of time to meet and chat with guests too. Cha Ren, Ya, and May were amazing to work with — so kind, easygoing, and welcoming. I quickly felt at home with them, and we shared many nice meals together. The atmosphere here is relaxed and friendly, and it really felt like being part of a family. Thank you for everything, Cha Ren, Ya, and May — I’ll definitely miss this place!

We had a truly lovely time with Soudeh. We got along very well and it was wonderful to discover how much we had in common culturally. She spent great quality time with our children and fully met our expectations. She also treated us to some delicious traditional dishes — her cooking was absolutely fantastic! It was a real pleasure having her with us, and we do hope our paths cross again in the future

I stayed at Nina's place for just over a week and had a wonderful time. I loved taking the dogs for long walks in the morning through the forest. I also enjoyed the other tasks like feeding the rabbits and chickens and cuddling the cutest puppies!Each dog had its own personality and loved to cuddle. The whole house has a really cozy atmosphere. The village is very peaceful and has just a few houses and cows, but it's easy to take a cab to Ansbach and go on a day trip to Nuremberg. l would definitely recommend staying here.

Dear, sweet, funny Hugi was generous to host me for a week with my van and dog even though a little off season. She made every effort to make sure I was comfortable and provided groceries and cooked, even when she was very busy with her wild life. I got to help clear some wild vines from climbing on the apple trees, dug up a strawberry field, carried reclaimed tiles for the roof and cleaned out recycled bottles for the Pure Pear Palinka. She took me to see the distillery where they make the Palinka by wood fire in copper vessels. I hope to return to see her lovely vineyard in all it's summer glory and to meet Hugi again to make some more memories of this peaceful and rural Ungarian slice of heaven.

Emily and Ashleigh spent with us almost one month and we had a great experience, they worked hard and they have been available to any kind of work we asked for. They also had great time with our babies and they enjoyed to spent time witn Emily and Ash. They are very good also with our dog. We had no complain in all our time togheter. Emily and Has also helped our friend spending one week with her, she was entusiastic about them. Very good experience! good luck guys!

It's been a wonderful experience spending the last few weeks at Natalie's farmhouse. Waking up every morning and seeing the Swiss Alps and the amazing nature around her home it's a beautiful experience that I am never gonna forget. She's so kind and always willing to help workawayers in any way she can to make them feel comfortable. Thank you for teaching me a lot of things . You're an amazing person with a traveling soul. P.S. Anja was a great volunteer; hardworking, enthusiastic, and always ready to help. She fit in easily with everyone, bringing a positive and social energy to our place. We truly appreciated her dedication and cheerful attitude. Highly recommended! ps: she makes great Clafoutis and she is an expert in baking naan bread ;-)

Beautiful experience. I had a great time at the farm. Most the job that i did was about farming, which i liked. I also helped cleaning the animal area, brushing the animals and playing with them. Nothing too difficult or too tough. I had a good time with the others volunteers and with Neha, our manager. The food is delicious and they have the best accommodation.

Jonas, Marla and Rike (Marlas sister) stayed for one month and it was an obviously overall wonderful experience. These three so young helpers took responsibility, worked hard, were tidy, creative, well organized, open minded, super team workers (they had had very advanced communication skills) and all this with a cheerfully mood and being more or less independent from our advices. I've put the skills on 4 Stars (only), because they are still young and had never done these things before- but they always were taking care to inform themselves before they started and then solved even really difficult new tasks brilliantly. But they had very good experience in taking responsibility for any household tasks (5*****here), took over without me needing to ask anything, saw what needed to be done and did it. They took responsibility for cooking, for cleaning, for fetching the water from the nearby fountain, for buying the needed food and so on. I could never had wished any more. Additionally they worked very hard on all the different tasks we asked them to do, as reparing little things, installing a little podest under a toilet, collecting the waste in the garden, planting new little plantlings and anything we needed help for. The two main projects they worked on was a beautiful mosaik for the floor of a 20 square meters room and building a roof for our front porch. Both have become beautiful and perfect parts of our house - and Jonas, Marla and Rike were very creative while planning the projects with our support, developing a beautiful design or, for the roof, well-thought-out plans, in order to then carry out the implementation almost completely independently. We are grateful to have had the chance to host these three wonderful beautiful and extremely helpfull young people and for the enrichment that their help was for our house - and we surely hope to have them back one day. Big big recommendation for any kind of help needed!!!

What a beautiful place🌞 It's a family project, and I'm so impressed with how they've transformed this place through plant art, permaculture, recycling, and a lot of creativity. It's a space that feels kind of exotic and jungle-like, but where you'll feel very comfortable. The place is big and has many nice rooms and a camping area on the third floor. They are working on a little vegetable garden, there are fruit trees, and a huge workshop because Edgar knows how to fix and build many things. It's located a little in a side barrier of Tingo, so it's more quiet but in the same time it’s not too far from the center. When I came here, Edgar was working and spending most of his time at another place they have om the countryside, where the family got some land. I've heard it's a wonderful place, and they also accept volunteers there! At the hostel, I was welcomed by Fabiana, who has a very with a very open and cheerful energy! She shared a lot of her knowledge about native plants and fruits with us. And she cooked us delicious vegetables typical of this area. Every day was different here. One day we helped in the garden, another day we painted the wall or helped in the kitchen for a buffet event, cleaning, organizing the space, spending time with the guests, or best of all, harvesting lots and lots of coconuts and processing them to make coconut milk 😋😋 Tingo Maria is truly a paradise; there's so much to see and experience around here. Thank you so much, Fabiana and Edgar, for your trust and for receiving us! I truly felt at home at the hostal! I feel like it wasn't just any volunteer work, but rather that I met some true friends here that I'll nit forget🥰 I wish you all the best, see you soon! ESPAÑOL: Que bonito bonito lugar! 🦋 Es un proyecto familiar y estoy muy impressionada como lo han transfromado este lugar gracias a la arte de plantas, permacultura, al recycle y gracias a una muy buena creatividad en un espacio que parece medio selvatico exotico pero donde te vas a sentir muy comodo. El lugar es grande y tiene muchos quartos bonitos y una zona camping en el 3 piso, tiene huerta, arboles de frutas, tiene un taller gigante por que Edgar sabe arreglar y construir muchas cosas. Es ubicado un poco en las afueras de Tingo y ahsi es mas tranquilo! Puedes disfrutar de los pajaros, colibris y mariposas. Igualmente no es tan lejos del centro. Quando vine aqui Edgar estaba trabajando y quedando se la mayoria del tiempo en otro lugar que tienen alejado en el campo donde tienen una tierra, he escuchado que es un lugar maravilloso silvestere y alla tambien reciben voluntariados! A mi en el hostal me recibio Fabiana que tiene una energia muy linda, alegre y abierta! Nos compartio mucho de su conocimiento sobre las plantas y frutas nativas. Y nos cocino verduras ricissimos typicas de esta zona. Cada dia fue differente aqui, un dia ayudamos en la huerta otro dia pintando la paret o ayudando en la cocina por un evento de un buffet, limpiando, organziando el espacio, pasar tiempo con los huespedes o lo mejor cosechando muchooos cocos y processarlos haciendo leche de coco 😋😋 Tingo Maria es un paraïso de verdad hay mucho que ver y conocer aca. Muchas gracias Fabiana y Edgar por su confianza y por recibirnos! Me sienti de verdad a casa en el hostal! I spent 4 wonderful weeks with Mandy, Pat, Tierra, the dogs and all the animals. This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't have picked better, it was like landing into a home and being welcomed with open arms. The whole family took me in as their own and it felt like I had a little sister for a month <3 Over four weeks I got to experience the Downer family's routine and every day was a little different. I enjoyed how I got to integrate into their routine and it worked for me. Future workawayers have to be aware though that the work hours aren't fixed and like I said earlier, every day was a bit different. Mandy and Pat were super helpful with giving me jobs to do and I learned tons about gardening! I was mesmerized and insipred by how much care they put into growing everything. I learned to bake bread from sour dough and ate so much honey I got a bit of a toothache xD I even got to say hi to the bees and help Mandy with them a bit! I enjoyed going down to feed the chickens and the ducks and feeding them worms while weeding around the garden. I miss Goldie the rooster and his sass <3 The food was fantastic and my vegetarian/vegan preference was no problem at all. We went fishing multiple times and I did eat fresh fish while I was there. The beach was so beautiful and I picked too many shells for me to keep on my travels haha! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me a home and letting me be myself and giving me a soft landing to my travels here in Aotearoa <3 I'm glad to say I'll be back to visit :)

Jennifer and Chi Lye are really welcoming, always eager to pass on their knowledge to us. We have learnt a lot about gardening and farming when we were here and had many new experiences. They even taught us how to bake sourdough bread! It was fun feeding the horses and catching the goat that alway tried to escape 😂 Thank you for entrusting us with your horses and Otis while you were away. We miss Otis already 😭

I stayed with Natalia and Eyal for 2 weeks and it was a great experience. What they've done in 9 years is amazing - the place is huge and so beautiful. There is always work to be done, but it was never too hard and there was also a lot of time to rest. Every day was different too, so you wouldn't get bored of the tasks: from raking to weeding to bamboo construction to serving meals at a retreat. The meals were very yummy too, and when a retreat came we got to eat with them. Also, the weather was amazing and the natural pool after a day of work was a treat haha! Don't forget to do yoga with Eyal as well. All in all I felt very welcomed. The only thing is that they don't provide food on weekend days off, but Natalia was very helpful with communicating with a restaurant for a delivery for me. Thank you so much again for everything!!! I will miss this place. // Me quedé con Natalia y Eyal durante 2 semanas y fue una experiencia maravillosa. Lo que han creado en 9 años es increíble: el lugar es enorme y precioso. Siempre hay trabajo que hacer, pero nunca fue demasiado difícil y también había mucho tiempo para descansar. Además, cada día era diferente, así que no te aburrías de las tareas: desde rastrillar y desmalezar hasta construir estructuras de bambú y servir comidas en un retiro. La comida estaba deliciosa, y ​​cuando había un retiro, comíamos con ellos. El clima también fue espectacular y la piscina natural después de un día de trabajo era divinaa jaja! No te olvides de hacer yoga con Eyal también. En resumen, me sentí muy bienvenido. Siri is one of the best people I have ever met in my lifeeeee!!! She always had the best intentions, making sure I had a wonderful stay: with the best food, comfortable bed and room and in general, making me feel like home. She always help with everything she can and give even more than it should be (thank you very much)🥲♥️ The children are very well-behaved, loving, and intelligent, and the classes are easy. Siri provides a schedule for the lessons or any activities she needs help with. She is very respectful of the working hours and always lets you know the topic or activity for the day in advance. I will always carry Siri in my heart because she is an exceptional woman and an amazing host. I feel very lucky to have been able to do my volunteer work with her. Her volunteer is beyond a volunteer is family!! I truly hope you also have the opportunity to experience that incredible place. Thank you so much, Siri, for everything. I wish you all the best in the world, and I hope you continue moving forward with all your projects and dreams. see you again :)

Thank you so much Lisa and Michael! We are so grateful for our time here! Lisa and Michael made us feel so welcome and are incredibly kind. We enjoyed the work and the flexibility of it. It was fun to learn how to fix the living roof and spend time in the beautiful garden. They helped us fix the bikes so we could explore the area. It was fun to play music together and learn from both of them. We would love to come back :)
