Antonella and her family were wonderful! I am so happy to have spent my first Workaway experience with them. Everyone was very welcoming and kind. I worked hard and they fed me very well. When I arrived, I spoke only a little bit of Italian and had a hard time understanding speech, but they were very patient and taught me a lot about the language. By the time my experience was over, I understood so much more Italian. I'd recommend Antonella anytime! Consiglierei Antonella a chiunque!

Rachel and Cam were the best workawayers and we all got on really well. Cam is an excellent cook and made us many delicious vegetarian dinners. Rachel loved the chickens, feeding them everyday and collecting the eggs. We enjoyed a day at the Metung Hot Springs too. Can't recommend them highly enough! Super respectful and nice.

It's been a pleasure to have Robert and Veronika stay with us. They took great care of our cat and dog and kept everything neat and tidy in our home. They are lovely people and were easy to communicate with. Would recommend them to any workaway hosts.

Ash and Em were super guests—helpful, reliable, and always quick to anticipate work, never complaining about boring tasks (and there are quite a few), always finding the positive in life and work. This kind of help — where Workawayers add knowhow, passion, and manpower — is truly invaluable. We are so grateful to both and wish them all the very very best!

Susan is a truly lovely woman to have as a host. Such a kind, social and caring person! We have had many interesting conversations about irish history, so it is a lovely exchange if you really want to integrate and learn more about the irish way of living. (And her baking and cooking is next level - I have never eaten so good food in my life!) Kilkenny is a really nice town to visit as well and the animals are wonderful. It is a very calm and peaceful stay, but if youre looking for more action you can always go in to the city with the bus in the afternoon. The workload I found very fun and chill, even though I dont have any experience with gardening before. But the true highlight of this workaway really is Susan. I have had the best two weeks at the farm and strongly recommend this workaway!

Staying with Miki was an amazing experience. She is very laidback, and I felt comfortable at her place right away. We shared some meals, had a lot of great conversations, and even went out for drinks a few times. She has some great travel stories, as well as a lot of local knowledge about Japan and Japanese culture. She is good friends with most of her students, so the work environment was fun and relaxed. A couple of her students even invited me to hang out, which was great. Staying with Sayoko was also great. She made me feel like part of her family. While I was there she cooked traditional Japanese meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I had the option to give her some money to be included in the meals. It was definitely worth it. The food was great, and it was fun sharing meals with her and her family. I'm extremely grateful to Miki for everything, this was one of my best travel experiences.

What a great 10 days I had at Mamaki, thank you Julia again for everything! As soon as I arrived I felt at home at Julia's place. We had some really nice times sharing stories over delicious dinners, working on the land which was so beautiful and it didn't feel at all like a chore, and also some nice trips into Whangarei and all the way to Rawene too! It was also great to meet some of the other people living in the community and share some nice chats and even a bonfire together one evening. I also loved having use of the bike to get to the beach at Matapouri everyday in the afternoons for a swim, it's incredibly beautiful and Whale bay just a short walk over too. Thanks again Julia and Good luck with everything at Mamaki and beyond! :)

We had an amazing time at Geoff's! He's an incredibly kind person who was a huge help when we first arrived in Australia. He lives in a beautiful, peaceful spot near the beach. We shared some wonderful moments together, especially cooking, chatting, and taking walks along the ocean. Geoff made us feel right at home. We were also happy to help him with the upkeep of the house and grounds. A fantastic experience, full of sharing and kindness—a huge thank you, Geoff, and see you in France!

Gabi arrived here for a long 5 1/2 week placement and what a great person to have. She is one of the best single workaways we have ever had in 5 years being a host. Nothing was too much trouble, worked brilliantly from day one, very conscientious about everything she did. She absolutely adored ALL the animals, which included a lot of hands on help. The Chalet accommodation was left absolutely spotless. She came to us as a worker, and has left us as a very good friend. She will be sorely missed by us all, especially Marley & Rocky. We very much hope she will be back again a dream to have around. 5**** work away, very highly recommended.

Julie and John are two incredibly kind and welcoming people we've had the pleasure of spending time with during our NZ adventure. They had a prior family celebration in Wellington but still warmly invited us into their home prior to heading south for a few days. We tackled some tasks that they left us with as well looking after their beautiful home. Their home is fantastically located for exploring the greater area (Thames is a short drive away) and the Karangahake Gorge is a nice stroll from their doorstep. Because of their trip and a cold that John developed, we didn't get to spend as much time with them as we would have hoped, but what time we did spend with them was lovely. Julie even made a delicious breakfast and an even fancier dinner on Katrin's 30th birthday which was just so kind. We would love to visit when we're back around and we happily recommend them as Workaway hosts.

I was lucky enough to spend 9 days with Vivienne and her incredible family. Vivienne, Aping, Volvo, Remi, and Ida made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. For the week I was there, during the weekdays, Vivienne attended her daily Montessori training in Taichung (45 minute drive away). After we dropped her off, Volvo, Remi, another workawayer and I went on various adventures and drove to museums, a castle, and play areas with their car. On the weekend, the whole family drove to Taoyuan to stay with Vivienne’s parents, we met their friends, and also took a day trip to Jiufen before heading back to Miaoli. The room and their house are extremely comfortable and Vivienne was more than happy to help me with anything I needed. I tried so much amazing Taiwanese food (I miss Ida’s cooking!) and we had lots of fun movie nights as a family. I feel very lucky to have had such an amazing experience as my first workaway! I would have stayed longer if I could've, but I'll see you again soon! xx

I stayed at Kim and Peter's Ranch for one week with two other workaways. Kim and Peter are lovely and only want the best for there animals, you can see it in everything they do. This was my first Workaway and I am positive suprised how good it was and I am really glad about the experience. We fed the horses, cleaned the stables and either did some training with the horses or went for a walk with the dogs. You can learn a lot about horse care and in generell about animal care and maintenance of the Ranch. Sometimes we did gardening too. The Ranch is also perfect if you want to go with a friend. The communication was good even if it was sometimes hard for me to understand the british accent. Kim and Peter went out of their ways to drive me and the other workaways to the nearby town, watched movies with us and once we even went out to eat. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Chloe was an absolute delight to have stay. A lovely independent woman enjoying life to the fullest. Chloe worked well by herself, weeding and clearing/cleaning around the place, made a massive difference for me. Was lovely to spend some time together as well, sadly not as much as I would have liked due to dog trials over the week she was here. Enjoy the rest of your time in OZ!

Chaker was a good worker and worked well without supervision. Unfortunately Lois fell over and broke her arm at the wrist and therefore the work had to be put on hold for however long it takes. My attention has to be for Lois and we have a family wedding and visitors now so it has interrupted the the work. Wishing Chaker a good host and a good stay in Australia. Kindest regards Tom and Lois

Irina was a great help during her stay with us. She did all her tasks reliably, carefully and independently, and always showed commitment and responsibility. She fitted in well with the group of other Workawayers and was friendly, respectful and helpful. We really appreciated her positive attitude and reliability. We can truly recommend her to any host. All the best for your next travels, Irina – you are always welcome back!

Having Mat and Jacqui with us for the olive harvest was a great help for us. They respected the rules of the house and were wonderful with our animals. Nice persons to live together. We had a good time. Warmly recommended.

I had an amazing time in Belluno in the summer. The family made me feel so welcome and fed us the most amazing food. I learnt a lot from Jacopo on the farm, while the work was occasionally hard, it was very rewarding and he taught me a lot, as I was going in knowing nothing about organic farming. Francesca was always ready to answer my questions, however silly, and we had some lovely chats about so many things. The boys are just the sweetest. The family and their friends also took us to some great adventures on our days off, like going to via-ferratas, climbing up to waterfalls or going to chill by the lake. Thank you so much for having me, it is an experience I will never forget.

Emily And Mats are wonderful people: lovelys, kinds, creatives, hard workers, funs, very good at cooking. For us it was a pleasure and honor have met them. They did a great job and it was nice to share our family time with them. They really wanted to help us and they did a great job. They also helped in the house in so many different tasks that made our life so easy during their stay. Thank you SO much!
